Can't find the modality keyboard... - Samsung Gear S3

I want to download and try the modality keyboard but it isn't appearing in the gear appstore. Can anyone assist?

I'm seeing it available for. 99 when I do a search for keyboard in the appstore. It's listed as Keyboard: "Modality Watch Edition" The developer is Joyful Machines L.L.C at http://joyfulmachines.com

Just search again. It's definitely not in my gear app store

Searched

Odd, I don't know what country you're in but maybe that's the reason. Possibly contact the developer from their website and ask them. I can definitely see it in the appstore.

United States

I see it for . 99 in the playstore, but it isn't showing up in the gear app store. I want it for the watch and not the phone.

I just search for "keyboard" and found it in the Gear Store (since that is what I was using on my phone).

Thanks for responding. It's still not showing in my gear appstore.

What versions are you running? Here are mine,
Samsung Gear 2.2.17022862
Gear S Plugin 2.2.03.17041441N
Samsung Accessory Service 3.1.41_170404
Also you could try clearing the cache on any Samsung apps.
EDIT: Something I just noticed.... In the settings tab of the phone app, touch Samsung Galaxy Apps then choose settings from the 3 bars on the top right, clear the search history on the next screen.

Same with the exception of gear s plug in. Last two numbers are 61, and there is no N. How do I go about cleaning the cache?

I appreciate your assistance. I've completed all the listed suggestions and still no luck.

Where are all the apps?!?

I've read there is a multitude of apps already available for Gear 2. From knowyourmobile.com: " eBay, Expedia, News Republic, CNN, Conde Nast, Sleep Genius and Runtastic are all currently available on Samsung's Tizen OS". I've read there's a paypal app for it as well. In the gear manager there's only like 20 apps (many of them are college themed watch faces for $2). Am I missing something?...
I would have thought would all be in the Samsung apps but looking and a search in there im not seeing paypal or sleep genius in there

I see sleep genius but it wont install, I get a WO:WO Failure.
I saw the app late last night, sent developer email but haven't heard back and still won't install on my GS4
FWIW, if you go to the Samsung App Store (not the Gear specific one), there is a newer version of Paypal here vs. what's in the Google Play store. I installed it but I didn't see anything Paypal related on my Gear 2. So maybe it's only used by select merchants or the Gear interface is only utilized for certain scenarios? I would think we would have a Gear specific Paypal app, but I'm new to all this so not really sure. Just found it odd that Samsung has a newer version vs. the Google Play store.
Yes. Like stated above. The trick is to open gear manager. Go to samsung apps and search from there. There are just a handful. Sleep genius is one of them

i deleted sleep genius. very basic app but the dev said a full featured one will arrive May 1st with tracking and lots of additional features. as it is now not much more than a white noise type concept

It was there, but anymore. I didn't think it did a good job. I set the alarm to 6am and when I go back to the home screen and then back to the app, the alarm shows 815pm. Think they pulled it to fix it or something.

they are releasing a full featured app on May 1st with lots of stuff including tracking and other goodies per comments from the devs. as it stood it was nothing more than a white noise streamer more or less. I'm not entirely sure why they released that version as it wasn't very useful. They are aware and the full app should be awesome.

If you have a rooted phone maybe you could try xprivacy and app privacy settings to fake a samsung serial number etc...

Gear manager immediate force close

I can't find anything on this.
So I'm trying to pair my Galaxy S5 with the Gear2 - it can see the Gear 2 on bluetooth, but there's no prompt to pair.
Gear Manager pops up an error message very quickly and force closes.
I don't particularly want to have to sign up with a samsung account and/or use their app store on my phone - is there any way around this?

i believe you need to have a Samsung app store account. how else will you have access to the thousands of great apps for the Gear 2 without one... lol, but seriously, no account no acess. there are few (if any) apps in android play store. Gear 2 runs on tizen, not Android.
as for the F/C, try uninstalling everything and try again. my Gear 2 paired up with my Note 3 right away.

I found a version of Gear manager as an apk download that runs, but you're right - what you can do with it is highly restricted.
I'm a little more privacy-aware than most android users, and as a result I'm probably not going to use the device much if it's locked to a corporate app store.

The apps download to your phone which transfers them to your watch. The only possible apps I can think of that might expose your watch data are fitness apps that transfer your stats back to the phone. Watch faces, games, etc. don't share any data but still, the only way to get them is through the Samsung App Store.

[Q] Gear 2 apps not showing up

So I downloaded quite a bit of apps for my gear 2 from the Samsung store e.g. appy geek. They don't show up on apps and if I click on the app from the store, it says view app in gear manager, but just shows gear manager home page. Any suggestions ?
Thanks

Same here! Did anyone solve this problem? Sometimes I download and install an app but it isn't visible in my G2. And in this way, I can't even uninstall it, since the problem is the same mrsimpson described.

Check your device is compatible, as the connection of your gear to your phone would depend on your version of Android. Also check in the samsung apps (galaxy apps) store instead of the Play store
Anyone found a solution yet?
I managed to run my gear 2 on my htc one m7, i installed apps to my phone but it creates no Icon on my watch as it should...
Anyone knows how to fix that?

