I had bought this phone a month back. Noticed a few problems, so returned it. Thinking about buying again. Have the following problems been fixed with the nougat 7.0 ? :
1. Shaky gyroscope. Always shaking in VR
2. Low speaker volume
3. Bad sound quality through Bluetooth speakers ( I didn't get to the check the sound quality through headphones, please tell about that too)
4. Veering of in motion games to one side.
Thank you.

Maybe the device was at fault, but I haven't faced any of that while I was on emui 4.1.

I only got the shaky gyroscope :3
I see thanks. Yes the last problem was a fault sure. I thought the first three were universal since I saw those in reviews. I can't check it again, since I returned it. But shaky gyroscope was certain. N audio quality too. As I compared it with my SGSA. But it also had Viper4Android, so I guess it must be that. Was just thinking I should check if these were solved. But you guys don't have any so I guest it must be so.

Yep BLL-L22. Is the shaky gyro only present in 32gb/3gb ram version of the phone? Cause its the only version available in my country (Philippines)

Then try the 4gb ram version maybe that one dont have the shaky gyro. Its not that much a bother to me cause im not using it.
i have 4gb variant. & i have no prob at all.. haven't checked gyro as i don't use it.. !!
& for sound output i wanna say.. many ppl were complaining & created a hype abt low sound output.. & frkly i was abt to cancel the idea of purchasing the device for this reason only but then 1 day i tested my frnds honor 6x. it was like normal sound output it's just tht it's not extra ordinary.. totally suficient & for earphone i use boat 225 & output is amazing. surely satisfiable !!! Best value for money for 15k (4gb - 64gb variant recommended )

I see. Well, That sounds good. But can you once check the gyro. U just need to download google cardboard app. Once the vr loads, it'll be a fox scenario, I guess. Just place it on the table n check if its still shaking? I'm thinking thinking of buying it again. Waiting, hoping there might be a discount soon. Thanks

I just tried that for you and it is not shaky. I have the 3gb version L21
I got the phone. Accelerometer and sound are fine. Gyroscope is a little shaky. Not as much as before. But in the clash royale game, colours are awfully high contrast. Only in that. I checked Werewolf tycoon game. In that it seemed normal.

What is the software you have on the phone? Maybe need to update
I agree to your concern about the bluetooth sound quality. It's unbearable I was pairing with my bose soundlink mini 2 but the sound was awful. REDMI 1S (much cheaper device) gives out more decent sound than this device. I hope they fixed it before releasing the stable EMUI 5.0.
64GB
4GB RAM
I have the 4GB variant with EMUI 4.1 (Marshmallow) and can relate to the issues 1 and 2. Because of the shaky gyro, I replaced the phone thinking it might be a hardware issue. But the new device also had the same problem. Had talked to the customer care and service centre lot of times regarding this. Finally, they're asking for a recorded video that explains this issue. I just left it when I found that this device doesn't have a hardware gyroscope. Its an emulation of accelerometer and magnetometer. So VR apps are not gonna work properly for you, no matter how much they optimize the emulation algorithm.
The sound output from speakers are low. Even the headphone jack output is bad. Never tried a bluetooth headset though.
The veering to one side when playing games might be because of calibration problems because most games work fine for me. Even the ones using gyroscope I suppose.

