I'm a Note 3 (Beans ROM) / Gear 2 user. I was experiencing the issue that many others reported where Watch Styler doesn't appear to fully install, hangs at "Installing" and although Watch Styler would appear in my app drawer, it never would show up in Gear Manager under Clocks. I'm happy to report that it's working now and I wanted to try to help others experiencing the issue.
Essentially I followed steps 1-11 here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=52433453&postcount=9. I also installed the Gear Manager.zip from BeastSpencer. After the reboot however, my Samsung Apps wasn't showing up in my drawer. I was able to open Gear Manager and connect to my watch, but I couldn't install any apps from the App Store within Gear Manager. The apps would start downloading then the screen refreshed and the option to Install appeared again. When I realized Samsung Apps was missing, I opened Google Search on my phone, typed in "download samsung apps" and followed the links to download the app store from Samsung which took me here: http://apps.samsung.com/mars/mw/apk_en.as?COUNTRY_CODE=USA. From what I remember when I clicked the "Phone" button to launch the installer, nothing happened...Samsung Apps never installed. I had to choose the Re-install Phone button. After this I was able to go back to Gear Manager and install Watch Styler. Now it appears to be working...well about as well as everyone else's anyway. I'm still experiencing the following issues, can't load digital watch faces I've downloaded from gearfaces.com (i think everyone is having this issue), and occasionally when I'm trying to switch from one downloaded theme to another, Watch Styler throws an error about being "in a call" even if I'm not. When this happens I just select one of the default watch faces that's included with Gear Manager, then click on the settings icon for Watch Styler, then I'm able to select and apply a new theme.
Good luck, hopefully this helps out someone else with the same issue.
you posted this on the other forum and I replied there that it doesn't work for users on the galaxy s5 ,maybe for others but im just saving others on the s5 some time and trouble going through all this to have the same results as watch styler not showing up in Samsung apps and watch styler not showing up as a choice under clocks then setting a theme.

I think you have me confused for someone else? I haven't posted anything like this before. Maybe this won't help people with the S5....but several Note 3 users have the same issue as me, so I'm hoping it might help them. Cheers.
Can Some one try the app Tunnelbear.. It lets you set your vpn to another country... Maybe than you can download the Gearmanager

This worked for me! Rooted Ricks ROM build 7 on the Verizon Note 3. Of course it was a process and a pain in the ass but I finally got watch styler to work and the gear manager is slight different looking. Downloaded the Samsung App file directly from Samsung though the zip didn't work.

Just a shot in the dark here how about putting the apk inside /system/priv-app then reboot instead ?

I found the old version of Gear Manager that work on Note 3 Alliance Rom that is compatible with watchstyler
Gear Manager - https://www.dropbox.com/home/Apps/G...msung.android.app.watchmanager_1.6.132701.apk
Watch Styler - https://www.dropbox.com/home/Apps?p....manager-468f0fac17003fe3f1addbd2b9071ebc.apk
I can't find anything on this.
So I'm trying to pair my Galaxy S5 with the Gear2 - it can see the Gear 2 on bluetooth, but there's no prompt to pair.
Gear Manager pops up an error message very quickly and force closes.
I don't particularly want to have to sign up with a samsung account and/or use their app store on my phone - is there any way around this?

i believe you need to have a Samsung app store account. how else will you have access to the thousands of great apps for the Gear 2 without one... lol, but seriously, no account no acess. there are few (if any) apps in android play store. Gear 2 runs on tizen, not Android.
as for the F/C, try uninstalling everything and try again. my Gear 2 paired up with my Note 3 right away.

I found a version of Gear manager as an apk download that runs, but you're right - what you can do with it is highly restricted.
I'm a little more privacy-aware than most android users, and as a result I'm probably not going to use the device much if it's locked to a corporate app store.

The apps download to your phone which transfers them to your watch. The only possible apps I can think of that might expose your watch data are fitness apps that transfer your stats back to the phone. Watch faces, games, etc. don't share any data but still, the only way to get them is through the Samsung App Store.

Well I can’t even update, when I launch Gear manager, it says there is a update, it downloads and when it starts installing app crashes… And if I cancel the update it won’t let me go in the manager.
So I can’t use my Gear manager, the notifications are still pushed to the watch.

