Hello guys, I will try to be directly.
I don't know where else to go to get help. I'm outside a country that have support for pixel, so I'm alone. I have this **** mic issue that makes me crazy. Google says it's a hardware problem, but just do a safe mode reset, the microphone works again for some minutes, and then stop. I don't want to turn my cellphone in trash.
Google says "is a hairline crack in the solder connection on the audio codec". Can I get access to it and fix? Anybody know a method or any idea to fix it?
I will appreciate any help, thanks!

you have to get the phone replaced. you should be able to use a headset mic until you can find a way to get it replaced.
Where did you buy it from? Surely they have to provide a warranty if they sold it to you. If there is a hairline crack I'm sure you can find somewhere online to do it but it sounds far too fiddly to do yourself.
Don't do it yourself. Plus, you'd void your warranty if there is one. Just got my phone replaced due to this issue.
Yeah, there is the warranty. But I cracked my screen, and Google says that this make me lost the warranty. I'm sure that is not the problem that affects the microphone, because the many pixel with this mic issue.
I think I just lost my phone, now I prefer a cell phone from China due a cell phone from Google.

Google will honor the warranty if you get the screen repaired from an authorized repair center such as ubreakifix.

N5 took a nasty fall that broke the screen, loudspeaker, and back cover. I replaced the screen/digitizer as well as the loudspeaker on my nexus 5 and performed a factory reset. N5 is on 4.4.4. I am able to see the screen fine, but I am not able to get any sound (even from headphones).
I am also not able to get any audio/video apps to work. This includes the youtube app. It will go to the video and just given an error that there was a problem playing the video. I can also access other websites like yahoo video and it just errors when trying to play.
Has anyone seen/heard of anything like this happening? I am wondering if there is additional hardware damage from the fall although I don't see any missing chips or anything on the motherboard.
Flash the factory images and see if it fixes it?? If not, hardware issue is the answer. You should have just sold off the device on craigslist and bought a new one instead of replacing all these things IMO.

Yea the problem was. Screen broke and I wanted the 1000's of pictures off of the phone. It was worth the $129 to repair the screen. I guess the drop damaged something else on the phone that you can't see. It's possible since the loudspeaker was broken that it damaged the flex cable... although I am doubting as the phone is able to charge while plugged in and the screen is working normally (all of this is going over the flex cable).
The fact that the headphones aren't working is a bit odd and leaves me to believe that there is something going on with the audio hardware. It's okay I bought another phone since the N5 broke. I just needed the old data.
Hi! After repairing my Nexus 5 from a water damage (changed all components except the screen and back cover), the phone shows that I have good celluar signal, but no service. The celluar data is working, but I cant make calls and send SMS. I have checked with different antennas, but with no change. What is wrong? Thank you
Well,
Hard to tell. Maybe a hardware issue with the motherboard ? (this coud explain why somebody sold it to you )
I wonder how much you paid for the replacement of all these components...
Have to say....water is evil and replacing things often ends up with discovering more is damaged. In the end, replacing water damaged devices usually ends up being the better choice.
Flash stock and if still no go, it's hardware. Try another radio maybe.
Not much else you can do.

I'll second it. Pretty much out of options now. This is the reason water damage is so frowned upon by then OEMs.

It worked fine for 2 weeks after I repaired it, but then I suddenly lost the service. I paid 170 dollars for a new phone with cracked screen and replaced all the components except the screen...
Try dialing *#*#4636#*#* and go into phone information, if you have your phone on LTE when you scroll down you will find LTE only, click on it and try changing it to different things
Hello guys
I need serious help here
This is my scenario: Day1:
I heard about this flashing custom roms so i thought it would be cool trying it with my phone. So i successfully did flash some roms and had recover many times after bootloop bcuz of nandroid.
But this time its different i try to install xposed installer and was currently using a custom rom. So i got bootlooped again but i wasn't worried cuz i have the powerful nandroid backup . So i restored my stock rom blah3x and it says successful then i reboot my phone . But the logo didnt show up so i tried to go to recovery again AND suddenly it just go back to this useless stock recovery HUHUHU :crying: idont even know why they make this useless ---- errr..
Day 2:
And this day i found this Sp flash tool blah3x . And as what i learned i need a full backup rom and obviously i don't have it and theres no link for it bcuz its very unknown and unsupported device. But luckily i got the scatter file bcuz, before i was using MDK Droid tools to do things that i dont even know how to . So i tried to flash just the recovery . The one i flashed is the TWRP that i've been using for flashing rom and it was stuck in red bar so i unplugged the cable and reboot to recovery but its still the same. And then i was pissed off , so i click the format all + download and i think i saw a text that shows it was success ful( I DID THAT BCUZ I DIDN'T EXPECT IT WILL HAPPEN). After that i cant reboot to recovery and the phone all i have now is this white light when i plug the phone to pc with/without battery. Its hard-bricked right? am i right?
But i think i have some advantage,
-Im still under warranty
-And i formatted everything in my phone as you can see in Day 2 scenario, so that means that they cant know that im rooted right? am i right?