I received my Note 3 N9005 (LTE Qualcomm version) this morning and so far it's blown me away. I had an S4 (also Qualcomm LTE quad core) for a few weeks before ditching it and going back to my Note 2 due to the lag and various performance and heat issues, but I'm glad to say they're gone completely on the new Note 3. Under heavy load the back does get warm obviously, it's a fast processor and high-end GPU after all, but it stays cooler than the S4 and takes longer to heat up in general. Everything in the UI is utterly smooth and lag free, launching the camera app and taking a snap is near instant compared to the ~2 second lag on the S4 between pressing the shutter button and an image being captured. [email protected] videos look stunning, I was seriously impressed at the phone's ability to keep up and maintain the frame rate, and when in this mode the screen updates at 60fps as well so you get a good preview. [email protected] is likewise excellent, although just be sure to select 1/4 speed rather than the default 1/8 speed, as this still captures at 120fps (1/4 speed), but encodes and plays it back at 15fps (1/8 speed) which is not smooth at all. The display is absolutely beautiful, coming from the Note 2 the step up in resolution and colour presentation are immediately obvious, and even outdoors it still looks great. This is the nicest phone display I've ever laid eyes upon, and I've had a good look at most of 'em. Gone is the black crush effect, the purple redraw artefacts and the grittiness of the S4's panel, and being sAMOLED contrast is exceptional. In the hand it feels light compared to the Note 2, but at the same time sturdier, better built and there is zero flex or creaking unlike it's predecessor. USB 3.0 file transfers are noticeably quicker than USB 2, except of course if you're writing to the external MicroSD card as it's write speed is the bottleneck there. The faux-leather effect back still feels like plastic, but there's better grip and being matte, no fingerprints.
So far it feels like it justifies the high price (£604.96 from www.unlocked-mobiles.com including shipping), and time will tell on the battery life. Despite the bump in resolution I'm expecting good things there, the more efficient SOC and slightly larger capacity cell should hopefully offset the draw of running all 2,073,600 of those tiny little LEDs. So yeah, so far I love it and can easily recommend the upgrade from the Note 2, and especially the S4. If anyone wants more details, just ask
Nice little review.. what you think about the speakers? any better than the note 2? the note 2 speakers were better than s4 or any other samsung phone previously so maybe this one is a tad bit better? coming from the htc one, I know im going to miss those speakers but hopefully i dont cringe in pain from the experience on the note 3 (speaker wise) lol ..no one seems to do a review of the speakers on youtube and when i get the phone, thats the first thing i will do for people
As far as the speakers are concerned I just want them to be louder. I hate it when it is so quiet you can barely hear anything.
So can you give us an update on the loudness for the speakers please.
Don't worry about the battery life, it's pretty decent. I have posted detailed battery usage on my thread if you're interested. And the charging speed is around 48%/hour so you can topple it up pretty quickly compared to other phones.

The loud speaker is definitely an improvement on the Note 2, and being positioned on the bottom edge doesn't get obscured merely by putting the phone down on a soft surface such as the arm of my sofa. In terms of volume it's clearly louder and has less distortion than the Note 2 and S4, but it won't match the experience of the HTC One with it's dual front-facing speakers. Quality wise, it's still a tiny phone speaker so you won't be doing any serious listening with it, but it's loud and clear enough to be heard in noisy environments within limits, not in a club or near a runway obviously, but it's acceptable in the car and walking around the city. The headphone output however is I think my favourite improvement. Audio output via a decent set of headphones is simply incredible. Not just incredible for a phone, but bona fide excellent. I'm not claiming it'll best a Linn reference set up, but I've heard poorer audio from home setups and dedicated headphone amps costing many times the price of this phone. PowerAmp seems to downsample anything above 48khz, but the stock player renders 192KHz 24-bit flac files beautifully.

I live in Scotland, I don't know what anything looks like under direct sunlight  It's fairly bright outside just now but overcast, and the screen remains clearly legible and bright. Indoors under LED bulbs it looks great too, and reflection is not as much of an issue as it was on the Note 2.
Thanks! I'm in SoCal and it's sunny almost everyday of the year so that's a concern

The only difference I can see is the ATT version comes with a slightly different back cover, which features a rather tacky (in my opinion) stylised "Galaxy Note 3" in silver near the bottom.

