AICPAndroid Ice Cold Project
AICP is known by everyone as Ice Cold Project that started on Desire HD and since then evolved into a mature ROM with the BEST community you can find!!!
Until Lollipop, Rom has always been AOKP based. Unfortunately, since AOKP either stopped development or will make a comeback later this year, we changed our base to CM when it comes to hardware, drivers and some features.

Don't disable Heads-Up. You wont be able to answer phone calls otherwise.
You tell...
ROMS should contain everything you need to enjoy Nougat. You are not required to install any Add Ons, simply download the latest ROM, gapps, flash it, and go!
You are STRONGLY recommended to fully wipe your device before flashing, and if possible avoid restoring system apps and system data with Titanium Backup - these can cause stability issues that are very hard to debug. If you believe you know what you're doing - then fine, go ahead, but please don't complain if you experience strange behavior.
KERNEL:
Kernel in this rom follows CM source with custom additions.
PREREQUISITE FOR OTA:
To be able to flash over OTA app, TWRP recovery is needed.
You can still use CWM and OTA app, but only to download zip file and flash it manually from within recovery. Zip gets saved under AICP_ota folder on your internal SDcard.

i always wanted aicp on my nexus 7

I've just installed it. Looks good so far; responsive and the level of configuration that I like. I'm in the process of installing all my previous apps and data to see how it responds when loaded up.
A note for others - if you're installing Gapps, you'll need to use a minimal gapps-config list since even Pico Gapps are too large.
Edit: this is a stable and responsive ROM. I don't use my Nexus for anything heavy (web & email etc) so I can't comment on the suitability of AICP for anything more. You can configure the look and feel more so than you can with AOSP - it's on a level with the LineageOS ROM - but if you're not interested in that then maybe stick with the lighter AOSP ROM. All three ROMS (AICP, AOSP and LineageOS) appear stable and responsive on my Nexus 7 grouper, all three are up-to-date vis-a-vis security patch levels. I've not noticed any significant difference in battery life either. The choice between the three is perhaps down to personal preference.
A job well done Adromir. :good:

New built today

New build up

Finally, AICP for Grouper!
Thanks to @Adromir, we finally have AICP for Nexus 7 (2012) - Grouper.
AICP on Grouper is super stable. It provides Android 7.1.2 with the latest Google security patch level.
The battery life is simply amazing. In case you decide to use a 3rd party launcher or browser, you can disable a few default apps, which seems to improve the battery further.
AICP provides so many extras that other roms seem to omit for some reason, such as slim recents & proper navbar customization. (By proper, I mean proper. This is the best navbar customization available. Its a lot better than in Lineage OS, which seems to be quite limited for some reason.)
Finally, Adromir, please, please continue supporting this AICP Grouper version with the latest monthly Google security patch level, etc. :good:
P.S. Will future versions of this AICP version have an integrated OTA update interface like other official AICP versions have? This would be very convenient.

Sadly unofficial builds don't support OTA. But I can look into it. New builds will be delayed for a while, because my build slave crashed and i have to set it up again

I really like this ROM and am surprised that it doesn't seem to be as popular as others. I find it both stable and highly customisable - I likes! :good:
Quick question; is a full wipe/clean flash of an OTA update (that is, over a previous version) the recommended upgrade path? I know a full wipe is advised for a new install (and rightly so!). I've tried a dirty flash but it just hangs/loops on reboot at the AICP logo. If a clean install is needed for an update then I don't think I'll update until there's a new security patch.

Normally a dirty flash should be fine. But there had been some troublesome commits after the 25th of April which apparently caused bootloops and had been reverted. I sadly had no time to make a new build since then due to work and server crash

New build up for today. Sadly i can't provide any changelog, because strangely it wasnt generated by my buildsystem.. Weird

Great Job!

I dirty flashed this update over previous version, all worked ok no problems. All looks good so far. :good:
Thanks @Adromir, job well done it seems.

First few days on new build and I'm super happy. Responsive and with the level of customisation I like, gives me the options to personalise. Battery life appears to be better too, though I have no numbers on that, it's just an impression.
I don't know what the 'unofficial' tag means, nor it's implications, but I'm happy with this ROM unofficial or otherwise.
Edit: I even like the new boot logo!

