In your links it says "Onedive incoming , Android incoming" . Is upload in progress or you are planning to upload to those sites later? Thanks in advance, I need restore files to restore my soft-bricked phone, and figured might as well restore to latest most version.

Modem issue
Does anybody have modem speed issues with this firmware? I don't know whether MIMO is enabled. I used to get 40MBps on the C1 modem and after the update, I only get 20Mbps at the same spot.
i have t-mobile firmware installed on my at&t phone & whenever i try this firmware..my phone gets stuck on Samsung logo. Help is appreciated. thanks

im using home_csc & i waited 20 mins.. & didn't gave up...re flashed again & waited another 20 mins. Then went back to T-mobile firmware again.
Flash it, wait for it to say that it's installing update. As soon as it shuts off hold home and volume up. It'll boot to recovery. Wipe data/factory reset and clear cache (I do each one 3x to be sure) then reboot. It'll take a few minutes (After updating to this it did seem to take longer than normal) but it should startup

LTE speed= 30mbps download, about 22 upload. I had tested the T-Mobile PK1 firmware and I was getting 60 or 70 at the same location. I have opened all bands.

I've noticed it too. It isn't horrible but there is slightly less battery life with this update. I am down to about 40% at the end of a 8 hour day on the older firmware, with QE2 I am at about 30%. With moderate to medium heavy use.

In your previous firmware for 4/28 you specifically state there is not root available for it. Is that still the case with this one?

Ok so it is like this:
I bought my galaxy r here in sweden 1 year and 3 months ago, it was working perfectly for around 1 year.
At the one year mark i started to have some problems with the touchscreen where the phone would feel a pressure in the middle of the screen, to get rid of this i simply locked and unlocked the phone or rubbed a bit with a cloth on the screen.
Recently when I saw there was a cm10.1 rom with nightlies I rooted my phone and later installed the cm10.1 rom. Now the most anoying thing. I have a problem with my battery where the phone just shuts down randomly (mostly when playing games) even though it sometimes have up too 80% battery remaining. Then when I restart the phone it usually have 0% battery left and therefore shuts itself down again, sometimes it restarts with just a 20-30% batteryloss. This have occured more often recently and it shuts itself of 3-4 times a day. I can't remember if it was like this when i was on stock, before I started to flash and root, but i think it was.
A few days ago i flashed stock ics from odin and I confirmed that both of these problems still were there, so i have hard to belive that it is the modding of the software that have caused this.
Do you guys have any suggestions to how i can be able to use my phone normally again?
Im just a poor student so i don't want to waste money on a new phone after just 1 year :/

Also if you want to take backup then take it using Super backup application.

Nope, im not takeing backup of anything.
And one other thing i forgot to mention earlier, the phone now also thinks it is charging itself evrn when it is not. It think the usb cable is still connected.
I hope OP doesn't mind that I'm joining his thread, I'm experiencing the same problems on my gfs phone and don't know what to do.
I just installed the fresh CM 10.1 nightlies (did Cache/Data/Dalvik Wipe) and she is experiencing pretty much the same problems:
After 1 or 2 hours of unplugging the phone gets stuck and shuts down. After restarting the battery percentage is pretty low and the phone shuts down again (even if the battery says ~10%). The battery percentage then changes every restart, but is always between 0 and 20%. The phone is barely usable in this state :/
I couldn't wipe the SD card (.android_secure) because the swapped paths, could this be related?
Thank you in advance!

It shouldn't be happened. But if u are feeling so, just flash any stock GB using odin v1.87. Then just wipe all data and cache. Install cm10.1 over that using method 2.

I'm definitely going to try this, but as it seems now i think it is more about a faulty battery/hardware that software?
Or have these kind of problems been fixed software before?
One other thing, if i have rooted my device, does the root dissappear when i flash stockrom using odin?

