hihonor community removed? - Honor 8 Questions & Answers

Hello,
I've noticed that the HiHonor community has been removed ( https://community.hihonor.com/ ). All messages have been deleted. Has anyone received a message/notification regarding its removal?
Links in HiCare app also lead to the same non-existing community, indicating that this has not been so carefully planned.
A new(?) thing called "Honor Club" is now linked on the website under "Community", but there is no associated forum. Tbh, the forum itself didn't add much of a value anyway, however I don't know if this is a sign of bigger changes in general..

Suggestion: Dangerous programs sticky thread.

This is a suggestion / request to the mods as well as an invitation to all site members to contribute any info they have on this.
At the moment there are no real viruses for windows mobile devices, only a few proofs of concept.
But I have encountered a few examples of supposedly normal commercial software that I really wouldn't want installed on my phone.
Example 1:
A while back a small company (who's name I no longer remember) sent a letter to all its customers threatening that the anti-piracy protection on their software will damage your bootloader if a cracked version of one of their apps is discovered on your phone.
Example 2:
It was reported a while back that Agile Messenger sent user names and passwords for all messenger services unencrypted through the net potentially giving anyone access to your accounts.
Example 3:
While reading the EULA for Opera Mini I discovered it sends users phone number and all their browsing data (cookies, history, cache) to the Opera ASA server basically spying on your internet activities.
Unfortunately all the threads dealing with these otherwise nice and useful apps have now moved deep in to site history so any new users or just someone who haven't been on the site for a while is likely to miss them.
My proposal is this:
Create a sticky locked thread, I think the general section would be most appropriate, so anyone visiting the site would be able to see the list of programs he might want to avoid.
Why lock the thread?
As I understand it moderators can still edit locked threads any time they want so there are two reasons to keep it locked from the general public:
1) To keep the list clear and easily readable.
I am sure many people will want to comment on the software even if it is just to say "how dare they do this?", but any comments / questions would be better off in separate threads.
2) To be fair to the software creators.
I think that anyone making a claim against a software should provide some minimum proof. Like the email quoted in example one, comm log dump or screen shots. At the very list confirmation from other users.
This site has a lot of impact on the mobile community and it would be a shame if a wrongfully accused software would suffer due to being publicized as damaging here.

[PROJ] XDA-Marketplace! (New Devs, same basic idea)[Looking for Support]

Cyclonezephyrxz7 is starting up a new XDA Marketplace for Android and Windows Mobile devices. Please check out the original thread for more information.
The address for the new marketplace will be http://www.xda-mp.com
The link to the original thread is:

UPDATE
Hello Everyone over on the ANDROID Forums,
Although I am not the OP of this thread, I am the main developer behind the new XDA-MarketPlace. I am here with a major update.
I haven't been posting much on this thread because I have been mainly working in the Windows Mobile one. Let me fill you in.
The website is quickly nearly completion. I was unable to hit my original goal of the New Year, but I have been doing my best to complete as fast as possible, while maintaining good code.
Many pages of the site are in fact done already. The pages that have yet to be finished are the User and Profile pages. The submission page is being RE-DONE.
Now, I haven't mentioned much of this over here ... but what I do need for YOU is to contact the developers of your programs and tell them to shoot me a PM with their E-Mails, or just telling me that they are interested in being alerted when the site is about to go up. This way, we can start the site with some applications!
Now, I have been feeling really crumby about not having the website out yet. I want you to know I HAVE NOT GIVEN UP ON THIS AT ALL. It has been taking me a lot of time. BUT I feel like I don't have any push because I have had at most 2 or 3 developers contact me. This website cannot exist with only 3 developers. I do need the member base to start this, so it can start off with a boom.
I ask for all of your support to make a cross-platform marketplace work for the community! I need it now more than ever
If you have comments, PLEASE POST THEM IN THE WINDOWS MOBILE THREAD [see the first post on this thread for a link] SO EVERYTHING CAN BE CENTRALIZED.
Thank You

Untangle Block from link posted by developer

I recently purchased an Ainol Novo 8, and decided to do a search and see what ROM's are out there for the device. Google came with the below thread at the top of the list. When I clicked on the link provided by the dev, apparently which goes to his website, containing his ROM for the device. My Untangle server blocked the website with a Malicious Content Warning. See the attached screenshot of the warning, below is the link to the thread and a link to Untangle in case you are not familiar with it. I have used Untangle for many years, and have never had a false positive, it is open source and a commercial application, they are very diligent in their work.
This is disconcerting, if this developer is attempting to install malicious code into browser's that visit his website, what is he putting in his rom's? I certainly hope it is a false positive, Administrators can certainly contact Untangle directly and get their opinion. I think for right now, I will stay away from this website and it's developers, until I am fully assured that no malicious intent is intended.

