Hello everyone!
I´m here by to ask for help about my device.
It has been a month since my device is stuck on encryption unsuccessful, although I´ve search on the net and XDA for a solution but to no avail.
My Xperia E3 D2203 from vodafone Portugal can not be repair with Sony Companion:
- Powering on in flash mode led flash green and off and it is recognized as SOMC flash device, pc companion starts the process repair but throws an error asking me to connect in flash mode. I have tried several computers with and without anti virus but nothing works.
I´m able to enter fast mode led flash blue and stays blue.
I downloaded unofficial flash tool from here and used xperifirm with official rom for my device, country and provider:
- Flash mode is recognized and the process begins but get stuck on reading device information.
-Fast boot mode is recognized but no change what so ever.
From what i gathered, using flash tool in info or error mode, I came to brick wall as my device is not in debugging mode but developer mode was active before the device died on me.
Is there anyway to recover my device in this state? What can I do?
It has been a month an a half and I searched, tried again and again all sorts of solution without success.
Any help or pointing me out to the right direction is much appreciated!
Best regards to all.

I know there are probably lots of threads about this, but I couldn't find one about E3 since it's a relatively new phone, but to point now
So I tried to update my Xperia E3 to it's latest firmware via the Sony pc companion(it was the only option) and during the update ,once it was downloaded it prompted to connect the phone through the USB cable, once done it began installing the update but when it was like at 80-85% it showed an error saying that internet connection isn't available and gave two options to either retry or cancel, now the internet was just working fine, I checked google, Youtube everything and it was working, but every time I hit retry it gave the same option ,so eventually I canceled the update,
Now the phone was switched off so I tried switching it on and it just froze at the sony boot logo screen, restarting with power button+volume up only restarts it to the same situation(stuck at logo screen), I did look up for a solution but couldn't find one that fit,
Of course I did switch it off using the off button at the back of phone(under the back cover), and I know about Sony Update service but that's no longer supported(it required the phone in off state), pc companion can't detect an off phone and when it does it starts phone to boot frozen screen and fails at detect step, another thing I found was a custom tool(possibly just SUS) that could flash a firmware in an off phone but however there is no firmware available for my version, since I live in India, so there's that , any help is appreciated,
A few things:
-The battery was at 91% when update started
-There was no root attempt etc made on phone, it was complete stock
-I did update the firmware once earlier but just from the phone it was a 2 mp update, no pc
-When I started this update there was already a 29 mb something update available without pc, and that's pretty much all, like I said any help is appreciated
Don't worry buddy, your phone doesn't die yet. Actually, PC Companion (PCC) has repair phone/tablet function.
Open PCC, click Start button in Support Zone, then continue to click Start button under Phone/Tablet Software Update and you will see "Repair your phone/tablet". Just follow its instruction. remember using the hard reset button under the back cover to turn off the device first and don't turn it on.
Anyway, what is your model? d22xx? i can't provide the firmware unless I know exactly the model.
It worked

Hello, my device is D2212 and I have similar problem.
I've rooted and unlocked bootloader using this method from XDA forum to root Xperia E3. However after unlocking bootloader and root my device my PC and my notebook doesn't recognize my device to transfer data or access data of cellphone. It keeps in charging mode.
Today it was really weird and lagging way too much so I tried to reset to factory setting. After that my device does not start android it keep stuck on blue screen right after display of Xperia and android.
I tried this method you suggested of PC Companion but it does not work since PC does not recognize my device anymore since rooting.
I need help here, please.
O just bought this device last week.
Thanks in advance.

