I don't know how it's happened or how to turn it off but it's turning itself on and my phone is always in vibrate mode. Even if I turn it off it always comes back on.

Just started using Polaris this week, but finding a problem with Airplane Mode...
When I go to bed at night Airplane mode goes on. Some nights Backup kicks in and restarts the phone afterwards. On Artemis, no problem, phone comes back up in Airplane mode. On Polaris, the phone always comes on with Phone on, so the next text message/email wakes me up!
Any idea how to make it stop turning the phone on when the unit restarts? I need my sleep!
Not a solution but why not put it on Silent? That's what I do and so far I've been sleeping like a baby.
Or you could try switching Phone off in the com manager instead of switching Airplane mode on.
Thanks, can't put it on silent as then my alarm won't wake me up...
Will try the Phone setting, see if that works...
Yes, that works, but it's a PITA beacuse I can use Long End Key Press to toggle Airplane mode, but need to use Comm Manager to turn Phone on and Off.
Found it:
HKLM\Software\HTC\CommManager\UseMSFlightMode
Defaults to 1, in which case Phone always comes back on after reset, set to 0, state before reset is respected.
Y don't you put a pin code on your sim card?
first you'll have a good protection if you lose your phone (no surprise call oversees...)
and if the polaris restarts the it wound connect to the gsm/umts without you entering the pin...
Hope it helps..
Thanks, but I'm too lazy to put a PIN in every time I restart...
In any case, the regedit above fixed the problem perfectly.
Something new - under Wifi Settings/Advanced - I have Wi-Fi set to sleep when display is off..
This doesn't seem to be the case. My WiFi is Always on.
I would imagine that the icon would disappear like it does when WiFi is turned off.. but when the phone is asleep and then wakes up, the WiFi connection is still there.
Anything I can try to fix this? I have tried changing the WiFi sleep policy to the other 2, then changing it back to display power - didn't work.
I did have to reboot the phone last night because I couldn't get WiFi to turn off, but I don't have a problem today with turning it on or off.. just won't go to "sleep"
It may be turning off and you just don't notice it. Cause I know that as soon as I turn on the display again its maybe half a second and then the wifi is back on. So you may be missing the switch.
I also notice that I have to leave the display off for a good two or three mins for it to turn off.

Is there a way to find out how long you are connected to an Access Point?
I am noticing a big difference in battery drain when WiFi is turned completely off, then when it is in the "Sleep" mode.
My Sensation enters sleep mode and refuses to quit it. Unlike my Flyer, it has no sleep mode settings, that would allow me to turn it off and the only way to reset it is it is to reborn the device.
Apart from the annoying notice message, however, it seems to sync even with the screen off. Anyone has a similar problem?
So randomly out of the blue, my Galaxy S3 stopped vibrating.
Yes yes I checked all the settings. I checked under text messaging, I checked vibration intensity, I checked haptic... all of it is on, but it doesn't vibrate. Power saving is off, so that's not the issue. The phone doesn't vibrate when turning on or turning off.
What's the problem? I tried restarting the phone, tried powering down then on, tried removing SIM card and sd card, tried turning off all vibrating options then turning them on, tried dialing the *#0*# thing.
Bump: Tried doing a factory reset, still nothing...
Flash a different ROM or better yet Odin to stock. If vibration works it's a bug in the ROM. If you go to stock and vibration is still broken it's a hardware issue.

I always have my phone on vibrate, but for some reason, after some time, vibrate stops working and it's as if I only had my phone on silent. The vibrate icon is still there, but my phone no longer vibrates on notifications and calls. Is there some behaviour that I don't know about that brings this about? ... is there any way to always have vibrate on?
Much thanks!

Do you have one of the power saving modes turned on? What is your battery % at when the vibrate turns off. It may be trying to save power.

No power saving active. It just happens randomly. My suspicion is I may be pressing the volume button up or down in my pocket accidentally, but I can't be sure or if pressing the volume button while locked would even matter.