Been using the moto x 2013 for some time now and its just about perfect. I dont game, my use is heavy on web, text. The problem with my X is that the microphone doesnt seem to work anymore, I have to carry a wired or bluetooth to talk on the phone...which is a pain.
I want something small, similar in size, to replace it. Ive narrowed it down to a S4 or LG G2. Which would you guys recommend? Anyone else make a move from the X 2013 to one of these models?
Thanks,
Mario
If it is bought new, sure. But second hand you can get more recent models at the same prices.
Based solely on the specs, I would go for the G2. When I'm looking for a phone the first thing I look at is the performance, and, looking at the hardware, the G2 is better equipped than the S4. But this is just on paper.
For all I know, the real world performance may be the same.
I am satisfied with the S4
Thanks. Yeah either the G2 or S4 new is what I want, just curious to hear what folks think getting a 2.5 year old device. Id get a new flagship but all of them are just too big.
Get the snapdragon variant. The exynos overheats
S4 is still a very good phone: it can run without problems marshmallow custom roms and you can play on it big games like fifa 16 or asphalt. But if you want a good new phone and almost same dimensions like s4, I recommand OnePlus X.
I don't think S4 will be a good idea now. I had both versions (GT-I9500 and GT-I9505) before I moved for Xperia Z3 D6643. Unfortunately, I have damaged my Z3 and until it got fixed, I will be using the GT-i9505 again.
This phone is driving me crazy, even with max brightness, it's impossible (looks like a black screen) to use it under sunligh. 3G, and 4G (not to talk about GPS) data drains a huge % of battery, average screen on time is about 3-3,5h, no battery optmizations.
The Z3 (5.2") and Z3 compact (4.6") are the best options when talking about cost x benefit. Almost 10h screen on time and +800h standby time.
Thanks all. I kept looking and looking for new S4 or g2 but everything out on the Bay was new "other" or sellers with tons of negative feedback. Lots of positive but also much negative. I just saw no trusty sellers. Ended up pulling trigger on oneplus x. Now the wait for it begins. Hope oxygen is decent.

Samsung has it's own update cycle. Most flagships get support from Samsung up to 2 years after released.
And, in 2016, Galaxy S4 won't be supported anymore.

The Only thing that is extremely bad about i9505 is its sound quality in earphones. On gsmarena u will see they will say it has best audio quality but in reality its far far away from the best its so flat and dumb.Even all the chinese phones sound better than it there is literally no bass at all in the sound and if u increase it by an equalizer the volume decreases alot.
You could also try i9506 S4 LTE+/LTE A
Ive been using this device for a long time now. Recently broke my galaxy note 3's lcd and sold my lg g2. Back on my i9506 and still good. Its not far with g2 in terms performance. Although I use 2 batteries on my i9506 but hey, great device

Sound quality depends a lot on the headphones. I hardly think that in-ear ear buds are great at producing bass.
Let's not forget about the song quality too. Anything with a bitrate lower than 320KBPS will have its quality reduced. So always go for 320 or FLAC.
It can have the best sound chip in the world if the headphones are garbage and the music file has static noise.

There are always better devices. My 2 other devices (An ZTE Blade and LG P350) sound crappy compared to my S4.
That's why there are mods like viper4android. With the right setup you can get nice bass.
Besides, stuff like this is just a preference. I, for instance, don't like heavy basses. I like to listen to the music, not the "boom boom" sound of the bass.

I Dont like much bass either but the sound of i9505 compared to Sony Xperia Z2,Galaxy Grand Prime,Galaxy J5,Galaxy Ace 3 and the desktop computer is really flat and lacking.I can hear more elements in even samsungs lowest end phones than i9505 using the same earphones
Stay away from S4.
- Lollipop roms are okay but not very fast.
- Exynos AND snapdragon can overheat actually depends on the kernel.
- microphone distortion (personally) which I can hear as I play back the call recording
- not as fast or smooth as I expected for quad core when I previously had S5 mini
- Sometimes run out of ram but not too often
Generally just don't expect much. The specs look really good on paper but it's actually not that good a phone.
The screen resolution is very high which is nice.
Camera quality / focus is average as well. Slow to focus. Quality average.
I suggest buy 2nd hand used S5 or S6.
Unfortunately no S6 mini.
@fatjoez
1. Really? 5.1.1 is okay for me.
2. I've a device with Intel processor and it does the same thing. In short: All CPUs could overheat.
3. -skipped-
4. Blame Samsung's policies.
5. I'm only felt it on TW ROMs.
And no, I won't buy Exynos devices. Devices with Snapdragon SOCs are the best choice.
But, it's up to you. I couldn't interfere your mind.