I tried to put AOSP 5.1 from FXP in my phone, and my cellphone bricked. It wont turn on, it keeps the Sony Logo 2 seconds. It haven't connection with flashtool. Please Help me.
Hi. Can you give me more information what you did exactly step by step. So maybe i can help you. My E3 was bricked too. I found a solution. But i need more information.
Flash stock rom it'll unbrick it

Thank you answer back! I did exactly the following:
The model is my Xperia E3 D2212 dual sim.
- Unlocked the bootloader,
- CWM installed a custom recovery,
- I reinstalled the original rom,
- I made a backup of the entire system using CWM.
And everything went super normal way, without complications.
The mistake was when he wanted to installing a custom ROM called "AOSP_L_MR1_150718_flamingo" because I found out later that he had not read that it was for ANOTHER XPERIA as follow the you tube tutorial . The ROM's for another Xperia, if I remember correctly.
After doing the installation process of the new AOSP ROM, the phone is less than a minute on the logo of SONY XPERIA down with, looped, can not enter the bootloader, and no longer recognizes the PC. I can not recognize it at FlashTool. I think that's all. :crying:
I greatly appreciate your attention.
I ended up editing this text in the google translator, then I'm sorry, if you are not very good.
Thank you

Could you help me? I can not make the pc recognize him ... He barely turns on and off since. The PC Companion software tells recognize it, but when you are installing the software says "it is not possible for this phone is changed." I can not scessar the bootloader does not give time and it shuts down.
Thanks, my error was with the fastboot driver and adb in flashtool. The Windows drivers wasn't been recognized, I've to install the drivers, all of they. After this, I Flashed the Stcok ROM, installed SuperSU and Restored the backup, everything works fine and fluid now. Thanks, anyway, for encouraging me.
I flashed my D2203 back to factory rom yesterday using Flashtool (flashtool.net/downloads.php) on Windows 7 PC.
How did I do it:
1) Install flashtool
2) Install Flashtool-drivers.exe from flashtool subfolder /drivers and select flashmode and fastboot drivers.
3) Run Flashtool and open XperiFirm (letters XF on logo)
4) Select Xperia E3 Flamingo -> proper D22** you have -> Market -> and select latest release below PayPal logo
5) Press "Download" and wait for download and unpacking
6) Switch off phone (if power on/off button does not respond then open back cover and push "OFF" by using pen)
7) Press and hold volume down button and connect phone to PC using original USB cable
8) Using Flashmode flash device
Hi!
I have an xperia sp, and jellybean 4.3 it was buggi and slow so i wanted to install cm12. After a succesfull install the phone never booted again, so i reinstalled the custom sony rom. Something went wrong during reinstalling, and it cancelled. Now the phone is stuck in a bootloop. Keep flashing the sony logo, than reboot. I think it's hardly bricked because:
-The phone is in bootloop.
-I cannot access recovery mode, because the rom reinstalling i lost my root privilege.
-Sony pc companion does not recognize my phone.
-When i try to flash the stock kernel on the phone, with flashtool (phone connected in flash mode), the phone always disconnects at Dumping TA partition 2.
-Cannot connect the phone in fastboot mode.
-No software recognize my phone, just flashtool.
-ADB drivers didn"t work.
I tried everithing on win10, win7 and ubuntu 14.04 that i coud find on the internet.
Should i throw it down from a cliff, of you guys have any idea?

It is indeed a driver issue. If WiFi isn't working, you can flash stock ftf and then install whichever rom you were installing. Firstly, to get back to stock and relock your bootloader you need your TA. If you didn't backup your TA before unlocking your bootloader, You'll have to live with some functions of the stock rom lost. Restoring the TA locks your bootloader.
Okay so, if you have the stock ftf, head over to your flashtool folder, navigate to drivers and open Flashtool-drivers.exe.
For Xperia L, the drivers you need - "Flashmode Drivers", "Fastboot drivers", "Common drivers for Taoshan".
If install fails, you may need to disable driver signature check. Just google that, it's pretty simple.
If you don't see such a file, just get it from here - [Drivers] FlashTool Xperia Driver Pack (v1.5) [20140318]
Then connect your phone in FLASHmode. Not Fastboot. Fastboot has a blue LED and Flashmode has no LED (You'll see red and green flash before the no LED). Your device should be listed under Universal Serial Bus Controllers as SEMC Flash Device or Generic Flash device. If it says S1 Service or something similar, right click and update Driver Software, "Browse my computer for driver software", and let me pick from a list. Uncheck Show compatible Hardware, scroll to Sony Ericsson Mobile Communications, and select SEMC Flash device. Reconnect your device to check if it detects it as SEMC or Generic Flash Device. If yes, try to install your ftf.
If you were already on this driver, try switching to the S1 Service. (Not sure where to find that but it never worked for me. Your mileage may vary. Give it a search).
Also, if you take it to a service center, they'll probably charge you some money and probably replace the whole board. Thus, Hakuna Matata. Keep calm, your phone is absolutely fine. Never tried Emma though. Flashtool ftw!

