A fatal problem for MX Pro V1.9.0 Cannot display ASS subtitles, request to repair! - MX Player

MX Player Pro V1.9.0 Cannot load display ASS subtitles, request to repair!
Many MKV video subtitles are in ASS format, but the latest version of MX Player Pro doesn't show ASS subtitles .
Only MX Player Pro version V1.9.0 cannot .
My mobile phone is samsung s6 edge. Android 6.0.
After many tests, found that other players and the old version of MX Player Pro can be perfectly normal display ASS subtitles.
So ask the developer to fix this serious problem, or else user can only stay in the old version .

Very good .the test build is OK.
When to release the repair of Pro version?
I was wrong. It's SSA subtitles, not ASS subtitles .

When I streaming the mkv movie to my phone from Synology DS213J. Even LAN or WAN still can not show the ASS/SRT subtitles.
- Both files are same file name.
- mx player and DSM and video station are new ver.
- Already setup the port forwarding in router for DS video.
- UTF-8 subtitles file format
- no subtitle button on mxplayer screen, when I select the subtitles in setting panel try to get it from online, the "Search" was disable. but I save the mkv file in my phone, the "Search" is fine & work.
everything is work in last few month. I don't know which part have a problem.

Hi, From where you are playing?
MX Player do not directly support browsing of files on a network stream. So, videos will be never listed on MX Player screen.
Can you colect a bug report immediately after playing the video?

Hi, I try it at home and my office, and through the Synology apps DS video to select the movie to play.
In apps to submit the report, right?

I use LG v40 thinQ and this issue of waiting for font cache is already getting on my nerves

Need suggestion for MX player pro and MKV with embedded subtitle

Hi,
I tried to search and look around in this forum and still cannot resolve my problem.
I just installed MX Player pro. I ripped and made one MKV movie file from bluray with embedded subtitles in the file.
I tested the file with my TV and DUNE HD player and also tested this file on my computer with XBMC, VLC media play. The movie can be played smoothly and I can control, select, enable, or disable subtitles as usual.
However, when I loaded the file to my Samsung Note 8, MX player pro can play movie smoothly and fine. The only problem is that there is no subtitle shown, although I selected or enabled subtitles.
I also tried enable and disable in Setting > Subtitle > Enable Subtile and Setting > Subtitle > Enable Embeded Subtiles , but it doesn't help.
Please suggest.

Did you check subtitle track button on the playback screen?
There may a speech balloon button on the upper right corner of the playback screen, if video have one or more subtitle tracks.

Hi bleu8888, do you mean the mini button on the right corner? There are H/W, subtitles, audio.
Yes I checked it. I enabled one, two, or sometimes even all of them, but no subtitle is shown.
Note: I just tested the file with "VLC for android" and it works as expected. All subtitles work fine.
Thus, I guess there must be some missing or incorrect configuration in my MX Player Pro. Please help.

Sure. Here is what I captured from VLC for Windows when I played this file. This file can be played normally on VLC for Windows, VLC for Android, and TV + Dune HD.

Hmm, pgs subs shouldn't generally cause a problem... as bleu requested, mind sharing your file somewhere? If the file's big, could you clip out a few minutes and share that instead?

Hi bleu8888
I installed it. It looks like an updated part, doesn't it? Anyway, it works as expected now.
Thank a lot!
You can use Avdshare Video Converter to removing subtitles from MKV with the help of an MKV Subtitle Remover named MKV Subtitle Remover.

[Bug Report] [SOLVED] App crashes when subtitles are enabled

[Bug Report] App crashes when subtitles are enabled
ASUS MeMo Pad FHD 10 (WiFi), Android 4.3, MX Player (pro) 1.7.35, also tested with 1.7.36 (beta) version.
Each time I play a video with subtitles enabled, MX Player crashes after 1-3 minutes of playing. I've tried it on different videos (codecs, 720p and 1080p, 8bit and 10bit), using HW and SW encoders. Results are always the same: if subtitles are enabled (internal or extrenal, with or withoud hw acceleration), player crashes after a minute (or so) of playing a video.
I haven't used it for nearly a month, so I don't know for sure when this weird behaviour has begun.
Here are three reports on google drive: https://drive.google.com/folderview?id=0B8SONyEPcSqvWW9fX3FjRWJ5MVU&usp=sharing
The last of them has been generated after video suddenly closed with no warning or error generated.
If you need any additional details that could help, or if I can perform some extra tests, I'm eager to help.
Since there's a lack of spacing in that post, in case anyone missed it, the error logs were given here: https://drive.google.com/folderview?id=0B8SONyEPcSqvWW9fX3FjRWJ5MVU&usp=sharing
Partial solution:
Enable Android 4.0 compatibility mode. It works with .srt subtitles. Subtitles in .ass files still crash the player.
(NOTE: I don't have the MeMo Pad anymore, I've returned it to the store, so I leave the thread. Good luck with the bug.)

