Getting FlashTool to recognize phone in flashmode - Sony Xperia XZ Premium Questions & Answers

I'm not sure this is the right spot for this but...
I am having trouble getting FlashTool to recognize my phone once I get it into flashmode right before the process of flashing. I Goofed and accidentally wiped everything, including system in TWRP. I had downloaded replacement stock system from XperiFirm and got it ready with FlashTool. I installed the flashtool drivers as well as the modified google USB driver that Sony gives you when unlocking the boot loader. I get the phone is flashmode by plugging the phone in while holding down the volume down key, and I get the constant green notifacation LED. But FlashTool does not move past the point of telling me to enter flashmode.
Essentially what i'm trying to do at this point is just get stock software back on my XZP. From what I can tell this is the only way possible that I have found. I do have TWRP up and working. If someone could help me get this figured out, or point me to another way to get the stock Sony software back on my phone I would appreciate it.

Have you tried recovering it using xperia recovery tool?

FlashTool doesn't support XZP.
You need to use NewFlasher but the dev has been banned so uh.
Heres an older version that works perfectly. I don't trust the newest version .
Go into fw folder, drop the content of the rar into the fw folder and then run NewFlasher.exe while in flashmode.
Should be like this, C:\Users\yourusername\.flashTool\firmwares\yourdownloadedfirmware

same problem here

Try Sony Emma flasher.

i flashed my HK to custom CE using older version of newflasher (as FP suggested earlier). only issue was getting the USB driver to load. i had to turn off driver signing enforcement to get it to install (there may be other workarounds but that's a quick way).

Bootloop is normal after bootloader unlock, you need to flash the ftf rom there and then the FXP (kernel first) for example.

If gg gate drivers don't work try to go in fastboot mode and flash for example thunderzap kernel but before it put on your sd card a cm11 rom and flash it using recovery.

[Xperia J] Flash Mode + Fastboot = 'USB Device Not Recognized'

Hello Everyone, So i have a Sony Xperia J Unlocked Boot Loader + Custom MIUI Rom, I wanted to go back to stock rom, but when i use flashtool and place my device on flashmode a green LED indicates on my device like usual but on my pc screen it says ' USB Device not Recognized' so now i can't flash stock ftf, is there any other way to get to stock rom or any way to resolve this problem?
(I have a 64-Bit Windows 8.1 Laptop)
First select ftf that you want to flash on Flashtool, wait for pop-up window that tells to connect your phone than connect your phone. If you have drivers installed and disabled drivers verification it should work.
Good Luck

Update failed. Bricked phone. Help!!

Tried to update to latest firmware using Sony bridge for Mac and about 10 minutes in, I got an error message and a failed update.

Anyone got any ideas?
I've tried holding volume up and power buttons for 10 seconds and tried charging.... but the phone got really hot.

Maybe you can install the latest Sony drivers over the net and plug the phone in again.... Kinda depends if USB debugging was turned of during the flash...
Do you have warranty?
If not... Are you familiar with ADB?

Use a Windows PC. I have that problem too my Xperia Z3 is not detected on Sony Bridge... I think is a bug for the app.
Use SEUS or PC Companion and flash the firmware, Or download any Firmware for your model for Z3 and use flashtool (your Phone is not bricked only have a bad flash with flashtool you can fix it).
The phone is DETECTED on OS X but Sony Bridge not see the phone only that not be scary with Flashtool you can fix it or using Windows and PC Companion.
PS: Sorry if my english is bad xD.
PS2: If your phone revive download Android File transfer is better than Sony Bridge for file managing
Thanks for your quick replies. Much appreciated. I am having problems with my windows laptop but will try pc companion when I get it sorted.
Just one question. What is flash tool. I am not familiar with it sorry.

[Q][Tipo ST21i] Soft-bricked phone after switching from CM11 to Gimlo

Hello everyone,
a few days ago I flashed CyanogenMod (CM11 2014/06/06 Unofficial Tapioca) on my Sony XPeria Tipo ST21i. Unfortunately I noticed that the camera wouldn't work on that ROM, so I saw the need to switch.
I tried flashing Gimlo (Firmware for Tipo A4.22 v1.0 as well as Gimlo v2.0) via recovery. It appeared that the installation failed, so I attempted it a few more times. Finally I decided to wipe the /system partition and to re-flash Gimlo again, which now results in the phone falling into bootloop (=soft brick, if I'm not entirely mistaken).
Fortunately my computer (Win7 @ 64Bit) recognizes my phone (phone's blue LED is on). Fastboot does so as well, however ADB does not. However, I heard that I needed ADB to push a ROM onto my phone, which makes me question how I can fix ADB in order to restore my phone? The Android SDK has been installed and I use a USB 2.0 port.
If I forgot to mention something, please let me know. I also excuse me for possible mistakes, I'm new over here.
Thank you all for your help!