May be hardware or software too..when you will vanish all data & cache then Software issue may be gone but if problem still persist, means you have hardware problem.
Also, root will be lost after flashing Stock ROM from ODIN.
I'm able to also confirm, that Procedure II didn't help the problem. I really doubt it is a hardware fault, because of us two having the exact same problem after flashing the same rom.
@Dippn: Do you know which nightly build you used? In my case it was the nightly build "20130405". Also could you check which baseband you are on? (Under About Phone -> Baseband Version) Over here we have i9103NEKI1
The only special thing we did I can think of is flashing a modem file (when we were still on the unofficial cm10.1 without these kind of problems, but massive battery drain), because there was a call problem going on for customers of the austrian provider 3 and CM10.1.
I could analyse the problem a bit more today: It seems as soon as the phone gets busy (for example from the browser loading pages or in DippN's case processing a game), the touch screen gets unresponsive and everything starts to lag and delay or freezes completely until it shuts down the phone. Could be either CPU or RAM related, I guess. I just wonder what caused this, even if the nightly had a faulty kernel, this should be fixed as soon as we flash another ROM, right?
I will be able to try a different ROM on monday. It would be great, if you could report, if the downgrade to GB helped the issue. I'd like to try a different baseband, if you are on the same right now too.
Greetings and thank you so much for trying to help us, vikesh!

Well, we are not on the same baseband. I'm on I9103XXLQ3.
About the cm verison im not quiet sure, the latest i flashed was "20130406" but since the problem were there the time before that when i flashed cm I cant answer exacly but i have a cm version "20130305" on my desktop and it could be that one that I used.
I never used cm before it was on nightlies so the modem file flashing i dont know anything about.
The thing you mention about that it shuts of when the phone gets busy and touchscreen gets unresponsive I can kind of confirm too.
I will flash GB now, will report back in an hour how it went.

Flashed GB using v1.85 and now I am stuck in bootloop, after 10 sec at the samsung logo it restarts and repeat. >.>
When the phone restarted after the flash and after it says "-updating application" it says:
Installing Multi-CSC
Can't access to '/system/csc/NEE/system/'.
Successfully applied multi-CSC.
I have no idea what this means but could it mean anything?
EDIT: I got it to start by wipe cache and data. (thought i should do that when cwm was installed)
Unfortunately already in the startup options when u write wifi password the touchscreen became very unresponsive and when i after a few min had succeded writing the password the phone shut of when it tried to connect to it! :,(
I can also confirm that it still thinks it is charing when it is not becuase the symbol in the statusbar flicked from battery to charging symbol.
Is there anything else softwarerelated that I can do?

Been looking around for a while now trying to figure out what the problem is. I have the EE variant of the G920F galaxy s6 in the UK. At least once a day the phone will reboot for no apparent reason what so ever. This has been since the 5.1.1 update, I have factory reset and cleared cache and it still happens. Anyone got any ideas? Thinking of flashing the international software to see if it happens with that.

There's something about optimisation in settings, to reboot at certain times or conditions. Just check that this isn't the case.

I suggest you try debranding the phone.
Install the unbranded stock firmware.
It usually has fewer bugs, and is gauranteed to get faster updates.

Yep. Did that yesterday and it has restarted twice, it restarted today also just. Stuck as to what to do, I took it to the Samsung service center near me and all they did was re flash the phone... Starting to really get on my nerves.
Anybody else having issues receiving the latest OTA released today? I've tried 3 times now with it returning an error on the recovery screen and when it boots back into the OS it says the update failed with no explanation.
Mine worked first try. Software update complete. It even mentioned making sure to charge the battery as the update may have drained it...
Mine worked Ok. How much memory do you have remaining free? Maybe that is an issue...?
New firmware update huh? I have not gotten my notifcation yet. I'll do a manual check, but I'm stll on the default OGJ firmware and modem.

4.01 GB free and the funny thing is I actually just did a fresh restore using the previous AOJ2 firmware via ODIN and I used the PIT file as well. I'm gonna try again and see what happens in a moment.

