It's currently not possible to root without unlocking your bootloader, and if you do that, you'll lose various features (notably most camera modes). You'd be wise to wait.

Root method for 5.0.2?

In my excitement about the lollipop update, I just pressed install only to later realize that it could mean I could have to wait even longer to get root access.
I need to get rid of the insane amount of bloatware and I need to be able to use tools that requires root access. The Sony ROM itself is not bad at all, and is way more true to vanilla lollipop that I dared to hope. So just gaining root access would do it for me at this point, as I would like to keep the lowlight algorithms for the camera.
I have had a look around but I can't seem to find any post-lollipop method to gain root.
Am I just bad at searching or is there no method yet?

You'll have to downgrade to 4.4.4 (just flash ftf through Flashtool), root it and install recovery then flash prerooted 5.0.2
That's for LB (locked bootloader) I guess you asked for LB.

[q] need root assistance

I have an Xperia Z3 D6603 running android lollipop 5.0.2 and it says in my service menu that im not allowed to unlock my bootloader. ive heard that its posssible to change this on multiple occasions and seen phones of the exact same model and firmware as mine that have unlocked their bootloaders and rooted their phones and i would like to do the same. i have tried different methods of unlocking from both official and unoffical sources, with no success. if anyone can please tell me how i might change the status or how i can unlock my bootloader and root (yes ive heard the risks a million times, no i dont really care about losing the drm keys that allow better lowlight conditions with the camera, and my phone actually has slowed slightly since the lollipop update) it would be much appreciated and of course if any additional info is needed, i will of course provide such as quickly as i am able to. thanks in advance and all input is appreciated.
you cant unlock the bootloader then, if you want root then you will need to downgrade to kk and root the device and install a pre-rooted lp rom

[Q] What is the actual way to unlock & root a LTE with lollipop?

There are many threads about how to unlock and root but things get old much fast, I feel like FAQ is too old to follow.
I prefer ask before make same thing wrong.
I have a Moto G 4g with lollipop locked and orginal, so I decide to put new thing now because same things are annoying me in the phone, I think xposed can help me well, so I only need unlock and put root, but need to know the last way to do this, I know unlock is easy but what recovery to flash and how? What I need to root? Is there same problem with xposed in lollipop?
I did come from Razer D3 mediatek, had not unlocked bootloader but was easy to root and te best way to custom was with xposed, so im more "acquainted" with this.
any help on this would be appreciated.
Please someone answers!!
If your phone is not retail and your carrier locked your bootloader, it's not currently possible to unlock the bootloader or permanently root it. You can only temproot it currently.
If you want to flash a recovery your bootloader must be unlocked. You cannot flash anything with a locked bootloader. But if you wish to know, you can use TWRP or CWM for peregrine phones.

Will stock rom rooted still have the same features

Hey
So I just bought a lg h830 I've signed up to

-mobile specific apps but keep my camera working and all the other issues that some of the custom roms are yet to fix.
Do I need to still flash 20a to root and will my phone still act the same after i unlock the bootloader and root ? Is there systemless root available so i can run my banking app still ?

How do I get root on bootloader locked Xperia Z5?

Hi.
I know that my device is bootloader locked (Was on O2) and I would like to root it. However I would like to keep Android 7.11. Is there a temporary root for it? I know there was for Android 5 and 6.
Also someone else on the forum managed to get their bootloader unlock to yes. If there is a paid for utility that does that I would pay for it.
Many Thanks,
-MegaBytesMe
