Is the xz dual compatible with qc 3.0? - Sony Xperia XZ Questions & Answers

Hello Guys.
I bought a xz dual and i wanna but a Quick charge 3.0 charger but i'm afraid the my model is not compatible with qc like My old Z3+ dual was not. Can someone tell me if xz dual model is compatible with qc 3.0?
Kind Regards,

XZ is compatible with QC 3, I've been using qc 3 car charger for quiet some now.
Although it's not THAT fast compare to the regular charger.

Also after 60% battery charging goes slower to better preserve the battery (presumably)

Qualcomm Quick charge 2.0

Has anyone found a QC 2.0 Charger, used one and seen results? Another thread i was reading earlier this week said they got one from rakuten. Given that Docomo has QC 2.0 chargers from any news i've read about QC 2.0 its no surprise the only ones i could find were on rakuten. Heres one for example http://global.rakuten.com/en/store/getplus/item/2538293/ . So i was curious if anyone has found any QC 2.0 chargers and used them with results good or bad.
bump . . . I'd like to know this as well, if the S5 is able to have this feature or if not; figure out if it's software or (hopefully not) a hardware restriction.
I think I read somewhere that only the japan version of the S5 has fast charge ability. Hope I'm wrong tho.
I was not able to conform or test, but some said it does include it: http://www.zdnet.com/qualcomm-is-a-big-winner-inside-samsungs-galaxy-s5-7000027981/
and the Quick charge 2.0 feature itself is part of the Snapdragon 801 CPU https://www.qualcomm.com/products/snapdragon/processors/801
DoCoMo (Japan carrier) has officially enabled the Quick Charge 2.0 on their handsets, including the Galaxy S5. The power adapter is for sure different, and I am not aware of any firmware change.
Anyone with a Quick Charge 2.0 charger care to test ?

I got a quick charge 2.0 charger from pure gear "Extreme charger" it will not charge any faster than the stock charger about 0.5% per min. The stock does closer to 1% per min or just over.
This maybe a hardware restriction of the usb 3.0 port??

Doesn't the battery need to be quick charge "ready"? Im sorry if it sounds dumb, i don't know much about this tech and batteries, but i thought it was a combination of phone hardware+charger+battery.
Okay base on my sort of "research" quick chargers are sort of smart.. they communicate with the phone on what kind of power it wants. In the current S5 software or hardware, it's saying that it's only capable of 2 amps and 5 volts thats why it won't charge quickly and at the same time it won't break your phone on overvoltage or overcurrent when using Qualcomm certified quickcharge 2.0 chargers.
"The Qualcomm Quick Charge Charger interface IC detects commands from the Quick Charge 2.0-enabled mobile device via the USB cable, then communicates with the PWM primary-side controller and configures the power adapter output voltage."

So in that case, a firmware update is required to enable quickcharge? It might come with lollipop!
However, does anybody know if the japanese s5 has a different battery?

This article shows a lot of hardware was made by qualcomm in the S5 (power management and chipset). Is it possible Samsung was waiting for the Note 4 to sell their own quick charger? Or perhaps create a larger impact with 2 Quick Charge phones in the market?

Of course yes...2.1 amps ang 5 volts is Qualcomm's Quick charge 1.0 and S5 is fully compatible with that

I tried my friend 2.4 amp charger with my galaxy s5 but it didn't charge at all thats why i am asking if any one is already using

I've found out some chargers do not work with S5.. and I don't know why...specifically wall chargers with 2.4amps
Does the galaxy s5 supports quick charge 2.0 can we use quick charge 2.0 chargers

G900L
does this work with intl versions or g900L perhaps?
This may be a little late, but I tried using my Qualcomm quick charge 2.0 charger (motorola turbo charger) on the S5 and it didn't quick charge on the G900A variant... It could be a software limitation, hopefully not a hardware one.
If you use a custom kernel that has fast charge.
when will samsung implement fast charge for us carriers?

Does Z3 D6633 support quick charge 2.0 ??

