Tried to update to latest firmware using Sony bridge for Mac and about 10 minutes in, I got an error message and a failed update.
Phone now stuck in bootloop with message telling me update had failed please connect to computer and try again...... Mac won't recognise the phone now though.
Anyone got any ideas?
I've tried holding volume up and power buttons for 10 seconds and tried charging.... but the phone got really hot.
Anyone???

Maybe you can install the latest Sony drivers over the net and plug the phone in again.... Kinda depends if USB debugging was turned of during the flash...
Do you have warranty?
If not... Are you familiar with ADB?

Use a Windows PC. I have that problem too my Xperia Z3 is not detected on Sony Bridge... I think is a bug for the app.
Use SEUS or PC Companion and flash the firmware, Or download any Firmware for your model for Z3 and use flashtool (your Phone is not bricked only have a bad flash with flashtool you can fix it).
The phone is DETECTED on OS X but Sony Bridge not see the phone only that not be scary with Flashtool you can fix it or using Windows and PC Companion.
PS: Sorry if my english is bad xD.
PS2: If your phone revive download Android File transfer is better than Sony Bridge for file managing
Thanks for your quick replies. Much appreciated. I am having problems with my windows laptop but will try pc companion when I get it sorted.
Just one question. What is flash tool. I am not familiar with it sorry.

Thank you for ur reply, yes bootloader was unlocked and I was trying to install the custom rom but after restarting my xperia L never started again. Black dead...no logo just red LED blinking and I tried key combination but nothing. To repair through sus and flash tool it should be recognized by the pc. Its being recognized as unknown device by pc and did try to install driver manually but no luck. In both sus and flash tool I found message no phone attached.
Plz guide me.

Thanx, Before this issue with my Xperia L I was using PC companion and I guess this already installed drivers but now neither PC companion/SUS nor flash is detecting my phone. I am using windows 8 currently but I also tried on windows 7 to install the drivers but no luck. My friend suggested that I need a boot loader as all the data in my Xperia L has been washed out due to bad flashing. In my country no boot loader device available for Sony Xperia 2013 models. Any alternate solutions?
Bootloader..?!! I think you don't have any kernel in your phone currently that's why it isn't recognizing your phone by the PC.. Try using SUS on Windows 7..make sure your driver's are installed properly.. Either through SUS or Flashtool..
If your phone is Not Recognized by Flashtool that means you don't have Required Drivers Installed. Use the Below method to Solve this Problem.
Open the folder /Flashtool/drivers & Install "ggsetup-2.2.0.11".
If Still after the Above Process Flashtool doesn't Recognize your Phone. Use this Method.
Open the /Flashtool/driver folder & Extract the "XXX_ADB_Driver.zip" anywhere on your PC/Mac/Linux. [ This Zip corresponds to your Phone Model. ]
Now Open "Device Manager" on your PC/Mac/Linux & find the device which is with an Exclamation mark on it. [ Make sure your phone is Connected to the PC ]
Right Click on that Device & Choose Update Driver.
Choose to find the Driver Manually.
Now Browse to the Folder where to have Extracted your Phone Model Zip File.
This will Install the Required Drivers on your Computer.
After that Open Flashtool Again & Try to Recognize your Device.
If Still you see any problem reply back for further assistance..
Hit Thanks if I helped you..

Hi pervenkal, try varunpilankar steps, I too faced this issue while flashing my Xperia L for the first time, 7 months ago. But it is most probably driver issue, during that time I tried lots of drivers even the one given with flashtool, but finally drivers from ADT bundle helped me.

The red blinking light sounds like your battery is low, I read about someone who had do e this not long ago. Couldn't boot tinto recovery because they had insufficient charge. Charge your phone on mains power for an hour, and then try flashtool again. But make sure you wipe everything.

First, Which phone you have, c1905 is Xperia M
Second, Flashing Xperia M ftf to Xperia L is a guaranteed brick ==
i don't think it can be fixed without a complate nand rewrite. just a assumption

yup i did everything right but i was having xperia l and i flashed xperia m stock rom .and then totally dead now it gives yellow led when i plug in charger or pc ..even though pc recognize it as zeus flash device but non of the flashing tools recognize it

I am using Xperia L and updated to latest CM12 successfully after rooting and unlocking bootloader successfully.Everything was running smoothly until i thought if doing some tricks with it.I tried to join SD card and internal memory through ADB in recovery and i did something wrong i guess and now the phone wont start.Flashtool is not working,Sony pc companion is not working.Phone wont turn on.When connected to laptop blinks a yellow light for 2 seconds and connects with laptop as HID.Flashtool recognises device is connected but displays "Device coonected with ADB off/For 2011 devices make sure MTP is off" and dont do any operations on it.Its the only phone i have and its been dead for a month now.Any help will be appreciated.Ready to do some hardware stuff on it too. Please,i genuinly need some help!:crying::crying:
And the phone when connect to laptop shows as HID device.I dont know how to change the driver installation when the phone connects.
Great news, your phone is recoverable
If it connects successfully through flashtool, it is recoverable.
U need to push the stock android first.
Restart in flash mode. Download the ftf file, and flash it.
http://xperiafirmware.com/8-firmware/36-sony-xperia-l-c2105
Since you messed up with the partition table it is likely that you have hard bricked the device. I've read on xda that flashing a stock ftf DOES NOT restore your partition table.
Have a look at this thread though.
Sorry bro it's a hardbrick no Possible solution expect changing the mother board.

