New watch battery issues. - Samsung Gear S2

I just bought this watch a few days ago.. its a Sprint 3g Gear S2. The battery drains from full to empty in about 4-5hrs. The battery also drains faster than it charges when its sitting on the dock. I turned off WiFi and the 3g stuff and that didnt help it at all.. Am I missing anything?

Wow it's strange. I've a Gear s2 classic and I can use it 2/3 days with one charge. Do you use the watch with the esim? The cause could be the 3G that drains your battery. Do a hard reset and try without esim for check if is a watch's problem.
If the problem persists is a hardware issue, then validate the warranty.

Rubbish battery life on WP7?

This was my first real day with my LG E900, I am not really that pleased about battery life, I took it of the charger at 6am by 2pm it had about 30% battery left, that was with WiFi and Data turned of, no phone calls and just listening to the FM radio. Now had I these turned on it would of been dead by lunch time I am certain, I come from an iPhone, and that thing with WiFi etc on still had 40% battery left at bedtime, with WiFi of I could get 2 days out of it easily. I am on Mango if that makes a difference, I think this is easily the worst battery life I've seen on a phone especially when WiFi etc all turned of and I've been through iPhones, HTC, Galaxy S2's etc.
Is this normal or what am I doing wrong? Having owned Android phones in the past I already turn data etc of when not being used, dim screen, location services of etc.
Every battery needs to get used to the phone.
Do some full charge to 100 % and drain to till 20 % or less.
repeat this for 3 or 4 cycles. Then you battery will behave very nicely to you.
Also check whether your GPS is turned off.
some apps use your battery in the background. maybe one of them is the one that drains your battery. i discovered a few days ago that i had htc hub on some other like pulse. and there drain the battery too... there are many factors that drain the battery, the network is one of them... is it on GSM or 3G???

Phone is on GSM as have no 3G coverage, I am hoping it'll take a few charges etc to get it going.

Gear VR Service drains huge battery life

Hi all,
So i noticed today that gear vr service drained over 20% of battery since it was last charged. And that was maybe 2h after it was charged. There were no updates nor i've been using it at all. Anyone knows why? And can someonee tell me how can i disable that service, since i really dont need it. The "disable" button is greyed out.

Battery problems after s3 update

Hi, I installed the S3 update over the air to my Korean S2 a couple of days ago. Everything seems fine except for issues with the battery. I Can take the watch of the charger after an overnight charge and wear it all day, powering it off before i go to bed in the evening. When i shut it down the charge can be over 50% but when i power it back on in the morning the charge is just over 10%. If i leave it powered on but not on charge the percentage will increase over the next couple of hours back to just under 50%. The problem is i can never be sure what the true state of charge is, so i am unsure whether it will last the day.
Anyone else having this issue or know how to fix it?
I have problem with battery. Battery is discharging really fast.
That's weird. My battery life seems pretty good. My watch has been off the charger for 5 hrs and I'm still at 94%

Yeah, it looks like that first 2-3 charging cycles were not good, but today I have really good battery life. ... So my problem is solved.
On the old firmware I could wear it 16 hours and put it back on the charger with over 60% left. Since the update I am down to 20% in four hours. I've done 2 hard and one soft reset to no avail. The battery thing on the phone app says its my watchface and I should use a dark one but I am. This, frankly, is a show stopper. I can't recharge 2 or 3 times a day. Any idea how to reinstall the R734XXU2DPG1 firmware? That worked.
Apparently a couple of recharges fixes the battery issue. Don't know why but it does. So far at least.
Hi
I just updated my gear s2 classic yesterday with the new ota, my battery doesn't even last for 2 hours now, before it gave me 1_1.5 days. In battery usage it shows 22% usage by contacts and 19% watchface even though I'm using the stock with no customization and even the background is same as default for menus.
I've denied the permission for gear plug in for contacts even then the drain is too fast.
How can we fix this, any ideas.

Question Battery drain with watch turned off

Has anyone else seen issues with the watch draining it's battery even when it's turned off.
I have been only using the Watch 4 mainly at the weekends, and using my watch 3 through the week while at work.
I had the watch 4 fully charged up before I had turned it off, 2 days later after turning it back on to check it, I found that the battery had gone done to 15 percent.
So how can it drain the battery when it's turned off?

Thanks for the reply, but I had already been through that that and there's no mention of anyone having issues with the watch turned totally off.
I can understand some issues with the battery drain within that thread, and also read that over time the watch battery life does extend over multiple charges, but with the watch being turned off, and with no usage whatsoever, I can not understand how the battery would still drain by the amount it has.

I would suggest manually turning off each component, such as WiFi, BT, sensors, etc. before turning the watch off and check if that makes any difference. If there is an improvement, it would indicate that those components are still powered on even when the watch is supposed to be off. If that is the case, then it could be a few different defects, but you would likely need to contact Samsung for further troubleshooting. You could try resetting the watch in case it is a software/firmware issue preventing a full shutdown, but if that doesn't work, then it is likely a hardware issue.

Question GW5 battery died not wearing

Took my watch off today at 62% and just let it sit in my locker at work. Came back 6 hours later and it was dead dead. Turned on then turned right back off and said 0%. My GW3 was left not charging for days and it would be fine like it just kinda went to sleep. This thing died in hours. Anyone have similar experience or solutions?
When placed in locker (especially a steel locker), switch watch off or put in Airplane mode. The watch may have exhausted itself by constantly trying to connect. Especially if it is a LTE version.
Yes use Airplane mode, the constant trying to get a signal lock is one of the biggest battery drains on any device not just the watch.
I get all that, but it's just a BT version... And the thing doesn't die that fast wearing it.... Wouldn't it always be searching for signals? And why the difference between the 3 and 5? Tizen vs wear?