Hi Z3's fans
I have a question which I 've asked in ( Sony forums ) and ( Qualcomm's facebook page )
My question is :
Does Z3 dual model ( D6633 ) support quick charge 2.0 or not !!!?????
Sony support team said that quick charging is just special for Japanese models and they said :
D6633 supports neither Quick Charge 1.0 or Quick Charge 2.0
Qualcomm at first said yes but when I asked about D6633 didn't answer ..
Do you have any idea about this ?
please help ,, I appreciate that so much
:fingers-crossed:
I have the D6603 model and purchased a quick charge charger. It charges my phone from 45% to 89% percent in 45 minutes. It's takes the phone about 1 hour and a half to charge from empty to full.

usb port.
First of all, sorry to bring this months old thread back to life, but at least to me, this question is left unanswered even though I looked it up here on XDA.
I have just bought a Xperia Z3 Dual (D6633) and I'm considering getting a Quick Charge 2.0 outlet.
Thus, can anyone please confirm whether the Z3 Dual is compatible with QC 2.0?
Thanks in advance.
.I have a D6633 and a generic charger bought from a phone shop (a good one though)
I never timed the charging but it does charge the phone fairly quickly. I would say i can charge it from 0 to full in a couple of hours.
Does that mean it supports quick charge? I don't know but for me it does it fairly quickly especially I don't leave my phone goes completely flat.
and finally it does that through either ports (usb or magnetic).

I am not sure whether it does fully... Let me explain:
I have a Galaxy Note 4 and the QC2 charger that came with it as well as another brand QC2 charger bought on amazon.com
When I attach the Note 4 to either charger (with a USB voltmeter in between), I get 9V and 1.5 A until 85% charge, then down < 1A for the rest.
D6633 (HK software installed) with both 4.4.4 and the new 5.0.2 firmware, starts with 5V (similar to the Note 4), then ramps up to 9V but cannot get any higher than 0.7 A. The original charger that came with the D6633 says 1.5A on it so theoretically, you get more power from that than the QC2 charger.
I am not sure whether it is a software issue or not and how to enable it.
Just an observation.
Thanks for your input, onurd.
Well, getting more A on the original charger than the QC 2.0 charger is actually odd. Why/how could that be?
Anyways, if not allowing the QC 2.0 charge is a Kernel limiting issue, modifying the original Kernel could make it happen, couldn't it? I know barely nothing about programming, but logically speaking, that does make sense...
I know it is odd but it doesn't look like that the device is "requesting" more amperage from the charger. So using a regular (or the original charger) over the QC2 charger makes more sense (5V x 1.5 A = 7.5 W vs 9V x 0.7 A = 6.3 W)
I do think is it a software issue but I don't know to "enable" it. Does anybody with an unlocked bootloader on CM 12 has a different experience maybe?

Fast charging!??

Ok so I'm looking at the z3 specs page on gsmarena and notice it states on there that the z3 has quick charge 2.0, 60% battery in 30mins!
So, why is my z3 charging at the pace of a slug!??. We are talking more like 10% in 30mins charge!
Don't you need a compatible charger for this feature?
Sent from my Nexus 7 using XDA Free mobile app
You need a Qualcomm Quickcharge 2.0 certified/supportive charger. The Tenergy one on Amazon is cheap and has good reviews. I use my regular charger however.
Oh right, sorry guys, didn't no you need a special charger for it! Would have thought Sony would have provided one

[Q] Sony CP-AD2 USB AC Adaptor quick charger

Hi guys, Lollipop Stock rom seems to take longer to charge battery from 0-100 when compared to that of kitkat. (more than 3 hrs) . I dont know whether this is related to electric supply from boards in my home or not.
I am trying to buy Sony CP-AD2 USB AC Adaptor quick charger but need reviews before buying this. Is anyone using this ?? or used in the past ? Is this compaitable with Xperia Z3 and faster ??
Also suggest me if there are any quick chargers available in the market other than sony one (Z3 supports qualcomm quick charge 2.0) ???