I have a VZW S4 (SCH-i545), running Hyperdrive RLS19 and a Samsung Gear 2 Neo (SM-R381), Samsung Apps v14040104.21.007.1, Samsung Gear v2.2.14110499.
I cannot seem to dl and install gear 2 apps and have those apps show in gear manager or on the gear 2 itself.
I even tried moving the apk from downloads to system >apps, but move fails.
The process shows the black, "save file" then "install file" windows, that take up the entire screen
In what folder are Gear apps supposed to be stored, for use?
ETA: So I changed phones. I am now trying the Neo with an S4 on MDK and the Bonestock 1.1.4 ROM.
Every app I have tried has shown on the Neo. Both Watcher and Watch Styler.
The issue now is that when I get out of range and the Neo disconnects BT, it does not auto re-connect upon returning within range.
With the other phone it auto re-connected every time, but most apps would show. GRRR!

Can Not Buy From Store

Just opened the Gear App on my non-Samsung phone to check out if any new watch faces had been posted. Before this I only was given the choice to browse free apps and watch faces. Now the Gear App Store is showing me paid apps and faces as well.
I found a Watch Face that I liked and wanted to purchase but overtime I pick the purchase button a blue spinner shows then it says connection times out.
I can download any free apps or faces but anytime I try to purchase something nothing happens.
Any one else having this issue.
Using the Gear S2 with a Mi4c.

I am using a Nexus 6 running AICP, an LP ROM based on CyanogenMod and had no problem registering a credit card and paying for an app. It is great that non-Samsung devices have access to the paid apps.
Have you tried free apps since you had the problem with the paid apps? Sometimes you have to re-install the Gear Plug-In which has the side effect of reinstalling the Accessory Interface and light resetting the watch.
Cheers,
Fred
Had to uninstall the Gear app and plugins. Once re-installed was able to register Credit Card and purchase app.

Restore paid watch faces after reset

Hi,
After I've reset my Gear S3 I've noticed that my paid watch faces are gone. Is there any way to restore them?
Thank you.
You could try this:
On your phone, open galaxy apps, click top right and choose settings. Then choose receipt. It will show you all the paid apps and watchfaces you have purchased.
I'm not sure if you can install them again from there. But at least you have proof of purchase if you need to get in touch with the seller of the apps and watchfaces.

Instead of settings, you have to go into My Apps, and you'll see all the watch faces that you have bought. And yes you can install them again.
On your phone, open Galaxy Apps icon, click top right and choose My apps. Then choose All. Choose Gear column. It will show you all the paid apps and watch faces you have purchased & allow you to reinstall any of them.
Go to the Gear App on your phone and choose Apps from the menu. Then choose the three dots in the upper right hand corner and then choose Download History. All of your purchased apps will be listed for you to restore.
I changed phone to note 8....and receipts and apps from previous phone are no longer to be found anywhere on gear app

Same case happened with my gear S3,all purchased watch faces in KSA disappeared with watch reset in Egypt and restored only apps purchased in Egypt.
samsung account
I've had some of this with every Gear watch. As long as you are logged into your Samsung account you won't have to pay again. You just need to know the app you want which I always do. Once I click on it, the price goes away and it is clear I am not being charged.
When you are charged you get messages like "are you sure you want to buy?" You then get confirmation emails on the purchase. You also have a testing time period to request a refund.

Restoring apps & watch faces
In Galaxy Gear, tap Settings tab, select Apps, tap the 3 vertical dots on top right corner, select Download history, select the Gear tab, all previously purchased apps and watch faces will be listed, select the down arrow to the right of the item to reinstall on your Gear watch.

Hello my friends,i have a HTC U 11 and i bought a samsung gear S3 frontier before one month.I bought about 50 watch faces and i installed until two days before that if the watch faces are at my gear at my apps at sasmung galaxy apps appears as ia didnt download and install.I installed once again all and when i go back to the main menu of the galaxy apps and again once at my apps i have the same problem my faces or apps were like no installed and i have again start them to install........any help please...
Change your sim card
Have you try changing the sim card to other country rather than using the local sim that you have been using right now. after that you can open the galaxy apps and update the application, sort of like that. Hope this help.
I had the same issues for the last week with my Huawei mate 10.
I contacted Samsung support many times and they kept saying the same thing about checking the galaxy app, which as was said before, its the first thing we do. I then posted my problem on Samsung community site and was told to try to contact Samsung pay in your own country.
Although they said they couldn't help as I used PayPal they did said others are having similar issues with the latest update.
I then went to reply on the Samsung community site but for some reason my password was not recognised so I had to reset it. After that I sent the reply and of course I had to log in again with my new password in gear manager, now all my paid apps and watch faces are back.
They must have done something!
Cheers guys ... I'm late to the party just got an S3 classic and this just saved me. Had to reset to fix the samsung pay bug and lost face(s) !!
All sorted now though.