On a couple of other devices I had, I had stuff disabled and that was the cause of the OTA failure. I currently used the debloater on my Note 5 to disable/hide a bunch of stuff. I will try to re-enable all those, and then try the update.

I don't see any changes as to what we interact with, but new Android security patches and does have a new kernel with a different date, not sure if anything changed on the internals of it. Have new entry in about device of android security patches and November 1st date.

Just an update I also had alot of apps disabled as well and re-enabling them did not fix the issue. I had to install samsung smart switch on my pc and do the update manually and it worked with no factory data reset which was optimal because transferring my music collection via MTP is a pain in the a$$. I will post the firmware if anyone needs it, but there is also a firmware thread that should be updated momentarily.
Android security patch = hogwash
They are just making it harder to achieve root. ?

Did my update over lte.
I noticed major lag for like a couple hours after. Now it works smoother and it seems like my standby drain is fixed. 11% in 7 hours with 45mins SOT.

As these updates are often specific to carriers, I'd be surprised if the installer did not look for the sim card to absolutely verify carrier. Just my guess. Good luck.
Didn't work. I think I need a Verizon sim
I wonder if you can get a hold of an old non-working Verizon sim and see if it works. If so, you can just switch them out any time you want to update. Try eBay or something.

My SM-N915FY reboots appx. 10 times per day. It's a stock phone, no root so no custom roms or mods. I had this phone since 5.1.1 and the phone is now at 6.0.1 patch level 1 from June 1, 2016. All upgrades have been done automatically OTA by either Samsung or my provider. It's been rebooting ever since i have it.
Questions:
- Anybody else having this problem?
- Is there a way to find out what i causing the reboots?
- If i root my phone, would i be able to troubleshoot this better?
- In case i root my device, is there a list of Samsung bloatware that is know to be safe to remove? My aim is to remove everything that might cause these reboots.
Thanks,

Hi...
Have you tried factory resetting the phone from recovery. This solves a host of problems usually accompanied with OTA updates...Ensure you make a back up of your data...before doing this.

Flashing a Custom ROM is easy. The tricky part is rooting and installing custom recovery. Since you are already on the latest Android version, you can disable any app that is causing battery drain..after rooting. Here is a useful guide...

Well I am in the same boat with my edge. I am currently using it as a remote! I have booted into safe mode...nothing. Wiped the cache and hard reset it twice. I have never rooted a phone but it seems like that will be my only option. It doesn't seem that easy to do. How do you find the roms that work with your phone?

