I have been searching for an answer and have not gotten a clear and definitive answer. Does the T-Mobile Note Edge variant work on all AT&T LTE networks without issue after being unlocked? According to tbr Samsung website both models have the same bands with the t-mobile Edge have 2 additional bands
I have the att model but would really like to be part of the dev community. I have a week and a half to return my att model. I would buy the t-mobile model if it works completely on the networks. Anyone out there using a t-mobile Edge on ATT. Thanks

Think I can help answer a few Qs.
Am using a Straight Talk sim (ATT) in my T-Mo Note Edge. Getting 8-15+ mb/s down...2-4 mb/s up (more than enough for me). Followed rooting method posted by TekHD. Did not see unlock procedure for T-Mo Edge.
T-Mo does hold your unlock hostage for 2+ months or $100 (didn't see this stated and argued). Unlocked through a reputable unlocker through fleabay (~$24 I think - Tmo also recommended...go figure).
Hope this helps.
Wish someone can release a qualcomm kernel w OC/UV/governors and thermal control soon...

Yes, Using one right now. You do not need to unlock it at all it will work right out of the box with an AT&T sim as will all T-Mobile Phones.. This has been a thing for years. There might be some obscure T-Mobile phones without perfect LTE Band or Data support. Every major model will work perfect with absolutely no unlock don't waste your money. I actually called T-Mobile before throwing my gophone sim into the Note Edge T-Mobile variant and cautiously asked if they will blacklist the imei of a phone that is using an AT&T sim. The T-Mobile representative kindly, calmly, and with conviction said that no you will not have your device blacklisted, and that all T-Mobile phones should work out of the box on AT&T. Enjoy not paying for an unlock code! I'll upload pictures of my note edge running AT&T data services via an AT&T gophone sim if you don't believe me. It actually put the APN information in for me automatically too! Meaning I did not have to enter in carrier specific AT&T APN, the software on the Note Edge T-Mo variant picked up the different carrier and entered the APN settings automatically. Woot woot

strange. I have my att sim in a SM-N915T on 6.0.1 N915TUVS2DPG2 and it says network locked.
Can anyone tell me if the phones is region locked? Thanks
i am not sure what you are looking for but i do know that there is a thread on here where someone tried a Verizon SIM in a Tmob and ATT S6 and neither one worked on Verizon.
Generally Verizon phones are SIM unlocked so u can use them on Tom or att but don't expect to get lte coverage since the phones have different bands enabled.

That's because those don't have CDMA radios, and at least the AT&T one is locked. Verizon phones come SIM-unlocked and work with other carriers. If you use a T-Mobile SIM you'll see an "unknown SIM" message, but it will work assuming the bands match. You should be able to get LTE with T-Mobile as most of their network uses band 4.
He means region locked, like usa

Anyway to get rid of this message? My g2 I had to root it to get rid of it. I hope I don't have to root the s6 just for that because it gets really anoying just having the icon showing unknown sim the whole time.

First unfortunately it's not just one version for all the carriers as some had suggested. The GSM providers phones do not support CDMA. The T-Mobile version is the only one with the new band 66 LTE. The AT&T version is the only one that supports band 30 (the fastest band in my area)

Seems it had them all. I'm curious as to why the att version is. Band 17 if att themselves use the 17 in many places. It's actually one of the main bands of att and they don't have it showing

Band 12 includes band 17. If the phone truly doesn't support band 17, then I suspect that AT&T advertises the band as 12 and 17 to support it.
Guys check this eBay listing, there's something funny about it, 232298704354
Selling cheaper, one unit, faster than official shipping.
The seller feed back is off from picture to details of feedback and also the items sold are entirely different than phones.
Think it's a hacked account?

So what it seems like to me (im not including sprint nor did I even pay attention to it) is that the Verizon model should work great with both AT&T and Tmobile if one wanted to switch. Looks like the verizon model would be the closes to the factory unlocked model, even more so if they really dont have any Verizon branding on them. But, what is 3G TD-SCDMA that is on the GSM models?
It appears that Samsung's website is showing the same unlocked model for all carriers (G950U*), although I'm not sure why the LTE bands supported are listed (slightly) differently for each carrier. Confusingly, this is a different model than the phones being sold directly by each carrier (G950P for Sprint, G950A for AT&T, G950V for Verizon, G950T for T-Mobile). You can see that that LTE bands supported by those models are different that the G950U as well (the carrier-specific versions seem to have a subset of the LTE bands supported by the unlocked version). I was not able to locate a spec sheet for the G950P.

The links you provided are all to the Samsung website. The Samsung website does not have the same models that the carriers themselves are selling, as I tried to explain above.

So you want me to believe the 4 carrier versions Samsungs selling are not the same phones that the 4 carriers themselves are selling?
The phones I ordered from samsung are not the same as I would have gotten from the carriers directly? I'm sorry but i think it's you that is confused.

The evidence indicates that they are likely different... but you can believe whatever you want.

I don't see where the carriers list their model numbers anywhere...
Actually, here's other preorders from carriers:
AT&T (Says U)

It's the same model phone but with different FW. It is possible that specific carrier models only support their own network bands thru FW. In the past, the Samsung would actually have different radio and antenna hardware in the phones.
Given the proper FW I believe the s8 series will function identically no matter which carrier model is used provided the SIM is unlocked.
My 2 cents

That's exactly how the US S7 variants were, only difference was the firmware installed. I'm hoping for the same.
I am thinking of getting an unlocked S7. It seems to me G930W8 has the necessary LTE bands for Verizon and T-mobile, which are the carriers used in our family. Does anyone have any experience with either US carrier? Is there any issue? I am picking this model mainly because it's not bootloader locked like the Snapdragon models (US models), so in the future I can load any custom ROM.

Did you ever get this phone and find out if it works on Verizon? I have rooted my G935W8, but my friend's G930W8 is unlocked and unrooted. I am trying to find out if she can use it on Verizon. The Verizon reps where she is says it will not work. She has just moved there, and needs a working phone. She was using it on T-Mobile, but that doesn't give her any service in the part of Utah she is now in. If she were somewhere she knew people, I would have her ask someone if she could test their sim in her phone, but she doesn't know anyone there yet.
Hello,
Haven't been here for a while and saw the treads saying the G930T is flashable with the unlocked version, so I am excited to do that when I get home. I currently using Cricket, which is a subsidiary of AT&T, so I was thinking of flashing the AT&T bands. Would this cause any problems? I saw others have flashed the T-Mobile with no problems to keep wifi calling, but considering I don't need those, would I even see a performance increase for using the AT&T bands on the G930T? That is the only reason I was considering it.
Lastly, I was on the Sammobile site, but there are two versions of the 930U listed, one as USA and one as USA: T-Mobile (https://www.sammobile.com/firmwares/galaxy-s7/SM-G930U/). Do I need to use one over the other?
Thanks for the help!
