bluetooth keyboard - General Questions and Answers

Is there a such thing as a bluetooth keyboard designed for android that is about 8" wide and clips to a phone? (Like the way some gamepads do)

there used to be something like this for the s8
unfortunately it didnt sell. on european markets i did not find anything remotely similar. see the chinese market, maybe they made something like that.

I would think that with apps like Termux there would be a market. I can't see how anyone could do any coding or CLI with the on-screen keyboard. I can barely text with it.

Ok, I found something similar to what I'm thinking of:
{

"lightbox_next": "Next",
"lightbox_previous": "Previous",
"lightbox_error": "The requested content cannot be loaded. Please try again later.",
"lightbox_start_slideshow": "Start slideshow",

"lightbox_download": "Download",
"lightbox_share": "Share",
"lightbox_zoom": "Zoom",
"lightbox_new_window": "New window",
"lightbox_toggle_sidebar": "Toggle sidebar"
}
But that's attached to the phone. It would be pretty simple for someone to make an 8" wide bluetooth keyboard with a smartphone clip on it. They made gamepads like that, odd I can't find a keyboard.

Broken Buttons

There are many apps that use the same image for on/off type buttons. For some reason these buttons have always looked really off on my phone. Here is what I mean... The way Barnacle SHOULD look:

"lightbox_next": "Next",
"lightbox_previous": "Previous",
"lightbox_error": "The requested content cannot be loaded. Please try again later.",
"lightbox_start_slideshow": "Start slideshow",

"lightbox_thumbnails": "Thumbnails",
"lightbox_download": "Download",
"lightbox_share": "Share",
"lightbox_zoom": "Zoom",
"lightbox_new_window": "New window",
"lightbox_toggle_sidebar": "Toggle sidebar"
}
And this is the way it looks for me:
There are many apps that use these buttons, and so many apps with broken buttons... Anyone have ANY ideas about how to fix this? Thanks!
There must be some easy to fix this. It's driving me crazy. I'm going to try wiping my phone and checking before I reinstall any apps.
I've only scratched the surface on programming for android but I think you would have to unzip the apk and decompile the xml's, edit them, then recompile them back in to binary.
The weird thing is that it's not just this one app, but any app that uses that button image. I wish I could come up with an explanation as to why this is happening at all.

Touch event order - better handling of mouseover/hover

Hi,
Sorry if this has been asked before, but I was wondering if there is an android browser that handles touch and hover/mouseover the way safari does in iOS:
{
"lightbox_close": "Close",
"lightbox_next": "Next",
"lightbox_previous": "Previous",
"lightbox_error": "The requested content cannot be loaded. Please try again later.",
"lightbox_start_slideshow": "Start slideshow",
"lightbox_stop_slideshow": "Stop slideshow",
"lightbox_full_screen": "Full screen",
"lightbox_thumbnails": "Thumbnails",
"lightbox_download": "Download",
"lightbox_share": "Share",
"lightbox_zoom": "Zoom",
"lightbox_new_window": "New window",
"lightbox_toggle_sidebar": "Toggle sidebar"
}
If you try to use a website like John Lewis, or M&S, you will see that mouseover is used a lot to show menus, and touching the mouseover elements jumps you straight to a section you might not want. I'm aware of the workaround that involves touching the element and the sliding off it, but this is a horrible kludge of a workaround. Is there a browser that does this like Safari (above), which IMO is simply a lot better? Seems relatively straightforward (but I'm not a developer, so I wouldn't know).
So am I the only one who has problems with this issue? Judging by the deafening silence in response, I guess so. Which is wierd because it's enough to completely turn my other half off browsing the web with an Android tablet.

[Q] car mod question (tablet replacing the head unit in a 2003 Civic)

I've seen plenty of people pull out their radios and replace them with a tablet; usually a Nexus 7 or similar, as that easily fits into the Double DIN slot most cars have. but that only takes over radio duty. I was wondering if anyone has tried replacing the climate controls as well.

I was thinking since the Radio & A/C cluster is so large, and (for me, anyway) wastes so much space, why not put a large tablet in there, it could probably take a 10" (maybe 12") screen. then the climate buttons and knobs could probably be replaced with an arduino setup.
I haven't even started doing this yet, I was wondering if anyone else had tried this or not

Help buying NVIDIA SHIELD TV exclusive app

Hello, I've been trying for some time already to buy Metal Gear Solid 3 HD for the SHIELD TV. I don't even care if it ends up not working at all, since I mostly want to peek in with RE tools. However, Google has been making it very difficult for me to buy it.
I've replaced the build.prop file with a Magisk module on my hacked Nintendo Switch running LineageOS (which even uses the Tegra X1 as well) so it thinks it's a SHIELD TV, even the Android Device Manager is seemingly convinced that it is in fact a SHIELD TV:
{

"lightbox_next": "Next",
"lightbox_previous": "Previous",
"lightbox_error": "The requested content cannot be loaded. Please try again later.",
"lightbox_start_slideshow": "Start slideshow",
"lightbox_stop_slideshow": "Stop slideshow",
"lightbox_full_screen": "Full screen",
"lightbox_thumbnails": "Thumbnails",
"lightbox_download": "Download",
"lightbox_share": "Share",
"lightbox_zoom": "Zoom",
"lightbox_new_window": "New window",
"lightbox_toggle_sidebar": "Toggle sidebar"
}
But Google Play won't budge and insists that my devices are not compatible:
Maybe there's a tool on PC that can help me spoof the device more accurately and download the files straight to my PC?
Any advice is appreciated, thanks!
