[Q] How do I use a mouse with my GS8+ outside of DeX? - Samsung Galaxy S8+ Questions & Answers

I've never had a problem using a mouse with an Android device before, but for some reason when I connect my Microsoft Arc mouse to my GS8+ the mouse cursor doesn't appear (although it does appear on my Moto X Play). I have a VR headset that is better for watching movies than my Gear VR (puts the phone further away from the lenses), but I need to have mouse control for easy use.

Have your tried using the USB adapter that came with the phone? I put the adapter for my Logitech trackball in it and the cursor came up immediately.

Keyboard works too...

I have the Bluetooth version of the Surface Arc Mouse and it works like a champ with my S8+.

Oops, sorry my response was dumb, obviously you can't use the adapter in a VR headset. ?

Did anybody find a solution to this?

Help me setting up PS3 controller for Shadowgun

Hi, so im trying to set up my Playstation 3 Controller for my Samsung Galaxy Tab running 2.3.6 with the required bluetooth protocol. So far i've managed to get him to move around by setting the left analog as Dpad's:
Analog-up: Dpad up.
Analog-down: Dpad down.
Analog-left: Dpad left.
Analog-right: Dpad right.
I can reload by setting R2 as 7.
I can select items/open doors by setting

as 1.
I can shoot by selecting L2 as 8 (for some reason R1 won't work.)
Is there anyone there know how to map the rigth analog stick? Tried to map the analog to the touch profiles, but that didn't work. Or it's just me that dosen't know how to do it ^^
Hope you other guys enjoy this game as much as i do!

[Q] output to tv and monitor

I'm soon to be new to the nexus line.
How do you nexus users like to connect to:
1. A TV
2. A monitor
I have visions of building a dock station equipped with ext hard drive, keyboard, mouse and monitor. Most of which just needs the otg cable and an externally powered USB hub (and maybe some resistor games to force which charging mode the phone enables, some research to be done here too). But I haven't figured out the video output portion yet.
Well the 2013 Nexus 7 had MHL support so we can hope the nexus 5 will be the same but if it has MHL support you should only have to buy a usb to HDMI adapter and it should all work fine
According to the leaked service manual, the Nexus 5 will use Slimport, the same as the Nexus 4:

}
It will support Slimport for wired output and Miracast for wireless.

[Q] Tablet in my car: which devices??

Hello all! I have a project on my mind, but i need some help to choose the right devices to build it.
As far as my multimedia car device is almost broken and i cannot replace it (only with a same one but it is old and un-upgradeable) i would like to install a tablet (which have all the things i need, such audio player, GPS, all upgradeable!!!) but i think is quite difficult, because i have some needs that i don't know if are possible to do.

}
For Tablet i think to buy a Galaxy tab 4.
My questions are:
1. Which USB HUB i should buy? There is a device like the one i would?
2. Which Audio USB cards are compatibile?
3. There is a way to get charging device while usb audio and external usb hdd are working?
Thanks

Help buying NVIDIA SHIELD TV exclusive app

Hello, I've been trying for some time already to buy Metal Gear Solid 3 HD for the SHIELD TV. I don't even care if it ends up not working at all, since I mostly want to peek in with RE tools. However, Google has been making it very difficult for me to buy it.
I've replaced the build.prop file with a Magisk module on my hacked Nintendo Switch running LineageOS (which even uses the Tegra X1 as well) so it thinks it's a SHIELD TV, even the Android Device Manager is seemingly convinced that it is in fact a SHIELD TV:

"lightbox_zoom": "Zoom",
"lightbox_new_window": "New window",
"lightbox_toggle_sidebar": "Toggle sidebar"
}
But Google Play won't budge and insists that my devices are not compatible:
Maybe there's a tool on PC that can help me spoof the device more accurately and download the files straight to my PC?
Any advice is appreciated, thanks!

bluetooth keyboard

Is there a such thing as a bluetooth keyboard designed for android that is about 8" wide and clips to a phone? (Like the way some gamepads do)
there used to be something like this for the s8
unfortunately it didnt sell. on european markets i did not find anything remotely similar. see the chinese market, maybe they made something like that.
I would think that with apps like Termux there would be a market. I can't see how anyone could do any coding or CLI with the on-screen keyboard. I can barely text with it.
Ok, I found something similar to what I'm thinking of:

"lightbox_previous": "Previous",
"lightbox_error": "The requested content cannot be loaded. Please try again later.",
"lightbox_start_slideshow": "Start slideshow",

"lightbox_full_screen": "Full screen",
"lightbox_thumbnails": "Thumbnails",
"lightbox_download": "Download",
"lightbox_share": "Share",
"lightbox_zoom": "Zoom",
"lightbox_new_window": "New window",
"lightbox_toggle_sidebar": "Toggle sidebar"
}
But that's attached to the phone. It would be pretty simple for someone to make an 8" wide bluetooth keyboard with a smartphone clip on it. They made gamepads like that, odd I can't find a keyboard.
