I have been thinking about upgrading my current LG optimus 4x.
Since I was satisfied with it and I am looking forward to LG. I know LGs update policy sucks but since I would strap a custom rom to my device ASAP I dont mind it.
My first option I was interested was Sony Xperia Z because of its design and looks. After a bit of reading, its display was bad and worse than my current 4X HD.
Nearly on the same price range lies Gpro and then just bit more expensive lies the G2. I was quite suprised to see the G2 CHEAPER than the Galaxy S4. I was kinda shocked.
G2 is the flagship or LG, while the Gpro is an older phone. However, both have spectacular specs and the design of the Gpro is nice.
Anyway, can anyone help me on this?

G pro pros: bigger screen, external SD, removable & stronger battery. Cons: weaker chipset, dated android version.
G2 - just the opposite.
Anyway- you should check the Z1, if the price is reasonable, then it will be my choice

Many people are joining xda on daily basis. Some of them join the forum to get custom ROMs while some join in order to get some of their problem that they are facing with their phones solved.
There are dedicated threads for ROMs but what about HELP/QUESTIONS??
People generally straight away start a new thread to get their doubts solved. But this can lead to chaos in the forum.
I'm creating this thread as an alternative to *New Threads* that aim to resolve a question.
Not only this, this thread can also become a Database kind of place where people can look if their question is already solved or not...
I request all members of the LG GFLEX 2 sub-forum to help and answer some questions posted here if they can.
I hope you guys get the idea behind this thread...
Hey, thank you for creating this thread, I've just wanted to create my own thread, but your ideea is just great!
When the G Flex 2, was announced I was really, really happy and wanted to go for it, but as I search, it's getting more, and more disspointing...
I am a Xperia Z2 owner, and I'm looking forward changing my phone, and for comparation I've searched for LG G3 oppinions against Z2, and some people say G3 is rubbish (especially battery life and camera), some say it's great and it has anything that Z2 doesn't... I really like the G Flex but there are a few things that bother me...
Can someone please answer me the following questions?
- Some say SnapDragon 810 is slower than SnapDragon 805 (2Ghz vs 2.7Ghz), and instead to go for Note 4, because it kills the Flex 2. Is that true? SD810 is slower than SD805?
- Will the G Flex 2 have 3GB ram? Again some say it will have only 2GB of ram because LG is keeping 3GB of ram for the LG G4. Is the G Flex 2 featuring the new LPDDR4?
- How is the camera on the G Flex 2/G3? I am a Xperia Z2 owner, but most of the times I'm looking for much more, this one dissapoints me (especially at sharpness, quallity and focus). How is the G3 camera compared to the Z2 camera? (THE CAMERA IS REALLY IMPORTANT FOR ME!)
- How are the speakers on the Flex 2/G3? Xperia Z2 speakers really suck, the quallity is OK, but they're not enough loud.
- How should the battery on the Flex 2 be? I must say that as an Z2 user, the battery is really incredible! Should I expect less from the Flex 2?
I would really appreciate if someone would answer my questions.
Thank you and have a great day!
Will the G Flex 2 have wireless charging?
and @khrystyan27 16GB version will have 2GB ram and 32GB version will have 3GB ram like G3
Any ideas if / when verizon will have it?

It's great at least that there will be a 3GB/32GB version. Is the ram LPDDR4?

Whoever says Note 4 will be better than G Flex 2 performance wise either works for Samsung or is very deluded.
The 32GB version will have 3GB of LPDDR4. G4 will most likely have 4GB, but those just started being manufactured, hence it's too early.
G3 is one of the better camera, though LG is beating a dead horse and somehow making it run a little further every time. G4 should finally put an end to the misery of the IMX135, I hope.
Assuming it's same speaker, is going to be very loud at least, but thin bass.
LG says the battery should be as good or better than G Flex, and if is just near the original G Flex it is going to be a beast!
So, do you say that G3 camera is better than Z2 camera? Photos with the Z2 at night are very blurry.

I have made this just to avoid unnecessary threads it will be living once u have g3 users joining here
I am curious about the camera, particularly the limitations on length of recording. I see it will record in WQHD but will there be a 5 minute time limit on those files? Being 64 bit, as well as the 810 under the hood I would expect them to remove these limitations but I am not sure. Any ideas?
@gpvlog, the limitations come from the device overheating, no the limited performance of the device... Even SnapDragon 800, can shot 4K flawlessly, but the device overheats because a lot of CPU/RAM is used. The NAND cells are used intensivly aswell...
this think is hottt very hot i cant handle on my hands... my mom take it to fry some eggs on it...it was water resistand?
Well, there are some really bad news...
LG just confirmed that there won't be any 3GB ram version...

Is there any chance that we will se a 3GB ram model? I would really like to buy this phone, but the specs are really dissapointing...

The 3GB ram version is going to be a US carrier special. What carrier I dunno. Also if there week be an international version with 3GB ram is unknown.
LG debunks the myth, that there is a 3GB version... what are the chances that there will be a 3GB later?

