Edit: Turned out it was a ROM and bootloader issue . Reflashing fixed it.
When I was trying to enable android pay, I need to enable pattern for screen lock. And I feel that I cannot really touch the lowest part of the screen,.
So I enable the developer mode and show touch point. And I found that the lowest 5mm of the screen were not response to the touch. there are also 3mm to 5mm dead zone around the edge for other direction. Hows yours?
Edited
I re-tested with a touch pen. And found that only the right screen and the bottom screen has the dead zone.

Can somebody help me please, I tried installing a cab of the HTC Action Screen app from the touch dual on my Herald, after installing I noticed that the top right corner of my screen was not responding to my stylus taps. tried realigning the screen still no joy.
So I uninstalled the app but I still have the screen alignment issue, is there anyway to fix this without a hard reset?
sorry if this is posted in the wrong section as I didnt know if this was just a herald problem or if everybody had this problem?

It could be an old issue with a new device. Back in the day of PPC's it was found that some screen protectors slid under the case of the touch screen causing the screen to not respond appropriately. If you have recently put on a new screen protector or removed one, check the area just beyond the location where it is not responding. You might find something holding the screen down permenantly causing it to not respond. If there is nothing there and none of the things are present, I too am at a loss.
Just an idea.
Did you try a soft reset to remove the remnants of the application you removed?
@Just about right
Dont think it is the screen protector as I have had the same one on since I bought the device (almost a year now) without any problems.
@wovens
yep tried that
Ineterestingly if I open notes and tap the screen I get a dot in the right place, if I tap the top right corner it draws a vertical line downwards from the top right to the bottom. In the meantime what I have done is run the screen alignment, placed the styles in the middle of all '+' except the one in the top right corner. For the one in the top right corner I aimed a little lower than the centre, this allows me to click the X in the top right with the stylus if I aim above the box. not ideal but it will do for now as I dont have the time to reset this week...
I just brought a TP 2 days ago (previously TytnII), cool phone, fast and lots of ram.......but the response of the stylus on the screen is slow and sometimes you have to press harder to get a response , finger touch is great though....... any one has this problem or do i have a faulty device ........
Install AdvancedConfig and in TF section there are 2 settings: "Pressure threshold" and "Finger pressure". Set it to maximum and apply changes. It is much more better.
I read that Pressure Threshold to 41 Finger Pressure to 18 was an optimal setting.
I've tried those settings but I'm still wondering if the touchscreen can be set more sensitive.
I have some trouble hitting scrollbars, especially along the right edge of the screen. I need to press noticeably harder. It may just be inherent with the construction of the screen, I assume the edges need more pressure just because the edges are harder and the center is softer. From what I understand, resistive touchscreens have two layers that need to make contact, so in the center its easier to make the layers touch, on the edges it would be more rigid since the two layers are fastened along the edges.
Anyway I tried lowering the Threshold and Pressure values way down and my screen wouldn't respond any more, I had to use Mobiler to set them back to 41 and 18 through my PC.
Can anyone explain how the Pressure Threshold and Finger Pressure settings work?
I assumed setting the Pressure Threshold very low would make it more sensitive(why not 5 or 10?) and setting Finger Pressure high would make each press register more strongly. Doesn't seem to be the case though.
41 and 18 are very usable and way better than whatever the stock ROM had, but I'm still trying to see whats the most sensitive setting possible.

Use your finger when you do a screen alignment.
Decided to test the multi-touch capabilities of this phone since my last two HTC devices had a very crappy sensor (G1 and Nexus One).
This phone seems to test fine for two fingers but the instant I put down a third finger the apps that shows the hardware inputs stop responding to finger movement and doesnt show the third input. As soon as I lift my third finger, the sensor starts to report the correct position of the two fingers.
Has anyone come across this ? Is it the apps fault or did HTC again cheap out with the digitizer ?
Go into settings, find the screen setting and then touch the 3-finger setting. Then you can use up to 5 fingers.
Know you're phone, before you're judging it.

Excellent.
To clarify: uncheck the 3 finger gesture option.
The phone seems to handle upto 5 inputs now.
Thanks !
I accidentally dropped my OnePlus One and it resulted in a crack that goes from the bottom of the left edge of screen to the right edge of the screen about 3/4 inches from the bottom. Luckily the LCD display still works, but the digitizer (touch) has stopped working in a rectangular area at the bottom of the screen. I now have to use a screen rotation app, combined with on-screen navigation bar (the hardware buttons also are IN that rectangular area) to work with my OPO along with a lot of turning the phone upside down to access all the screen functions.
Today I got to know of the wm size and wm density commands using which I was able to play with the phone's resolution, but whatever I do with these commands, the whole screen area is being used. Would anyone here know of some way to change the usable screen area so the rectangular area at the bottom is ignored for all purposes - i.e. it remains black all the time and everything begins from above this area?
I do have a replacement screen but I don't suppose it is original plus I don't want to risk opening up my phone and putting the replacement.
I'm using CM12 and I've rooted my phone.
Hi,
is it possible to Rotate the Screen 180 Degree?
I want to wear the watch on the right Hand and have the Buttons on the Left Side!
Greetings
I read through the entire owners manual and I did not see anything about switching it. I even tried putting it on my right arm and it didnt recognize being rotated nor did the wake up command work correctly. Unless I'm missing something I don't see a way.
Thank you but this is really disappointing
No option to toggle left or right hands (only right). Silly since Gear Fit can do it.