I tried to use PC Companion's repair phone functionality, however the process fails with error status 2003; Sony Update Engine Failure: "The phone/table contains modified software that cannot be updated."
Searching for a solution on that, I found out that Flashtool could help here, however it appears to not support the Tipo. Any ideas?
Greetings!

Tipo is supported by Flashtool, you need to download ftf with XperiFirm (it's last icon on right, and it will do all steps for you) and flash it with Flashtool. Im using 0.9.18.6 of Flashtool cos latest maks some problems when flashing older device. install drivers in Flashtool/drivers folder, just fastboot and flashmod.
Good Luck.

Thank you once again.
I downloaded all programs and it appears to have successfully flashed the FTF. I'm charging my phone now and let you know tomorrow whether it actually worked. So far thank you very much already!
Have a nice day!
#Edit:
So this morning I disconnected the phone from the charger and tried to boot it, however there's a red LED flashing now. When connected to the charger, the phone's LED is constantly green, so I assume it is not that the battery's dead.
If it's constantly green it may be in Flashmode and it may not change, remove battery, hold power button for 10 second, reinsert battery then put it on charger. It should charge.

Okay, I thought my battery was fully charged, so I tried re-flashing the firmware which has been aborted. Instead the phone started properly. It's now charging again.
Thank you very much for your help!
I may reply to this thread tomorrow again if I run into troubles while setting up Gimlo - I'll give it yet another shot anyways - so please don't close this thread too soon.
Thank you once again!
Have a nice day!
#Edit:
I managed to successfully flash Gimlo on my phone, and it works great so far! Once more, thank you for the quick and nice help. This thread can now be locked.

tried flashing 7.0, XZ now bricked

Hey,
I tried flashing 7.0 using flashtool, I do have some successful previous experience with flashtool, but my phone now seems to be bricked.
Try booting the phone and I get software failed to update. I'm assuming it soft bricked.
Every time I plug it into the computer, it enters flash mode. So repairing vie xperia companion is a no go.
Any suggestions?
Cheers!
Flashtool is not 7.0 compatable yet. It should be soon.
If you want to repair with xperia companion or PCCompanion you need the phone in flashmode so that will work. Just go through the dialogues in companion to force a software repair.
Thank you.

As gregbradley suggested please use Sony companion SOFTWARE REPAIR tool and you will be fine.
Make sure that your phone is in FLASHMODE. Good luck
To perform a software repair using a computer
Computer: If it is not already installed, download and install the Xperiaâ„¢ Companion application.
On a Windows® computer, download the application from http://support.sonymobile.com/global-en/tools/xperia-companion/.
On an Apple® Mac® computer, download the application from http://support.sonymobile.com/global-en/tools/xperia-companion-mac/.
Open the Xperiaâ„¢ Companion application.
Under Manage your Xperia, click Software repair.
Follow the on-screen instructions, but do not connect your Xperiaâ„¢ device to the computer until you're told to in the five-step instruction in the Xperiaâ„¢ Companion window.

It would be nice to see the errors if you could upload them. Also, if your bootloader is unlocked PCCompanion or xperia companion will not work. You will need to use EMMA from Sony that works with unlocked bootloaders.
Is your bootloader still unlock ?
if yes you need to relock first then try repair again in companion, maybe fail at first time but it's will be sucsses, it's not bricked, just like me yesterday, and now i got locked bootloader on 7.0.
same problem.even the sony companion can't repair the phone. then i used flashtool to flash the previous version ftf and the phone is repaired. but still 6.0.1. by the way i didn't unlock the bootloader.
seens like the flashtool need an update too.

yes... exactly the same for me.. i need to reflash the central europe 1 ftf to make the phone work.... i try to flash the turkey 6.0.1 ftf to get the OTA 7.0 but not work... flashtool give me errors on "modem.sis" and "system.sis"..... or something like that.... but now its ok whit 6.0.1 .... i just wait now..... no rush for me
What about Xperia companion? it seems to be stuck with me as well. I go through all the steps and its stuck on "repairing your xperia device"
There's no real way to brick these devices unless you unlocked the bootloader. Just flash a 6.0 ROM and have it perform an OTA upgrade to 7.0. There's a Customized RU ftf floating around here.
I'm in 7.0, can I flash back to 6.0 ? Cuz 7.0 is currently incompatible with a game I used to play.

That's all you need to do... There is no onscreen flashmode GUI.
When flashtool prompts you to connect hold down the button and attach the cable.. it will happen automatically.
if you still have difficulties run drivers.exe from the flashtool folder and choose flashmode drivers.

Flash this and you get OTA 7.0 in a minute..
I did that to at first and got that message update failed.