[BUG] IPTV + Android 6.0.1

I am trying to watch iptv. It plays about seven minutes, and then closes the application. No matter SW or HW
Any news from the developer?
What channel are you watching? I watch iptv channels during long periods and no problem.
Is that problem present in other apps? It could be the channel

Mx player just stops when I play unstable streams with iptv app
few days ago I installed iptv app, and recommended player is mx player, but when stream is bad or unstable it just stops playing, so i have to start playing it again every now and then, is there an option to keep playing stream even if stream sometimes stuck for a while
I also have this problem, no matter what player I use when I play unstable stream it just stops playing after few minutes, so I have to start it again, it should have an option to keep playing stream even if it has errors, on my pc I use vlc player and it has an option to toggle between loop, loop one etc. that option keeps stream playing even if it gets few errors, or generally bad stream with interruptions, but android version of vlc does not have that option.

Kindly collect a bug report from MX Player (menu > help > bug report) immediately after reproducing the issue. Without the bug report, we can't understand what's the actual issue.
Can you share the playlist? We will check it from our end.

i will do it today !
Yesterday i have tried an option in mx player player ! i check this in order to reconnect automatically and it doesnt return to menu any more. But mxplayer is very sensitive to stream quality server perhaps because i have often reconnection to server that i doesnt have with VLC or other player. It seem HW is more sensitive that HW+ and SW !
image quality is fantastic with mx player and HW, clear and very smooth ! HW+ is with some judder and SW is interlaced even if i chek option.
It seem mxplayer seem more sensitive when i use it for a while !
i will try to share bug report but i dont know if it is really a bug ! On the same server mxplayer often reconnect and with vlc or other players no !
Perhaps VLC skip some frame etc ?!? perhaps a cache trouble ?!?
You just need to go play option on MX player and tick loop one (repeat). That's the solution

MX Player not all dialogue is Displayed

Just started using MX Player and like it very much.
I have movies recorded from TV and they have subtitles included in the file.
For most movies MX Player displays all the dialogue as subtitles very well.
I have some that when played with MX PLayer not all the lines of dialogue get displayed on screen.
I had this same problem with these movies when I first started using Potplayer on my windows PC.
Potplayer was able to fix this problem in one day and now all these movies display the subtitles perfectly using Potplayer.
I want to use MX Player on my android devices so would love to have the technical people try to modify the software to fix this problem.
I can supply a dropbox link to a very small portion of one of these movies where the problem occurs .
But not sure if that is OK to place here ?
If it is OK please let me know and I will include the link.
Please help.

MX PLAYER PRO doesn't recognize .SRT files anymore?

I haven't used MX PLAYER PRO for a while due to a faulty media player. I recently bought Nvidia Shield TV Pro and started using MX PLAYER PRO again. Then, I realized that the player doesn't display subtitles for my videos at all. It used to be able to recognize the external .srt files, but not anymore.
Anyone knows why? Is there anything I can do to get it to work like before again?
Thanks much!

By default, MX Player will only list the subtitles having the identical file name. Please make sure that the subtitle filename is the same as the video, and it should work for you.

I have been using MX Player Pro for years and I do know that the subtitle files have got to have the same filename as the video files. It worked before I switched over to Android TV (Nvidia). It shows that it picked up the subtitle file (I checked it via the top right corner subtitle icon), but it just won't show on screen. I really don't know what else can be wrong.
Imbedded subtitles are fine. But as long as it's a separate file, MX Player won't show.

I now suspect this may be the cause -
I am using Nova Player to use MX Player as the external player. The video files Nova accesses are from my NAS. MX Player doesn't have the capability to connect to my NAS. While MX Player is playing the video files that are fed by Nova (which has access to my NAS), MX Player doesn't have direct access to the .srt files that are located in my NAS together with the video files.
Does it make sense?
Thanks.

I'm sorry but I can't find the Local Network Option in MX PLAYER PRO. Does it have to be the beta version that everyone is talking about? I'm also not sure if there is a difference in the versions because I am using Android TV.
I am new to Android, and I was told there are different versions for Android Mobile and Android TV for some apps.
Thanks.