[Completed] [Q] Request to link Android app to website

I am posting in this forum because i have given up trying to find an answer to this perplexing problem. As explained below i have searched and asked everywhere with no results at all. Hope you can get this going for me ...
I have this message from The Google Play Team in my Webmaster Tools Dashboard/Messages ...
Google Play: Your link request has been sent Mar 18, 2015
Dear developer of com.webs.mdawdy.HTMLSpy,
Your request to link Android application com.webs.mdawdy.HTMLSpy has been sent to the webmaster of http://www.freewebs.com/mdawdy/. You will be notified again when it is approved.
Sincerely,
The Google Play Team
Two questions ...
1. That was a week and a half ago and i have not received an approval notification so i am unsure if i have missed some detail?
2. I have another app in the app store that i wish to link as well. However, i have no idea how or where i sent the link request referenced in the message?
I understand that i do not own the root and i am not the webmaster at www.freewebs.com where i host my website, but i suppose depending on how you interpret terminology i am the webmaster of my website there. But i do not know if that is a problem as i have not been able to find even a single person who is familiar with this message. And it is curious that this has occurred for just one of my two apps.
I have been all over Google Play, Google Webmasters, my website FAQs, general Google search, Google Play Developer Console, various forums including XDA and Android Central, and FAQs for several days now and i have not found any information or source for this message. I would really like to know how it came about so that i can deal with it. I think that i did not explicitly make the request, that it is an side effect of something that i did. The closest i can think of is in the Google Play Developer Console where i list my website, but i find nothing there about making a link.
Anyway, if you have any info at all about this, about linking your play store app to your website, please let me know.
Any help appreciated,
Mick
Perhaps i should explain a little better what info i have received ...
At Google Webmaster i was told it is a Google Play problem since that is where the message originated and that i should go there.
At Google Play there is no forum for developers; none of the info and FAQs relate to this topic
At Android Central they said it is a user forum not developers, suggested xda
The general Google search turned up info about links between lots of things but not developer apps and websites
Nothing on this topic in the help forums at freewebs
I posted two days ago in one of the xda forums - 25 views no replys ...

It is a mystery.
Hi
Thanks for writing to us at XDA Assist. Unfortunately XDA Assist isn't a general helpdesk area, our purpose is to point people who don't know where to post in the right direction. You can read more about our purpose in the sticky thread at the top of the front page of XDA Assist:
The Purpose of XDA Assist [Please Read]
So really, all we would be doing here would be directing you to post your question in the place that you've already posted it here:
xda-developers > App Development Forums > Marketing, Distribution, and Analytics > App Stores > [Q] request to link Android app to website
We can't force people to reply to threads, everybody is here on a volunteer basis so it's really a matter of waiting for somebody to help you out. It's within the XDA rules to bump your thread once every 24 hours, this will move your thread back to the top of the list and gain it some exposure in the hope that someone will reply.
No response in two days, thread closed, thanks.

Huawei HiCare - "Forum" tab but they don't exist

Exploring my new Mate 9, I opened the HiCare app, and it has useful information on how to use the phone. It also has tabs along the top, one of which is Forums. In that, it has links to a Huawei Forum, and to a Facebook "forum". I thought that might be an interesting way to find out more about the phone and get tips on using it.
However, the Huawei Forum merely takes me to the Huawei support page (actually to the UK mobile version of the site). I cannot find anywhere that there is a forum on the site. Completing the model details only gives me the manuals, downloads(0) and FAQs. Am I missing something ?
The Facebook link takes me to the Huawei Mobile Facebook page, but it has nothing interesting or useful there. Just adverts for phones at Carphone Warehouse and the carrier 3.
Luckily I found this forum... XDA rules.
They probably haven't activated it yet, not many Mate 9s sold in the West yet. Hopefully that will change with more buyers wanting help.
But we have good support here !