Try AICP Tilapia on Grouper
Okay so I really liked this unofficial AICP for Grouper by @Adromir, but at some point I got a random bootloop (probably something Adromir mentioned earlier).
Since I love AICP, I decided to try the official AICP Tilapia version by @kaankulahli on Grouper by using the Tilapia TWRP version. Everything is working fine and the battery life is amazing. There are also OTA updates since its an official version. Despite being "official" its not perfect. It has the MTP host issue. You can read about it more here on my post: https://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=72674844&postcount=56.
My advice: Try the unofficial AICP for Grouper by @Adromir first. If you experience any issues, try the official AICP Tilapia version by @kaankulahli by installing the Tilapia TWRP version.
Thanks to both @Adromir and @kaankulahli for allowing the Nexus 7 (2012) to continue being an amazing device!
Does anyone know if its bad to use the Tilapia version on Grouper???

UPDATE: It looks like @kaankulahli is making an "official" Grouper version as well as a Tilapia version.
Regardless, @Adromir did an excellent job on the "unofficial" Grouper version. Too much support for Grouper is never a bad thing... :highfive:

I hope @Adromir does . Remember: "unofficial", "official", etc are just tags; you won't know until you try both.

ROMS should contain everything you need to enjoy JB.
How to install :
Use TWRP. with new partition
Warning: Only use this recovery to flash New build with new partitio layout.0. Otherwise, you risk bricking your phone, or you might experience boot and stability issues!
Wipe data and cache.
Format /system (only first time coning from older recovery)
Format /data and /data/media (only first time coning from older recovery)
Flash update*.zip.
Flash gapps*.zip. You must flash gapps after every upgrade the since /system is formatted, wiping your previous add-ons.
Reboot phone.
After you setup your Google account, reinstall the three apps from Market in order to restore most of your apps, call log and SMS history.
Warning: Do not restore backup data of system apps!
If you restore a bad backup with cached settings in telephony.db in data/data/com.*.*.telephony it can break MMS.
It seems that restoring backups can also break Calendar sync.

Question: which the three app You are talking about?
And yes, tha main Question: is it supposed to be that device is initially booting for 20 minutes!? More of that - the screen goes just BLACK after that and the only thing You can see touching screen is two icons in status bar
Excuse me, I am the very first time flashing lollipop ROM on i9001 but I flashed ROMs before for hundreds times and never saw such a long first boot and such a slow work afterwards. It looks like the CPU speed is about 100 MHz.
IS it something wrong with your ROM? Or is it normal for lollipop?
thnx

I flashed few other lolipops, they all are very laggy, slow at the first setup, but after that, everything gets ok.
But with AICP lolipop I was unable to get it through the first setup, neither with updated or older version.

Hi, can you try to run Xposed?
Everything works fine
Lot of features are included.
Awesome.. Antutu scores 24477 with default kernel.
do you find a option to enable navigation bar in settings?
I think that's not an bug but feature
CM camera does not have option to select external sd card.
You could try CameraZOOM FX and point save location in settings to external sd

Hi and Good Evening,
and yes I did it and opened a new thread ....
And for that I also made a fresh and new build, based on todays AICP sources.
Camera is working, and rotation I am not really sure, but:
after enabling it in stock launcher and a reboot it works for me. Not tested it after sleep or deep sleep of the device.

Well done buddy, your a master at building ROMs!
Yay, finally MM Android Ice Cold Project!
Great! I must try this out!
I've been using AICP 10.0 to this day as my daily driver and finally there is a MM update! Since the 8.0 AICP, I've been been very satisfied to the rom's stability, lack of big critical bugs, and amount of features. I've been trying out some other roms on the side but somehow always ended up using mainly just aicp.
I really appreciate your work, dedication and effort in working with roms, rodman01! :good: And of course thanks to everyone else that are making this community such a great place!
I'm still on the 0311 build, but it's nice to see a dedicated topic !
Well done and thx you
Congratulations for the ROM!
It is stable or in beta?
For me it's very stable.
Is rotating work?

Otherwise try it by yourself. Probably it works, I'll get my hands on my old S3 again and try this rom but without LTE test(I don't have an USIM card inside my S3)

I'm using this rom for few days already, and up to now noticed only 2 issues:
- rotation is not working after screen is turned off
- if you try to update super su, then phone functionality is working properly only for few hours after every restart. When freeze appear you cannot call anyone (app freeze on dialling), and phone is not showing any information when someone is trying to call you (caller can hear the signal, but without any response on your phone)
All other functionalities are working properly for me - rom is very stable, and work really good on battery.
Is/will this rom have the same (excellent) optimisations than in VrTox? I'm thinking of getting aicp but can't flash everyday :/
This rom is pretty fast as it is, imho.