Thanks for heads up, I have succeeded to update from Samsung Galaxy Apps, so updating directly from gear manager fails and after update it wouldn’t connect to my Gear Neo after couple tries it is connected now.
And now I was trying to open up Gear manager again it said there is a update… Again it fails through the app itself but when I open it from Samsung App store it updated another 3 files. It connects again to my gear and app version is 2.2.14092499 now.
So I thought it is working and tried to open Gear manager and it says still there is an update, checked in Samsung App store and there is no update there, if I try to update from the Gear app itself, I get same problem as above.
I will wait to see how Samsun fix these issue, did reboot and cleared the cashes several times on my first try too, it doesn’t help. I am not going to install the ones you posted above, not that I trust that but just to wait and see what Samsung does about this.

I had the same problem as you. The only thing that could solve my problem was to uninstall Gear Manager from Samsung store and install it again.
Maybe you have have tried this already.
Skickat från min GT-N7100 via Tapatalk
There was a reason why I didn't do that. I didn't want to loose my Gear apps.
But after your suggestion, I removed the app and reinstalled again. The app version is still same as the one I mentioned above. But I had to install all my Gear apps again because Gear is pushed to factory reset, which is not so big problem if the Gear app store didn't have constant network issues.
At least after a while I could install everything back but now I didn't have the wstheme files on the watch. Put those back on the watch again and I can use my favorite app Multi-Watch again.
Bit stupid of Samsung, if you ask me. Pushing a update which cause problems. I am not the only one since in the app reviews at Galaxy app store more people complain about it.
I had to factory reset two times in two weeks because of Gear Manager updates.
As you said I needed to install everything again on my Gear. But I haven't seen any improvements with these updates and Gear appstore and Samsung Galaxy appstore sucks with network connection. At least they could send us an update log.

Totally agree with you. It is not like I am side loading apps on my Gear, 4 of these apps are paid apps so a better restore abilities wouldn't hurt anything, and time consuming installs with a lot network issues on Samsung server side is really annoying.
I think my Galaxy note 2 will be my last Samsung phone for a while. I have had too much problem with their own software since I've started to use Galaxy S and now Note2. Problem with the phones software, problem with Kies and now with the Gear's software.
Good hardware, but bad software.

Hi,
I was able to get the Gear S2 connected with the Tab S2.
Rooted the Tab (SM-T815Y)
http://forum.xda-developers.com/tab-s2/development/root-cf-autoroot-tab-s2-sm-t3187202
Edited build.prop as per

Ro.product.model
Ro.build.characteristics
Then installed sideloaded Gear app ( https://www.dropbox.com/s/omenl6cndu4vivd/com.samsung.android.app.watchmanager-2.apk?dl=0 , sorry lost the post where I found this link.)
hope this helps others as they helped me

Hello,
As it reads in the title I have the Samsung Galaxy SM-G900F with LineageOS 14.1 on it. And I'm trying to pair it with my new Gear Fit 2. I wasn't able to start the Gear Manager App from the PlayStore because of my OS so I edited the build.prop file in my system folder. That helped, but afterwards the Gear Manager App wanted to download the "Gear Fit 2 Plugin" App from the PlayStore which was "not compatible with my device" for some reason. The same thing happened with the Samsung Accessory Manager.
So I downloaded the gear manager stub, as well as Samsung Accessory Manager and Gear Fit Plugin from some link I found on this forum. Now when I try to connect my Gear Fit 2, the Samsung Accessory Manager shuts down and it just trys to connect but it's getting nowhere. I'm so frustrated right now. I even started thinking about switching back to stock firmware on my S5. But I definitely don't want to do that.
Can someone here please help me by explaining what Apps I have to install in what order to get this going? I would be very thankful for the links to those Apps, too.
Thanks,
Pixelloni

I found this article:
https://forum.xda-developers.com/gear-s2/help/samsung-devices-running-cm13-12-1-pair-t3290076
It's for an older version if CM, but should hopefully work for you.
By looking at the results, seems to be an issue with all brands of rooted devices having issues with Gear Manager.