You can find ROMs in the Galaxy Note Edge section of this forum. I changed my Note Edge for a Galaxy J7 and it's faster, more modern and has a battery life 10 times longer than my Note Edge. Ah, and no reboots.
No more Note Edge for me.
Hi Obi Wans, you are my last hope.
Just before I went to bed last night I accidentally put my fat finger 2mm on the wrong spot and Samsung thought it was an excellent idea to start the waiting upgrade. After the first reboot the S7 just wont get past the "glowing" Samsung logo.
Situation:
Bootlooping. Black screen with glowing white Samsung logo. Led is glowing in blue in sync with the logo on the screen.
Phone does not restart / reboot. It is stuck in above mentioned situation.
Still on Nougat. Update was Nougat to Nougat. I use to be a couple of updates behind. I think last update I did was in Feb/Mar.
Hot A F. While not connected to anything but running the Samsung logo it is hot as F. Burning hot. I guess the CPU / Memory is working hard with something but I have no clue what that could be.
Can reboot and go into eiither Recovery Mode or Download Mode.
Wishlist (in priority order):
Get phone to boot up perfectly with no data loss or triggered Knox.
Get phone to boot up perfectly with no data loss but with triggered Knox.
Get access to files and / or opportunity to backup apps / settings / data in Internal memory.
I would really prefer not to trigger Knox. I'll do it if there is no other option and if it is possible to get access to the phone with unharmed configs or at least get data from the phone.
I thought I was smart when I set up ADB a couple of weeks ago. ADB access during bootup is working and the keys are in place.
Information I currently have:
Model No: SM-G930F
CPU Eyxnos
"NEE" / Nordic version.
Unlocked from day 1.
Never rooted or had any non stock roms.
Serial No: (Is there any risk related to put this on internet?)
Logcat log saved to my PC (Is there any risk related to put this on internet?)
Tools I have at my disposal:
ADB access that has been working ok during the night and morning. It is somewhat flaky because it seems like while I have access during Samsung glows the connection seems to break and I have to connect with f x adb shell again.
PC with both Ubuntu, Windows 7 and Windows 10. I could probably install XP if that would be of any help at all.
Another identical Samsung Galaxy S7. Friend gave it to me since screen was broken. Samsung fixed screen. Empty because Factory reset.
100Mbps internet connection.
What I have tried this far:
Rebooting (a thousand times)
Wipe Cache partition from Recovery Mode (vol up + home + power).
Shut down from Recovery Mode menu and then turning on with power button.
Mount /system (yeah, knew it wouldn't fix anything. Just wanted to see that /system was mountable.)
Tried flashing in "HOME_CSC_NEE_G930FNEE2DRB5_.....tar.md5" with Odin. (downloaded the exact version ADB reports when checking dmesg and / or logcat from sammobile). I read that this could help getting out of bootloop. Important was to use "HOME" and not the other CSC if you wanted to keep phone from going Factory Reset.
Anyone got ideas?
Edit 1: I have connected the phone and am running a logcat, dumpsys and a cat of all "files" under /proc to text-files on my pc.
When checking logcat it looks almost like it has tons of work to do but really never gets finished with the upgrade?
hmmm, get into download mode, reflash with Odin the exact firmware you had before the upgrade, using home CSC, and all the others of course, co, black, ap see if that sort that out
give it a try, and let us know what happens

But wont that blow all my data and apps like a Factory Reset?
no it won't, if you flash CSC_home it will keep your data, if you flash CSC it will delete everything

Ok... fingers crossed...
Files in my firmware-zip I downloaded from Sammobile:
AP_G930FXXU2DRC6_CL12365438_QB17330639_REV00_user_low_ship_meta.tar.md5
BL_G930FXXU2DRC6_CL12365438_QB17330639_REV00_user_low_ship.tar.md5
CP_G930FXXU2DRB6_CL648265_QB8952207_SIGNED.tar.md5
CSC_NEE_G930FNEE2DRB5_CL13061583_QB16917331_REV00_user_low_ship.tar.md5
HOME_CSC_NEE_G930FNEE2DRB5_CL13061583_QB16917331_REV00_user_low_ship.tar.md5
Versions according to logcat run during bootloop:
PDA Version: G930FXXU2DRC6
CSC Version: G930FNEE2DRB5
The only thing that makes me go "hmmmmm" is the BL. Is that the Boot Loader?
yes, bl is bootloader
don't worry, it should work, home_csc remember put all the others in the right place all 4 at the same time

Edit:Boxes are there to be clicked. I suspect that clicking all boxes except AP would a) explain why 4GB AP binary was lightning fast and b) I shouldn't be let near computers
Will be back with an "Edit2" in a short while.

Ok. Ran it and it was done in like secs (no way it pumped 4GB image over USB that quick). Then it went to blue screen claiming erase and patching... and then reboot and here we are... Glowing Samsung Logo.
The blue firmware update screen, what exactly is it updating? Small code that handles firmware upgrade of low level stuff like bootloader?
ok 2DRC6 is the 28.03.18 release
the previous one to that one is
2BRB6 from 13.03.18 both have modem version 2
previous to those ones are v1 so you won't be able to downgrade to them
so download 2BRB6 and flash the 4 files together and see how it goes

You mean flash the files I listed?
I did that, including the AP this time, and it is looping still.
what do you mean ap this time....
you have to flash All 4 files at the same time, tick the boxes, ap, bl, cp and CSC, through Odin
which Odin version are you using?