Fast is great, faster is better, in VrTox I saw enormous changes : the use of f2fs, especially once fstrimmed gets the phone as reactive as the latest flagships and I'm not even exaggerating. Plus with the ubertc version the battery improvement was pretty impressive, even with screen on. While screen off I have 1% loss in 10h it's amazing. So don't think like "it's great how it is" think "how great it will become"
I don't like F2FS because Agni kernel is not compatible

Yes it is. I love f2fs and optimizations in general. I'm with aaz on this. ?

AICPAndroid Ice Cold Project
AICP is known by everyone as Ice Cold Project that started on Desire HD and since then evolved into a mature ROM with the BEST community you can find!!!
Until Lollipop, Rom has always been AOKP based. Unfortunately, since AOKP either stopped development or will make a comeback later this year, we changed our base to CM when it comes to hardware, drivers and some features.
If there are any bugs, either we will sort them or CM team if it concerns their modifications. This rom isn't CM supported so no need to report errors or bugs to them!!

You tell...
ROMS should contain everything you need to enjoy Marshmallow.
How to flash:
Don't do it if you don't know it
ROM has gapps persistance in between dirty flashes
If you want to contribute to the AICP or wanna see what is being worked on/merge feel free to visit our gerrit, link is at the bottom!!!

I never recommend dirty flashing, but feel free. If you experience any weird bugs that aren't in CM then maybe do a clean flash

Ok. I'll try. After TWRP backup of course

CM13 based? 3 days ago I saw the first official AICP CM14 based for Nexus 5.
Will you try to build CM14 based AICP too?
Sorry. You can't. I suppose you need CM14 directly for Thor. Sorry again.
Dirty flash over CM13 didn't work out. I saw boot animation for 10 minutes and restored backup after that.

Old good well-known AICP...
So, I'm restoring non-system apps using Titanium now.
No bugs for now.
The 1st bug/issue:
Silk Browser fc's and doesn't start. At CM13 that app worked ok,
Took the app here http://www.apkmirror.com/apk/amazon...wser-52-1-79-2743-98-10-android-apk-download/
Silk Browser is the browser from Fire OS. So, Kindle = using Silk for me)
Please install and try to launch.
Everything ok at my Nexus 5 with AICP 11.

The 52nd and 50th versions don't work.
But the 48th works ok. You can take it here http://www.apkmirror.com/apk/amazon...wser-48-1-51-2564-95-10-android-apk-download/
Plus the time and the date are displayed like "HH:MM" at the Pie control. Not real time and date like "13:56". It's AICP bug and it's the same at my Nexus 5.
Silk 52 fc logcat.
Nice to see the marshmallow ROMs popping up now. Has anyone checked if Bluetooth is working for this rom? I'd like install this but Bluetooth is a deal breaker for me if it doesn't work.

Whatever bugs cm has this should too. I haven't checked Bluetooth yet, so I can't say if it works or not.

Unfortunately, that hasn't always been the case for HDX devices. Obviously a CM bug will carry through but Amazon's custom SOCs and associated binaries don't always follow the rules. Radios (BT, GPS, LTE) and panel rotation have been especially problematic. WiFi on occasion - although flashing the xx.3.2.3 bootloader seems to fix that along with graphical anomalies (noise).

Wow another great official rom . thanks to dev
Damn one of my favorite ROMs is finally back, really looking forward to flashing it but some questions
1 Does it supports f2fs
2 What are the bugs and issues (if any ?)
Plz share some feedback if anyone hve downloaded
Wow another great rom to choose! Thanks a lot devs! I see that a lot of roms are being "official-ized", is this because xiaomi released the kernel source?

Yup that's the exact reason ?
Yep tried it.. Absolutely awesome... Just the Sdcard bug rest is fine so reverted to AEX for time being... Thanks dev..
Someone just post some screenshots and tell me that does it supports f2fs
I just want to confirm - flashed first version, then dirty-flashed 2nd one - and everything is flying as f*** xD
Amount of customisations is incredible - and it's prerooted with latest Magisk, so SafetyNet check passed
F2F2 working, SD Card is also working after formatting to ExFat in recovery (even in 1st build).