Hello Xperia M2 dual D2302 users and rest of the dev's,
Right now i ran out of all options after spending huge amount of time in browsing threads.
Problem definition:
wifi works, bluetooth works but no SIM detected. NO IMEI found either.
I was on 18.6.A.0.182 ,did bootlocker unlock via Fastboot and then used eagle root to root device.Installed TWRP,CWM,Phil recoveries .Currently i'm on TWRP.
able to fastboot able to enter recovery ,able to flash different ROMs available in forum.
Biggest issue apart from SIM undetection is NOT ABLE to enter FLASHMODE using latest flashtool. tried installing drivers many times and tried to enter flashmode.
when I start flashtool and load a ftf then click flash ,Volume- doesnt take me to flashmmode , i see that GREEN LED blinks for sec and then disappears ,flashtool keeps waiting while i get attached errors.
not sure where im doing wrong but this phone is crucial for me right now.
i bought this device in india and right now using in US.
i tried booting s/w's without SIMs as well.
can you guys please help me?
Below are the ROMs and recoveries tried,
1.cm-11-20141030-UNOFFICIAL-eagle
2.cm-12-20150322-UNOFFICIAL-eagle
3.cm-13.0-20161117-UNOFFICIAL-eagle
4.cm-14.1-20161213-UNOFFICIAL-eagle
5.EagleXperience-5.0b1
6.omni-6.0.1-20160227-eagle-EXPERIMENTAL
7.Slim-eagle-5.1.1.custom.2-UNOFFICIAL-20151118-0020
8.Z5-STYLE-4.6-eagle
and i have tried CWM ,TWRP,PHil recoveries.
Please help me.
Sorry.Post removed
You should try to restore stock ROM and if it won't work, then you should send it to service repair.
As i understand...restoring means using flashtool? if so my phone doesnt get into flashmode..any idea how to restore?
If you can't get into flashmode then you really should send it to service repair.
hello @tromine thanks for your suggestion.
i have one question related to "flashmode" drivers.
when you press vol-down button and connecting USB after that, should the flashtool installs flashmode drivers for D2302?
can you suggest me what should appear in device manager (see pic 2).
im using windows 10 home 64-bit OS and X64-bit processor PC.
can you please suggest.
Summary : I was able to restore the device.
How: I found that bcoz of 3rd party USB cable i wasn't able to get into flash mode(though fastboot,USB data transfer work using 3rd party cable).
Very importantly in my case .......This ROM FIUI-2.5-UNOFFICIAL-eagle saved me somehow by giving me IMEI number and SIMs were working. later using flashtool i did flash having right ftf. i guess i lost IMEI , signal by flashing wrong ROMs(mine was D2302 eagle-ds Indian version)
Now I'm able to fully restore the device with all functionalities working as usual, I'm so relieved now.
I felt like a noob and a geek at the same time lol.
Thanks for all devs who created all those wonderful tools.
OP: please close this thread.
Glad to see that you solved your problem
Hi! Im facing the exact same prob with my xperia m2 dual (d2302).

Google Xperia m2 drivers, you need additional drivers (you can find them on Sony mobile) to flash M2. Green led also blik and disappear for me but Flashtool tell me that phone is connected in Flashmode.
Good Luck!
