Hiding Data Usage Using Cyberghost? - General Topics

Hey, I was wondering if it's possible to get 'unlimited' internet by using Cyberghost? I know it's possible with other programs
My phone's internet speed (4G) is actually better than the speeds I get at home. I would like to use the 4g instead of my home network, the only problem is my phone data has a cap.
Forgot to mention, I have Cyberghost Premium which allows me to use the Cyberghost Android app with mobile data.
Here's the app if you want to have a look for yourself

Monitor data usage per app

Anyone know of an app that will monitor data usage on an app by app basis? I know there are heaps that will monitor total data use, but I'm looking for something to show the data used by apps individually.

I use 3g watchdog. it has a widget with it and can stay in your notification bar
Have you found the tool?
I also search a tool that can show what app used how much data.
Actually, i have something eating a lot of data, and even uploads a lot and i don't know what it is (40 to 50 MB per day are used on my data plan only because of that).
I don't want to necro a thread, but just in case people are interested in the answer:
I found 2 apps on the market that can do this. TrafficInfo and TrafficStats.

Some thing is eating my data and i dont know what it is
Im logged out of all social networking even gmail and Gtalk, but something still eats up to 30MB per day, by the time i wake up in the morning almost 10MB alrady used up.
You should give My Data Manager Free a shot. It keeps track of mobile, wifi and roaming separately. It shows data usage per app and displays usage by bar graph or pie chart.

there are a few but u have to be on 2.2 or higher first...cnt wait for X10 to get GB
Sorry for the bad recommendation. I don't think there is anything that will do what you need on 2.1. Why are waiting for gb why don't you update to froyo in the meantime?

[Q] App to turn 3g on when Internet Browser is started?

Hi,
I have Galaxy S I9000 Froyo update (German version) and would like to know if there is an app on the market (free or paid version) which would keep 2G Net connection and would switch to 3G Net (UMTS) only when one other app looks actively for data in Internet.
The reason for this is that I do not need to check e-mails regularly or as a push version (I'd rather do this manually) and do not need syncing with my google account on regular basis (once a day I can do manually something like this).
I would hope that an app like this would save me a lot of battery time.
If there is a way to do this on Galaxy I9000, please let me know.
At the moment I use APN on/off switch to achieve this, but an automated version (which would react to starting an Internet app such as Opera, Market, E-Mail app etc.) would be VERY nice
Thanx in advance for any and all info/suggestions,
Pavana
P.S. Yes, I did use search function but after wasting some 6 hours of reading all postings non of which came close to my wishes I gave up.
you can use tasker to do that

(to turn 3g or WLan on when a specific app is started: Internet browser or Market and turn it off when the app is killed).
I am sorry, but you have to deal with a complete idiot here: I bought the tasker
but after several days of trying to do it - I was not able to do this.
Could some "good, sweet soul" help me waste no more of my "quality time with my family" with simple introduction on how to do it?
My tasker is still a virgin - no tasks, I have I9000 International edition.
Thanks in advance.

[Q] restrict gprs use to specific application

I rooted my htc sensation ..reccently .....is der any way to limit the gprs usuage to specific applications?
If you mean to limit certain applications from using the internet, then the only way you can do that is by using the Application Permission Management feature on CM7 and crossing out the app's internet permission.
If what you mean is to limit specific apps to only use the 2G network, then I'm not aware of an efficient way to do that. All I could think of is using an app like Tasker to change your mobile network settings to the 2G setting when you open whatever app it is, but that would slow your phone down further while it switches between connection settings.
is there any other custom rom for the same or insertcoin add on file??
Hey thanks after lot of searching finally found out driodwall to restrict gprs use..
Anyways thanks a lot am looking forward for cm7 though..

Connect to school's wifi

Hi, my school has 2 wifi's -one with password and one without-. I can connect to the one without but I can't google or anything. However, I've checked the school's laptops and they were all connected to that network and can access to the net without any problem. Any idea?
Is it a school where no phone are allowed. Or no phones allowed to be displayed/used

I know at my school after connecting to the network, you have to open your browser and it will redirect to a log in screen where you enter your username and password. Is that the case here?
Often, WIFI, while "open," will require you to agree to a TOS. Once you're connected, be sure to open your browser and try to go anywhere @ all. If you need to agree to a TOS, you'll be directed to that page, agree and then be allowed to access the Web from that point. Your apps will also have access after that.
You will likely find that if this is the case, your school's WIFI will occasionally kick you off to release the IP address you've been assigned. Again, just open the browser & go from there.
I work in a number of facilities that make use of this sort of log in tech. That'd be my 1st thought for yours as well.

I've had good luck with a free app called Wifi Fixer (available on the app market). Hope that helps.

No, it doesn't require you to log in and doesn't let you do anything. I tried some web pages and it shows up something ( I'll have a screen shot for that by tomorrow ).

Well I would think the easiest way for you to download that data is to connect to WiFi. Either your own or maybe at like a Starbucks or McDonalds. It's usually pretty easy to find a hotspot.
Otherwise there is this old method that lets you download the data from a computer. I'm not sure if it works anymore though.
