TWRP Wont Mount External SD - Honor 8 Questions & Answers

I have the FRD-L14 which I managed to unlock the bootloader and all. Anyways, something must have gone wrong, not it wont boot, so I'm trying to go back to stock ROM for it (found a version off the net).
Put the ZIP onto an SD Card (Formated to FAT32), and get into TWRP 3.0.2-0, which won't see the external SD (no mount option).
What do I do?
I can't mount the phone to the computer either since the computer doesn't recognize it as a device.
Thanks!

CWM & Andriod not mounting External sd card

i was trying to flash to 4.1 today and when i went into CWM and install from zip it said "E: unable to mount /sdcard" i was able to flash by moving the rom to internal storage but even in android it still does not recognize the sd card.
I also had this issue
and from some internet searching, it seems to be that when I accidentally told ROM Mngr to install CWM, because I was moving too fast, it installed a version that didn't recognize external storage. I ODIN'd in the CWM Touch and everything is now up to snuff.

Phone not booting after SD card got fried!?

My sd card is fried. I tried loading it on my pc with no luck. I am planning to go and get another one. However, will the phone still boot without the system files that were on the sd card? If not how can I fix it.
Thanks
"If your problem is that you cannot mount the SDCard (as opposed to being able to mount it but it is empty) I ran into something similar during my 2nd ROM flashing experience. I got into this state by doing a factory wipe from the bootloader screen (as opposed to doing it from recovery). This wiped my entire SDCard partition, even the filesystem on it. So when I booted into Android, it failed to mount the SDCard altogether, saying that it was corrupted.
I had to re-format the SDCard from Windows in order to recover, by doing the following:
1. Boot into recovery (for me was TWRP 2.1.8.1)
2. Select "Mount"
3. Checkmark "Mount SDCard"
4. Connect device to PC via USB cable
5. Select "Mount USB Storage" in TWRP
6. On the PC, find the SDCard's drive in My Computer, right-click on it, and select "Format"
7. Proceed with formatting the SDCard ("Quick Format" is fine)
8. Safely remove the USB storage from Windows
9. Reboot the device
Upon rebooting, the SDCard mounted fine, although all data was erased."

Will this work for me if i get a fresh sd card and follow these steps?
yes, but, make sure you uninstall all apps from the sd card before you insert the new microsd

Click to collapse
Well, yes im hoping to get a new fresh sd card with nothing in it. Another thing, I removed the fried sd card and now the phone is booting. I hope it continues with a new sd card in it.

help! i have an htc one s and i tried to download a rom but when i downloaded it, it stops in the htc logo, i try to do the procedure again but it didint worked. now i cannot enter to recovery and i cant turn on my device. it says sd card cannot mount
you can flash stock recovery and then "clear storage" from bootloader. card should then be mountable
also, if you have an sdcard bu on pc, you could reformat card after you can mount. just to help with future issues

Help! Device in TWRP no OS and completely wiped storage. Cant access storage on PC

I was installing a rom and for some reason it wiped my whole tablet. Now I only have twrp and cant get my PC to detect it to load a new rom. Any advice?
Take your SD card and put into card slot of PC. Load your rom.zip into the SD card. Reinsert into tablet, boot into recovery and install the rom.zip from the sd card.

No SD Card after SuperSU 2.78

Apparently SuperSU has an issue with changing the fstab and not mounting the SD card on boot, from the research I have done. Now I know will you will say reflash with RUU and just flash a different SuperSU.
The issue is I only have access to Apple Macbooks and even with Bootcamp, I only have Windows 10 which wont load the latest RUU (gets to accept TOS, then stops)
Does anyone have any suggestions to get the External SD Card?
Ok, Figured it out.
Not sure why, but I put the SD card in my computer. Copied the files off it. Formatted the card and put it back in the device. It does not show up as SDCard2, like normal, but I can see it in the /storage directory now and it is accessible to all programs.