I just own LG v20 dual sim and im waiting probably tomorrow Mate 9...so be patient to answer you...
Same, I've got the h918, mate 9 gets here tomorrow. Will report back.
Expecting to be happier with the Mate 9. The v20 is not bad, just doesnt click with me.
I have a mate 8 and my wife has a mate 9. I prefer mate 9.
I used both.. And moved from LGv20 to Mate9.. Mate9 in my opinion is by faaar better.. But depends on what you want from the phone, i do miss the second screen in LG, but over all, Mate 9 for me is the best in the market right now..

Mmmmm lets start with mate9 being more solid as a phone.. Then amaaaazing battery.. Never used a phone with such a battery (and i used many many many phones).. And its optimization when it comes to battery usage.. Screen is almost the same.. But u know its bigger in mate9.. Add to that all, v20 has a very very bad faulty, its camera glass, a tiny small hit towards the glass covering it, and its gone (happened to someone i know who has his phone armed with a big case).. Read about it online, maaanyy are complaining..
Over all, i can fairly say its the mate9 by far.. As a user..
Again, this is my personal experience, some features in v20 u might prefer over all what i mentioned (like changeable battery, or 2 sims+sd), hence the variety in the market..

I have both as well, but the DAC in the V20 is unbeatable.
I decided to buy V20.
After spending so much time researching, I think V20 is a better option, overall.
It has a better DAC, is more root friendly, and has wide angle camera.
The aperture control on Mate 9 is fine, but the results seem too artificial for me. Optical bokeh is much better. I think its a good idea, but the implemention is not perfect still. About the other predefined stuff in Mate 9, almost everything can be fone through the manual controls of the V20, but the user must know how to and be iniciated on photography.
After giving up Note 7, I boughti LG V20 and didn't like it, especially the battery life, it was giving me just 6-8 hours. I bought Mate 9 and I'm now very happy, the only thing I miss is the wide angle camera from LG v20, but that was the only thing. Bettery life is now 15-20 hours a day

While I've yet to use either, but the wide angle camera of the V20 isn't that appealing to me. The monochrome sensor seems to give you better options and has the potential to take much better photos than the V20 ever could. I feel like the only thing the V20 has going for it is the DAC and that it's more developer friendly. Other than that, it seems to me that the Mate 9 is the better device in every way.
Oops I was going to comment but since you've already got the V20 congrats and enjoy

Headphones, loudspeaker, video recording, screen - v20
Everything else - mate 9
Actually preferring photos from the mate 9 much more than the v20.

Ive made that choice just because for me loudspeaker, headphone output, audio & video recording, and screen is "everything" on a smartphone.
So I thought V20 would make more sense.
For curiosity, do you usually take photos on manual or auto/preset?

Loudspeakers are very close. The v20 is slightly louder.
Audio and video recording do go to the v20 as that is what that phone is built for, the mate is still good at it.
Lg software i just do not like anymore, and photo quality is honesty lacking on it. Far too much noise in anything other than good light (seems like a step down from my g5). The mate 9 is also cheaper with much better battery life. V20 has higher resolution but LG panels have tons of backlight bleed, compared to Huawei damn near uniform panels.
Photos were both in auto and manual, it just seems like the mate has a more capable sensor than the 298 is in the v20
Both good phones. Won't really go wrong with either!

This is not true, I have used both and I can say that the loudspeaker of V20 is less than Note 7. Mate 9 speaker is same or better than V20, but definitely not less. As for the screen, I had big time trouble adjusting the auto brightness of V20. It would be either too much or too less. I was always adjusting it. I didn't have this problem with Note 7 or my current Mate 9. Mate 9 is really under marketed, maybe that's why they are building the best phones to earn some name.