Well, the information I had was from the Nordic Product Specialist, Mobile Communications. So there should be a special for some US carrier.
For global though, nothing at the start at least.
Well... My next phone IF IT WILL have 3GB ram. I'm not going back from 3GB LPDDR3 to 2GB LPDDR4. I don't care it's faster... Quantity is also important!

With the Z4 close at hand.
I've been put off a bit from the Z series by Sony's 6 month replacement schedule and how long they support their devices.

however u can find some devices that die at release but OEMs have to support their device at least for 18months
and it s true for Flagships like Z, Z1, Z2, Z3 & so on...
:good:
Wait for the Z4 or new HTC M9. The CPU generation is completely different vs Z1/Z2/Z3 which have a similar CPU. Also with the Z4 it is said Sony will switch to 1 year release cycles so the Z4 should get much better support.

But you do hear about heating issues concerning the Snapdragon 810, which seems to the be the hardware of choice for a number of forthcoming devices.
They are making "officially" changes for Samsung, after they threatened to switch to the new 64bit Exynos for the entire production run of the S6. Also it's not known how bad it is (heat increase), it could be minor increase from the 805, as Sony, HTC, LG are not complaining and LG and HTC both stated its not an issue.

That's just a hoax by Samsung. Shame on them. LG has confirmed that Snap810 doesn't have any heating issues. Samsung came up with that so they can use exynos on the upcoming S6. Truly shame on them
Well it's partly true, though Samsung obviously blew it out of proportion. What LG said was they worked "around" it (heat issue) meaning it was not bad, probably a minor increase from previous generation.
Hello,
Im really struggling to choose which phone to buy. Im thinking about P9, G5 or S6. Or maybe you now something better than these with similar price.
I now that S6 is much older, but its in similar price range .
I watched many comparison videos(mainly LG G5 vs. P9), but still cant make my mind.
As every user, I need stable, not lagging phone(samsung rules out? ). I think they all will run pretty much the same, but which will lag least and work most fluidly(custom roms does count).
What I dont like in LG and P9:
Camera. In comparison videos, one photo looks better taken with P9, other photo better with LG G5, and quality is not very spectacular, although not bad. Video recording looks bad in P9, a little better in G5 ( I think).
P9. I dont like that Huawei offers only 3GB RAM/32GB version in my region.
Supports only Cat6 LTE (4g) network, my country has cat9 support.
Camera(could be a little bit better). No 2K video.
No NFC in 3gb version.
LG G5.
Battery, with QHD screen, battery should be better.
Processor Quad-core, or its enough?
Camera(could be a little bit better)
Snapdragon 820, i think kirin 955 in huawei/exynos is better.
Dont now much about S6.
I would be really greatful if you advice me which phone i should buy, because its real headache for me now.
Im really looking forward for your opinions!
any opinions :/ ?

So I'm curious about this.
I'm overly excited for the LG G6 as my next device upgrading from the beloved LG G4! The rumours of the G6 excites me where as the overrated Galaxy S8 doesn't excite me. I'll always remain an LG customer and ignore Samsung! Even though Samsung's fault of anti competitive measure on delaying the production of Snapdragon 835, I have no problem LG G6 will stick to the already very good SD 821. LG G6 has good chance to have better sales since the Galaxy S8 will launch a month later all because of SD 835 Why the Google Pixel & OnePlus 3T is very powerful with the SD 821! LG G6 will definitely be a snappy beast just as LG G5 was.
G6 will be great, we've hit a stagnation in processor performance so there's no need to even go from a 821 to a 835. Hence why I'll probably hold onto my V20 for a bit.
Like the V20 was better than the G5 which was better than the V10 and the V30 will be better etc...
But this is a V20 owners forum so I'm not sure why you are telling that to people that already got the great V20.
It seems that LG might be taking some of the features that make the V series attractive and incorporating them into the G series. (Features like the 5.7 inch disply and quad DAC)
It seemed to me that the V series had become LG's true flagship (for a very targeted audience) over the last couple of years but that might change again with the launch of the G6.
I'm interested to see the final product that will be the G6 and how that compares to the V20. It seems that the V20 will offer very little value/advantage over the G6 aside from the removable battery and extra display, while the G6 will likely have water resistance, wireless charging and a new Quad DAC.
I'll be a little dispointed that my V20 is no longer the best phone that LG has to offer but I am an LG supporter and I do want them to succeed, so that said, I think it will be good for the G6 to have a new Quad DAC, a large near-bezeless display, water resistance, wirelss charging as well as various other attractive features. I think the decision to move away from a removable battery for design and water resistance is a good decision because the general user just isnt looking for a removable battery anymore, instead they want a solid, reliable phone that looks really good, something that Samsung has proven over the last couple of years.
For the rest of us power users (or at least those of us that are looking for something different and unique) there will be the V30 to look forward to towards the end of the year. That phone will likely be running the SD835 with something new that differentiates it from the G6.
I don't really care the DAC in the v20 is plenty for a majority of users and I doubt there would be a difference big enough to notice for the headphones I use.
The lack of removable battery is something I've strayed away from l not only because factory batteries suck but I prefer a larger frame because this "thinner is better" crap is out of control.
G6 seems like a sell out phone in my opinion, the features that make LG unique are traded to be like every other phone.