Maybe it depends. They might be able to know you did tamper with the phone.

 Seriously? Worst case scenario they'll void your warranty and ask you to pay for the repair or they will send you back the phone as is.

I don't know anything about this company's policies but in general, if your phone is bricked because you did something wrong and they can prove it, they will probably not repair it under warranty but most likely ask you to pay for the repair or they will send you back the device as is if you don't pay.
Its the same for most OEMs. If something broke under warranty, they will repair at no cost. If it break because you did something that void your warranty, they'll ask you to pay for the repair, if they can prove it (e.g. If the phone can't power on, then they can't prove anything, if the phone does power on and they can see you have flashed stuff, then they'll most likely charge you for the repair.)

If it's dead and you want to make sure it really doesn't boot up you could always format it with a very strong magnet. No physical traces and every chip in your phone will be blank.. But it's also irreversible. But it could also fall under rule number 3..

Hey guys,
My mic and headset are not working at all when making or recieving calls. When I restart my phone it works for a while but it reoccurs after few minutes. I tried reflashing and wiping my phone still it's persistent. I get bluish greenish lines flickering at the screen rarely which does does cause the screen to freeze sometimes. Any help? Is it a software or hardware isssue?
Thanks in advance
My mic stopped working this week. Talked to support and they got me a new phone should be here monday or tuesday. Still inside of the one year warranty. I was on beta O came back to 7.1.2 still did not work. it is a hardware malfunction. Its weird because ok google works but i have to yell at the phone for it to hear me. I have a buddy that has a similar issue to what you have going on. He drops his all the time so I am assuing that is why his is broke. If you have the extended warranty through google just use that its no cost.
Having issues as well, though a little different. When I plug in a wired headset - but only one with a mic - things go haywire. The volume starts gradually going down, and the Google Assistant screen comes up.
Sounds like this is a hardware issue, so need to start the return process. Problem is, I am not the original owner. The original owner said she bought it direct from Verizon in November. So still under warranty. Do I need a receipt or do they just go my the IMEI or serial number?

Just the IMEI and serial. When they ask for the account associated with the pixel just give them your gmail account that you signed into the pixel with.
I had the same problem, thought it was a software problem but then it wasn't, talked with Google support and they shipped out my replacement phone!! Within 2 days I got it and ever since then it worked fine!
I didn't had warranty but they made an exception for this one time so I was blessed!!
this is odd. i have the same issue. I can get it back temporarily by rebooting... didn't start for me until yesterday.
I have got a Pixel at relatively cheap price recently. Everything works perfectly except the there are problem at earpiece and earphone jack. I can't hear anything from the earpiece when using the build-in phone app or any other phone application. I originally think of hardware problem. But the strange thing is, if I play record message in whatsapp, I can hear the recording from the earpiece! I have tried some hardware testing app download from google play, some app crush when testing the earpiece while some could play sound with the earpiece. Another issue is there is no sound at the earphone jack. However, when I use the hardware testing, the earphone jack actually work! I have tried to contact google but since I am at a country without google playstore, they can offer no assistance. And they say they did not receive any similar report. Google just ask me to find some local workshop to fix it since I don't the warranty anyway. But if it is a problem with the motherboard, I don't think local workshop can fix without changing a new one. I have try some some of the custom Rom and kernel, but nothing works.
Does anyone have the same issue and got a solution to it?Or Maybe it is a hardware problem? I hear some people it is a manufacturing flaw on the motherboard.
Thanks.
I have the very same problem, again. My old Pixel got that bug and now my replacement as well. Makes me think, that it is Android Pie related.
Have you ever tried safe mode or done factory reset? I have encountered same issue, and got fixed by a local guy. please check my previous thread for more detailed info.

I have tried safe mode and done factory reset but still not working. Where did you find the guy and how he fix it?
I am currently using a Bluetooth headphone and it works alright.
The guy is in China.
After the earphone was fixed and last almost half a year, I got a new issue. I was traveling in Dubai, suddenly the phone became very hot and can not turn on screen. I had to long press the power key to turn it off.
After that, I never powered the phone on
Finally, I found another guy and got the phone fixed.
So, Damn google. I will never buy a pixel phone until it launches months later
