Does anyone else have a problem or know of a fix? OTA came to a coworkers phone, and now there is no ringer. Vibrate works. I went into settings and it indicates her ringer is turned up, but when the phone is called, all I get is vibrate. I even turned off vibrate to see if that would work. Help?
Edit: Nevermnd. Rocked volume all the way down, and back up... It worked.
The TL;DR is - Running ROM fine. Phone boots up but screen does not turn on. Does not seem to boot into recovery/download mode. adb is attached aka works.
Phone was sitting on desk, untouched and not charging. Now the phone screen does not come on, but hardware keys light up and notifications come on. I then charged the phone for several hours. Hard reset with a battery pull, let it sit for 10 mins, try to reboot. The phone vibrates once, and 30 seconds later notifications come in, hardware lights come on, and led blinks. So the phone is booting fully, but no screen on.
If I try either of the recovery or download combinations, the same normal boot up happens. So I cannot seem to get into recov/download normally. Odin does not recognize the phone. Windows OS recognizes the internal and external storage as normal. "adb devices" returns nothing.
Is there anything you think may solve my screen-off predicament? .... Worst case its a hardware problem Other than that, I am friggin stuck here. Your assistance and suggestions are greatly appreciated!
Had a similar issue when a flashing went bad. My charger was plugged in and for some reason it just kept looping like you mentioned. No combination worked.
I disconnected charger and pulled battery. Waited a few seconds and did the recovery combination. That did the trick. Hope it helps

I am open to suggestions. Plan on opening and operating, as I suspect it's a hardware issue. Worst case, any have experience with replacements?
(Oye, now I'm reviving the OG Droid Incredible ...)
Take it into a pitch black room and look closely, does the backlight try to turn on? I had a very similar problem where my backlight just died, I could see the faint outline of my home screen (like my brightness was on -50% lol) and everything worked but the screen. Ended up being a hardware problem.

Thanks for the suggestion. I cannot see even the faintest of light, just pitch black screen.
It's peculiar though --- the hardware buttons are not vibrating. As if it's not recognizing any input other than the Power Button. And thus, maybe why its not recognizing the volume rocker to get into recovery.
Bump: adb now works and recognizes my device. Open to suggestions!!!
edit: Tried adb reboot recovery ... phone turned off, vibrated, then received no input whatsoever -- however still made the connection noise when plugging into USB. Only solution was a hard reset.
Hey, since installing lollipop on my N5 when I have my phone on silent and receive a call the screen will not turn on. It does vibrate, however I would also like my display to turn on without having to use the power button. I have looked through the notification setting however I can't find a setting to allow the above to happen. Can anyone advice what I'm doing wrong??
I've found the setting to uncheck. So that the phone no longer vibrates when typing on the keyboard. But the phone still vibrates on other functions. Such as tapping the screen of the phone buttons.
in the note2. One box unchecked turned it all off. That don't seem to be the case with the s6. So how do i turn the vibration completely off. To preserve my battery. I don't really care or need to have phone vibrate. Wish samsung would just get rid of that motor.

Settings - Sounds and Notifications - Vibrations - Vibration Feedback.
That's where it is on 5.1.1.

I have noticed overthe last few days that I am no longer getting any vibration notifications when I receive emails. I WAS getting them but now I get nothing. Phone is definitely in vibrate mode and the vibration intensity is on maximum, it just isnt vibrating at all. I have rebooted, installed AQDD, turned sound/vibration on and off several times in the last few days but i get nothing. haptic feedback DOES work, it is vibrating on keypresses and hard press on the home button so it is capable of vibrating, it isnt like the vibrator is broken.
Edit: ok nevermind, apparently when BlueMail brought over its settings after updating, it decided to forget about the vibration setting!