hi, just have my xperia z3 and i decided to flash and update my phone from kitkat to lollipop using flashtool. Unfortunately, I flashed the the wrong firmware (D6603, supposedly D6613). Now the phone does not turn ON, charging and hardly not recognized by the computer when connected ("USB unrecognized and malfunction"). I've tried different computers but still the same, I cannot flash the right firmware because it cannot be detected by the computer. Is there anyway or need to do to make it work. Please help, I appreciate any ideas you may share.:crying::crying:

Is this the same for you ?
What model is your phone? Is your bootloader unlocked/upgraded? What did you try?
Is your flashmod working? And flastboot? Light status, etc... ?
Hey,
I tried flashing 7.0 using flashtool, I do have some successful previous experience with flashtool, but my phone now seems to be bricked.
Try booting the phone and I get software failed to update. I'm assuming it soft bricked.
Every time I plug it into the computer, it enters flash mode. So repairing vie xperia companion is a no go.
Any suggestions?
Cheers!
Flashtool is not 7.0 compatable yet. It should be soon.
If you want to repair with xperia companion or PCCompanion you need the phone in flashmode so that will work. Just go through the dialogues in companion to force a software repair.
Thank you.

Make sure that your phone is in FLASHMODE. Good luck
To perform a software repair using a computer
Computer: If it is not already installed, download and install the Xperiaâ„¢ Companion application.
On a Windows® computer, download the application from http://support.sonymobile.com/global-en/tools/xperia-companion/.
On an Apple® Mac® computer, download the application from http://support.sonymobile.com/global-en/tools/xperia-companion-mac/.
Open the Xperiaâ„¢ Companion application.
Under Manage your Xperia, click Software repair.
Follow the on-screen instructions, but do not connect your Xperiaâ„¢ device to the computer until you're told to in the five-step instruction in the Xperiaâ„¢ Companion window.

It would be nice to see the errors if you could upload them. Also, if your bootloader is unlocked PCCompanion or xperia companion will not work. You will need to use EMMA from Sony that works with unlocked bootloaders.
Is your bootloader still unlock ?
if yes you need to relock first then try repair again in companion, maybe fail at first time but it's will be sucsses, it's not bricked, just like me yesterday, and now i got locked bootloader on 7.0.
same problem.even the sony companion can't repair the phone. then i used flashtool to flash the previous version ftf and the phone is repaired. but still 6.0.1. by the way i didn't unlock the bootloader.
seens like the flashtool need an update too.

yes... exactly the same for me.. i need to reflash the central europe 1 ftf to make the phone work.... i try to flash the turkey 6.0.1 ftf to get the OTA 7.0 but not work... flashtool give me errors on "modem.sis" and "system.sis"..... or something like that.... but now its ok whit 6.0.1 .... i just wait now..... no rush for me
What about Xperia companion? it seems to be stuck with me as well. I go through all the steps and its stuck on "repairing your xperia device"
There's no real way to brick these devices unless you unlocked the bootloader. Just flash a 6.0 ROM and have it perform an OTA upgrade to 7.0. There's a Customized RU ftf floating around here.
I'm in 7.0, can I flash back to 6.0 ? Cuz 7.0 is currently incompatible with a game I used to play.

That's all you need to do... There is no onscreen flashmode GUI.
When flashtool prompts you to connect hold down the button and attach the cable.. it will happen automatically.
if you still have difficulties run drivers.exe from the flashtool folder and choose flashmode drivers.

Flashtool will tell you on the computer, there is no indication on the phone itself.
Cant add link.
Just google RU FTF ROM 6.0 xperia xz.you wil it somewhere
Flash this and you get OTA 7.0 in a minute..
I did that to at first and got that message update failed.
After flash ru rom i still got al my settings and apps.
Succes
I'm not sure this is the right spot for this but...
I am having trouble getting FlashTool to recognize my phone once I get it into flashmode right before the process of flashing. I Goofed and accidentally wiped everything, including system in TWRP. I had downloaded replacement stock system from XperiFirm and got it ready with FlashTool. I installed the flashtool drivers as well as the modified google USB driver that Sony gives you when unlocking the boot loader. I get the phone is flashmode by plugging the phone in while holding down the volume down key, and I get the constant green notifacation LED. But FlashTool does not move past the point of telling me to enter flashmode.
Essentially what i'm trying to do at this point is just get stock software back on my XZP. From what I can tell this is the only way possible that I have found. I do have TWRP up and working. If someone could help me get this figured out, or point me to another way to get the stock Sony software back on my phone I would appreciate it.
Have you tried recovering it using xperia recovery tool?

FlashTool doesn't support XZP.
You need to use NewFlasher but the dev has been banned so uh.
Heres an older version that works perfectly. I don't trust the newest version .
Go into fw folder, drop the content of the rar into the fw folder and then run NewFlasher.exe while in flashmode.
Should be like this, C:\Users\yourusername\.flashTool\firmwares\yourdownloadedfirmware
