I have a galaxy a5,it is a live demo unit SM-A500xz.
I have flashed the official SM-A500F firmware with Odin and it was successful.
Now the phone shows SM-A500F in bootloader and software, when booting it doesen´t say live demo unit.
I have insert a sim card and the icon with no sim card disappeared but no network.
I have another A5 with a dead pcb,if i write the imei from the dead pcb will it work ?

I have an XZ unit, yesterday i've tried to flash the XU (ITV) Firmware, but didn't start...
I will also try with the F version and see...
Any body ?
Sadly i don't have anymore the A5 to test, i was stucked at almost your same point.
I checked the efs, there isn't the nv_data.bin file...
But you can try to set a new IMEI with EFS_Professional.
I had this idea only yesterday, but i just was without the phone to test...
Let me know if it work or not
PS: Sorry for my bad english!
Hi, I have exactly the same pattern .. can you help me with the IMEI? . the next steps? ... thanks

Hey All,
Just bought a second hand s6 g920 and the back of the phone says g920F but the software on it says G920p. How can this even happen and how can i fix it?
i'd rather have g920F firmware as that is the international one and has more xda community support.
thanks in advance
Same problem... can anyone help?

DOWNLOAD FIRMWARE OF SM-G920F from sammobile.com and flash it thorugh odian. it is quite easy.
most likely the previous owner has damaged the phone and back glass was replaced.
Put phone in download mode anf check the model number (it cannot be changed ).. Its easy .. Just use a little your brain...

Looks like your model is N920V, Verizon model with a custom rom on it. You should be able to flash verizon firmware without issue
but how could he have a custom Rom on a verizon model???

I don't think it is a custom rom, I think It is a modified Stock Verizon Rom. Sm N920f doesn't exist as an original model as Samsung didn't do an European version of the Note5, phone info also said that is not refurbish. if you look at the phone details as I earlier posted you will see a mixup of Both N920f and N920v, I am just looking to hear from someone who as done it before, I don't want to brick this phone, I just got it.
same problem
i have same problem when i check about on devices its show N920F but when i check it using Phone Info Samsung it show N920V
if i flash it using N920V firmware, it will lock network to verizon? i use indonesian sim on it now.
if that locked to verizon how to unlock it again like now i used
Thanks for your help
I took a risk and flashed stock nougat (i found link on xdadevelopers website) on my so called n920f. Actually phone is not N920F, firmware was modifed to remove the branding. Its actually N920V.
To conclude, I flashed nougat 7.0 and its working perfectly, without any issue. I was worried regarding carrier locking after flashing the stock nougat, but it didn't as verizone says they don't lock LTE phones.

im from philippines. i tried my note 5 to update but stock in lollipop then i found out that its from verizon the real model is sm 920v and it was a custom rom of sm 920f. i read some replies here and im waiting for if i could flash nougat rom in sm 920v since its verizon does it can access the network signal
hope someone could help me this.
From N920F to N920V just download and install "Samsung Smart Switch" software on your PC, open the application and connect your phone to PC, click "MORE" , choose "Emergency Software Recovery & Initialization" then follow the instruction. It will reset to factory setting and upgrade the latest firmware (Nougat 7.0). The firmware is carrier unlock.

Yes, Smart Switch will do an OTA update automatically, no need ODIN because your phone has reset to normal factory setting with phone model N920V, no more N920F.
