You need unlock bootloader and root, so be careful with it since no warranty...

Chrome will only block ads that are known to be intrusive. They will not block all ads. So it's way better to use the host file.

For using host file you need to have root, right?

Not necessarily. There are a couple of Magisk modules which uses the host file for ad blocking. Using one right now.

No broooo, u r extremely mistaken about adguard... Im using it from past 4 years...
It block ads from every apps and allow users to block the internet permissionto specific apps to protect your privacy...
##Im always sending reports to them about new ads comes with installed apps... And they are blocking it ontime##
""" But u need to PURCHASE the app """" otherwise its only block specific browsers...
If u dont like to pay, simply download the cracked adguard app from TRUSTED source and use it... im damn sure U ll feel the difference....

Ah, so we need to purchase adguard to get it's full capabilities

[Q] Is possible to block ads in Nexus 5?

Like title, is possible to block ads in Nexus 5? I try AdAway and it didn't work..
Ad away works here just fine. Blocking ads in apps and websites. Make sure that you're using the 2.8 Version. It may have a error on the first time you apply it but do it again and the problem will go away.

It's not working. It may need to be updated, but i'm not seeing anything mentioned on their forum or blog yet.
I keep getting stuck on it when it tries to apply the host files. Not sure what the issue is.
Edit: Got it to work now. Preciate' the tips previously posted.

Working here
Mother of all AD Blocking
I have been using the "Mother of all AD Blocking" from here and have been very satisfied. AFAIK it only modifies the hosts file and doesn't have any process running that uses battery.
It's got a web server running... Has to be using some battery.

This is misleading at best. AdAway does have a service, but it's disabled by default and not required at all.

Magisk in stock B389

Right, just a quick question:
Does Magisk works with stock ROM B389? I've read a lot about Magisk, but most, if not all, is referring to 3rd party ROM's with Magisk, not stock.
And the reason why I want stock, although removing some GAPPS, is because I do appreciate a lot the timed shutdown and boot-up: saves phone's battery and my head from radiation while I sleep. But I also want to keep Android Pay, so...
thanks in advance.

Yes, but stock only. I haven´t root it yet and I don´t know if I will. Besides Adaway and unistalling some Google Apps I don´t know what else I would gain.
And I would also have to be careful for Magisk not to break FingerPrint scanner or smart button. A reboot would fix it, but anyway something to be concerned about.

Is there any trick or special procedure to follow?
Edit: Just uninstalled Magisk and FP works. Will try to install Magisk now. It works.
My conclusion:
1- Enrol FP
2- Install Magisk

Oneplus 6 root , nfc

Hello everyone. I.m planning to root my op6 , just for the adblock. Does anyone who rooted the phone knows if i can still use the NFC pay option ? I.m using ING Pay , will i be able to hide it in magisk ?
Or, there is any other way to block ads without rooting ?

Any apps that are claiming to do one click root are most likely malware, fake or outdated. Use magisk, its the best and easiest way, and just flash the patched boot image manually.