It works well, so far so good.....i will be trying to install in a few days.
I just plugged the unit to a power source to verify is working well.
Testing wifi, setting accounts, downloading apps....Android Auto works wireless (i was not expecting that)
i´ll play a little more before to installing it on my car

Fake Android 12.
These are FYT.
Yes, Android 10 in fact !
Just got one of those (actually selected the 2K screen as an option, not sure if it makes a difference... M700S model with 8GB). Will post my impressions once it arrives!
I got a 2k screen last year from yet another knockoff/renamed/noname something.
It does indeed have a MIPI 2k screen as well as 8GB RAM and 128GB storage.
(tested with fake device tester)
that said, the high resolution plays havoc with apps (maps is soooo tiny).
Luckily, the latest Joying firmware for 2k screens corrected most of the issues, but still a couple of apps aren't optimized (gmaps, is the biggest pita there, can't see any street names from the driver's seat)

I used Purr to reduce the screen resolution. I had to do an ADB shell to grant it rights though as it doesn't have them out of the box.
I will recive my m6pro from medeke maybe next week. I will make a complete review when I will mount it on my car
To those who have it, how is the call quality? Is it as bad as all the other Chinese units?
I'm also intrested to see if the call quality issues people mentioned are improved in this unit.
I've spoken to mekede rep online and they say that the chip is now UIS7862 S and the issue was not related to mic lacking noise cancelling but to the internal BT 5.0. The UIS7862 S has internal BT 5.1 and they claim this will resolve the problem.
Not sure I believe this but interested in others thoughts.

The version of Bluetooth going from 5.0 to 5.1 will do nothing at all to improve the sound quality of a microphone.
Yes I completely agree, just mentioning the comment from the Mekede sales, I did point this out.
Me: For the call quality it is the microphone that causes bad call quality, people are disconnecting internal mike and using external mic but still the receiver of the call is not hearing clearly.
Sales: no friend, mic is for transfering the sound to people you are calling. If people got the internal BT, it is easy to get noise while calling and driving. so we always make external bt
Me: Yes that is the problem, people receiving the call from the device cannot hear the user clearly. Call volume is low and have a lot of noise interference.
Sales: you dont understand that friend, the main point is the internal BT.

That is not BT, but BS (if you know that abbreviation -> b*sh*t).
And there is no internal/external BT, but internal/external microphone. The problem was so far that the internal mic was not switched off. As the internal and external mic have a different resistance, this even caused interference and further sound degradation. In these new M6 pros you can switch off the internal microphone, as you are aware.
BT 5.1 supports multi-channel audio in comparison to 5.0, which is an improvement, but that has nothing to do with the microphone problem.
Are there any users of the m6pro that have tested out call quality and can comment?
Just got my Mi fold 2 and I like it.
But the problem I have is that Google store won't re-install my last backup from my Fold 3.
Which was today. I have waiting a an hour and nothing.
Also. I got a version of chrome to install.
But the phone won't let it update. I did install webview to see if that would help, but no.
Any tips?
Thanks
It's sorted now.
I had to reset the phone.
Now try to fix the galaxy watch 4 problem.

Lets put it this way.
I am selling my fold 3.
The software updates will be slower.
You have to de-bloat the phone.
But I love the bigger front and main screen.

I'm hard of hearing. So I know nothing about the sound.
And I haven't used the camera . Maybe this video will help you.

Compared to the Fold 4 - the speakers are about the same quality. I would say maximum volume on the Xiaomi is weaker (so much so that I'm using an equaliser profile to boost the volume). Compared to any other flagship smartphone - the speakers on these foldables is laughable in terms of quality (but that's what you get when trying to fit speakers in such a small space.
Camerawise, again compared to Fold 4 I would say its on par, maybe a slight advantage to Fold 4. Compared to a normal flagship, lowlight and stabilisation definitely suffers; however I would say its on par in decent/ well lit areas.
