How do we enable hotspot on QC5? The "dun" hack isn't working. I've heard about using ADB to enable it, and also heard you can edit the CSC files but I can't find anything that shows how to do either. Any help is MUCH appreciated....

Yeah I wouldn't be asking if that method was ok for me. It's still got to be an easy hack. I don't wanna edit a bunch of crap and lose my data or use APN settings in the dialer menu. I want to make an edit in root explorer and call it a day. All Sprint did was rehide the line I need to edit. I just want to know where to find it.

Yeah sure. What do I edit? For the 5th or 6th time now. What file do I edit to turn it on? Because it's all changed in Nougat and the line I use to edit before Nougat, is no longer there. So can you show me a Screenshot of the line and the edit you make? Because I would love to know! Thanks!

If you're going to ask for help, don't be a douche to the person trying to help answer your question.
I use WiFi Tether Router from the market. It works great, lots of options and settings if you wish, and even better than the native Hotspot - it works on 3g.

Thanks for the .apk, surprised the Vibrant isn't supported even though the Captivate is. Yes you need to have U-Verse service as well as the U300 package or above to take advantage fully of the app (thankfully I am)

Just use it for the DVR management, definitely worth it. You can use the channel guide or search by time and even future dates. Much better than the mobile website. That alone is worth the download.
If you search the actual available content to watch it is all older programming and select channels. This is not a "slingbox" replacement app by any means. All the U300 package will give you with this app is the ability to download and watch certain older programming. Sorry should have clarified my above post.

U-Verse on Droid
Hi there. I installed the U-verse mobile app on my Verizon Droid. (Thanks for that!) It seems to work fine until I attempt to download shows to my phone from the 'Show Library.' I get a message saying it can't be done because of system issues. Has anybody else had success downloading shows? Or does my not being on AT&T's actual network prevent me from doing it?
Thanks,
ej
Can't say for sure that it is from not being on AT&T's network but it looks to be that way. I can't download and watch shows on my EVO. I said all along that when they finally did release an Android App it would probably only be compatible with AT&T android phones. the bastards!
Had the same problem. Make sure you are on WiFI and then try it a few times. It will eventually work. Im running original droid as well.
Hmmn
jim, I've tried it with Wi-Fi and 3G, both ways get me this message "Cannot Subscribe. Thank you for your interest. Subscription cannot be completed at this time due to system issues. Please try again later."
This happens when I click Agree to Terms of Service, and the denial message appears instantaneously, as if it's a built in denial that shows before a connection is even attempted.
Maybe there is a setting on my phone I don't know about?
Question:
When I install the app, one of the things it asks for is permission to call phone numbers. I can understand why it asks for other permissions, like changing network connectivity (downloading shows only over wifi).... but I can't figure out what the app does that needs phone call permissions. Does anybody have any insight on this?
Btw, the app works great on my phone. Can't download shows, as I only have U200. For those who have previously posted about not being able to install the app on your phone, the user guide says it works on android 2.1 and higher, for phones on the list. (I didn't see a list, though).
Works on the vibrant after hours of trial and error.not much to download and watch though.

Not sure how though.
I thought I'd be able to watch shows I had recorder to the DVR, but that was hoping for too much I guess.

Why did you start another thread for this app?
What was wrong with this one?:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1568649
There is a mass amount of information in the Android apps section. We certainly don't need multiple threads for the same app, by the same person.
I thought you were going to be removing the phone number requirement. Did you start this new thread to hide the phone number requirement complaints from the other thread?
Now I'm wondering if your app is shady, and simply farming phone numbers.
Please explain, because I am about to go on a crusade AGAINST this app.
this is what happened ----->>> https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=ms.android.mixtapes
my app was removed from the android market and the link about is a new one directly to mediafire. Im still working on the profile page and im definitely removing the phone number. If you want just type any number in the box doesnt make a difference to me, it can be all 1's if it makes you feel better.
hope this clears up the questions

Why start a new thread, and not just edit the old one? You could have made the old thread say whatever you wanted with whatever link you wanted, just by editing the post. You don't need to start an entirely new one. I have threads I started months ago where I still edit the first post with new and updated information.
Anyway, thanks for the clarification. I will be keeping my eye out for the removal of the phone number requirement.

someone sent a dcma complaint saying i was stealing intellectual property and violating copyright infringement. they did it out of spite or to remove me as competition from the market. everything in the app was designed by my graphic designer from scratch. and google didnt even care to warn me they just removed us.

