i was trying to flash to 4.1 today and when i went into CWM and install from zip it said "E: unable to mount /sdcard" i was able to flash by moving the rom to internal storage but even in android it still does not recognize the sd card.
I also had this issue
and from some internet searching, it seems to be that when I accidentally told ROM Mngr to install CWM, because I was moving too fast, it installed a version that didn't recognize external storage. I ODIN'd in the CWM Touch and everything is now up to snuff.

The SD Card will not mount in CWM. I've reflashed CWM 4.0.0.2 with NVFLASH to internal and external and nothing. Any suggestions???
I've also tried multiple SD cards.
actually i got it to work now. you have to install the LG drivers
Hey Guys
I am eager to use the revolver rom supplied here-so i downloaded it and started in recovery mode.
the problem is i cannot mount my sd. I read in the forum that i should format my sd. then i try to do this in clockwork it gives me the same error cannot mount sd card
i have clockworck v3.1.0.1
any suggestions?
Thank you.
use a small sd card, 2gb or less
In the process of upgrading ICS ROM's I think I messed up my CWM recovery (3.2.0.1)
I mistakenly formatted staging and pretty much everything else that can be formatted within the mounts and storage part of CWM.
Now recovery cannot see my Micro SDCard, it can't mount it either. Nor can I mount USB storage.
I tried installing the nvflash version of the rogue recovery, then reflashed the older 3.2.0.1 recovery from Roach to see if that would reset things, but I'm still having the same issues with not being able to access my MicroSD card.
I want to stick with this recovery as I don't like having all the various ROM files on the internal card (which is why I bought a 32GB external that I can keep all of the stuff I download from XDA).
So my current attempt is to go back to HC by using the revolver NVFlash, which I am hoping fixes my recovery also.
EDIT: this didn't resolve things for me either!! Argh! Still can't mount the MicroSD card.
If it doesn't, can anyone offer suggestions?
Thanks!
The Team Rouge recovery read from external micro sd card as well.

Thanks...but for some reason my TF can't mount the MicroSD (external) anymore, whether it's Roach 3.2.0.1 or Team Rogue.
I've nvflashed back to revolver 3.11 HC, and the SD card shows up fine in the ROM, but not in recovery.
Something has gone wrong and I am not sure how to resolve.
I wonder if putting the device completely back to stock (unrooted also) would help?
I would try and format your sd card again on a PC, try sd formatter
https://www.sdcard.org/consumers/formatter_3/SDFormatterv3.0.zip
Just copy the content of the micro sd card to a pc, format and copy it back.
So I got the 32Gb samsung Sd card. Had a 16Gb in my phone. Wife had 8Gb in her skyrocket. Took my 16Gb card, copied all data to PC, then put 32Gb in my phone. Copied all data from pc to new 32Gb card on my phone. All good. Then took wifes phone, copied all data to pc. Installed my 16Gb in her phone, erased all data. Installed all her data off pc to 16Gb card. All seems good. We both have the Skyrocket SGIII R4 on phones with CWM recovery. HER phone will recognized SD card in CWM. MY phone cant mount SD card in CWM. Why wont my phone with new SD see it in CWM? Do I need to format it through windows?
SD card works in all other aspects...connects to windows, restores from mybackup pro....Put the 16Gb back in my phone with all her data, and CWM will let me install fron SD card.
What format is the sdcard on, fat32?
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I727 using Tapatalk 2
Yes. I took it out of package and put in phone, says FAT32 on pc
Tried formatting thru phone and copy data back on, but same thing. CWM says cant moun E sd card...
Tried reinstalling CWM. Wont mount sd card
What CWM are you using?
Try using this one: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1566613
And make sure the microsd clicks with the spring when you insert it on your phone.
Flashed that in odin, booted into recovery, chose install zip from sd, select. Then it just flash the clockword screen over and over every 3 seconds....
Went back to CWM i think 5.0.2.6. And sd card "clicks" in place.
BUT....I went to mounts and storage in CWM, and chose mount sd card. Went back to install zip from sd....and boom, theres all my zips!

Haha nice, I had a problem with the later CWM not detecting my sdcard so I went and flashed back to the old one and it worked just fine, didnt really have to remount but I guess that was needed on your end. :good:
So my g2x wasnt mounting my INTERNAL sd memory in CWM so then I reflashed it to the internal nandroid CWM with oneclick tool NOW I can acually mount it on USB and I formatted the internal to FAT32 on my computer there are NO files on it and no ROM is loaded on the phone. I still cannot mount the SD in CWM. Im using CWM 4.0.1 Internal SD nandroid support. PLEASE ive been looking all over.

Use oneclickflasher to flash clockwordmod touch. Install a rom, and format the internal sd. Try seeing if it recognized under cwm touch (remember, when you hit install zip in cwm touch click the option use internal memory)
I advise using clockwork 5.0.2.0. That's the most stable and actually for our phones and not a port.
There have been issues with certain kernels with other recoveries and it's better to be safe than sorry.