1. I made a stupid mistake the first time I flashed (after getting your advice) and specified all 4 files in Odin but clicked all but AP and flashed. I didn't see that until I hade written that it was way to fast to have transferred 4GB AP file. When I found out I ran the flash again. This time with all boxes clicked.
2. ODIN v3.13.11
if Odin 3.13. give the same result, flash using 3.1.1.0 hope this last flash you are doing works

It's early morning here now. GOtta get 3 hours of sleep. Will try this in a couple of hours.
Day 2 - Still no positive news
Ok. Reflashing with the firmware i found on Sammobile did not solve the problem. Just did it with all files (home csc and not csc) without luck. Thanks wegiwegi for having the energy and time to help me with this.
Current status
I have ADB access on and off but not fully since the phone is not all the way up f x and running package manager.
Since ADB is disconnected now and then getting logs at bootup is a bit hard.
Questions to anyone reading this:
I would like to get my hands on logswhich shows me everything that happens from the beginning of bootup all the way to a crash / reboot so thatI can see at what point the phone crashes / reboots.
Anyone got any better idea than Odin reflash existing
If I were to flash a bootloader with capability to read / export Internal "SDCard" to my inserted SDCard, would this wipe user data and data / settings is lost?
run out of ideas, hope someone can come with a solution for you, sure the devil is on the detail somewhere, good luck

Hello mindlight,
have you solved the situation?
I'm in exactly the same situation as you after updating my Galaxy S7 SM-G930F with official stock firmware using OTA from G930FXXU2ERGE (Security Patch Level 2018-07-01) to G930FXXS2ERH6 (Security Patch Level 2018-08-01) - both Android 8 Oreo. It was just a small security update about 30 MB in size. After the update I'm stuck with:
led is glowing in blue in sync with the logo SAMSUNG on the screen blinking
phone becomes hot quickly
sometimes I get Optimizing apps dialog after which it restarts and gets back to blinking SAMSUNG logo
What I have tried so far:
wiping cache from recovery mode
flashing G930FXXS2ERH6 firmware (the newer) using Odin (AP, BL, CP, HOME_CSC)
flashing G930FXXU2ERGE firmware (the older) using Odin (AP, BL, CP, HOME_CSC)
But nothing helped. Is there anything else I can do to get it working without losing data or at least back up the data before factory reset? It's still in warranty so I can bring it to the service and they fix it - but of course they wipe all my data.
I tried to remember what I could have done so the update didn't end well (if it is my fault at all). The only thing I can imagine is using QuickShortcutMaker (https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.sika524.android.quickshortcut&hl=en) to create a link to hidden settings activity in which I could enable/disable access to mobile data/WiFi data for every application. I did some changes in this activity and it crashed often.
Thank you
Hi Necik,
No. I actually never solved the issue.
I did remember that I blocked a lot of rights in bundled Samsung apps and hid the ones that it was impossible to uninstall.
I suspect my issues are related to that.
I have also let my S7 stay connected to the charger for like 5 days in a row and it never gets by the state you describe.
I have ADB connection that works and I can retrieve logs but while I can find the words "error" and "fail" in the logs I am not able to make out what errors are critical and which are just errors that are normal and skipped.
I was in luck though because I had two S7's so I am currently using the other one while looking for a solution.
So, if you find out how to solve it or if you "solve" it with a Factory Reset, which I haven't done since I have data on mine that I want to keep, please let me know here.
If I solve it myself I will report back here.

Yes, I did the same - and also for some Google apps. Maybe this is the culprit. But everything I did was done using publicly available settings in the phone (no hacking using adb etc.) so I would expect this should not brick the phone. Except using the hidden activity I mentioned in my previous post.
In the meantime I returned to my still functioning Nokia 6310 . But I guess it won't suffice for a long time.

Hello, I have given up. Flashed CSC instead of HOME_CSC, that made factory reset (contents of internal storage all gone). After that phone booted normally and I had to set everything again, like a new phone from shop.

Good to know. It gives me a slight hope since it a better alternative than the phone is bricked... sadly all data is lost