Profile is now fixed, check it out!
I have developed a stealth cell phone spy/monitoring app for android. All the monitored data is tracked from the website with your account. This is in very early beta stages and need some volunteers to test this on different devices and android versions.
The app can monitor:
- SMS
- Calls
- Phonebook
- Browsing history
- GPS locations
All data is encrypted and is not reviewed.
While this is in beta, you don't have to pay anything for it.
If you are interested please send me a PM or post here if you have any question.

How will it be different from Mighty Text or Airdroid, both of which have those functionalities?
It is stealth, which means remains hidden on the phone. Which is good for monitoring your children or employees. Plus there are more features on to-do list which will be in future release.

Please don't get this post wrong. I just wanna know a few things. Sorry!
Firstly, is it safe to send the data in plain text to your website?
Secondly, I know a lot of data is being sent to your website, such as the phone brand, imei, phone number, messages, device details etc. Are those data stored in your database securely? For example, encrypted with a key or something so it will only be viewed by the user themselves?
Thirdly, will you be viewing those data?
Suggestion :
Encrypt data before sending it to your sever.
Have user to create a key so only they can view the data.

UK moto G 16gb. 3 mobile.
Network connection drops all the time. I mean, like every 30 seconds when using the phone. It seems to be because it is constantly flipping between 3g (2.5g slower, and HSDPA+ speed 3.5G).. I guess I'm in an area where HSDPA+ is barely possible. BUT, since the retarded 4.4.2 UI has been built for ****tards, in now only has the option of 2g or 3g. no more, manual vs Auto etc etc. This really annoys me.
Has anybody else had this problem? Can anyone let me know where the option to set data network selection manually vs auto is. and if there is any way I can improve the network selection.
My phone does exhibit the signal degredation when the back is covered, but I think this is universal amongst phones really.

It's not related to how I hold the phone, its in general. It is definitely to do with being in a low 3.5G area. When in a strong area it is fine.
The phone clearly flips between HSDPA+ and 2-3G. This is why its doing it. If I can force it to stay on 2 or 3G in the settings, rather than flipping when signal is weak it will solve my problem.
Im not rooted, but can easily. How will xposed help? I thought that was just to customise the UI like gravity box?
I think there is a rather simpler wrokaround

There used to be secret dial codes that would bring up many useful utility menus on Android phones. What are they for the Verizon Note 5 ?
If you download "phone info samsung" from the playstore it shows a list of secret codes in the menu. I never tried any out to see if they work. Also if you are in the vicinity of a Verizon store you can dial #8378 and it will pull up a menu with a battery of diagnostic tests.

Yes we discussed that you needed to have root and I don't and was wondering how to get them without root
It is annoying when people with other phone variants post on the Verizon boards, because miscommunication like this happens.
As the Verizon variant isn't rootable, posting solutions that require root isn't going to help anyone here.
Sent from my SM-N920V using Tapatalk
Right? Super annoying. Anyway. OP, download "phone info" from the play store then open the menu and select secret codes. It will then crawl your phone for available codes. You don't have to have root in order to just view the list of codes, after it searches the list of codes will be displayed.
On a side note, there is a setting in the phone (hidden_menu) that basically either allows or denies access to service modes and settings from dialer codes and Verizon sets it to deny.
If we had root for the N920V we could use a file manager with root access and easily change the hidden_menu setting, after which all dialer codes and access to service modes would work again.
