Hello there, not sure if this is the correct place for this but here goes!
I recently got a 2013 VW Golf. It features a nice stereo system that I would really like to get working properly with my phone.
The "phone" part of the system works. I can see my contacts, read my messages etc but the issues I face are to do with the media playback.
The music plays but I cannot skip tracks. Also if I try to pause the track it keeps playing in the background if that makes sense?
I have tried other phones in my car including but not limited to an Iphone 5,6,7 and plus versions there of, a galaxy s7 and a htc m8.
I have also tried my phone in other cars and all seems to work fine.
Is there anything I can do to get this to play properly together?
Thank you for your time.
Have the similar issue in my 2016 Navara i cant skip or pause unless i mash the button(if i mash next track it will still skip a song for everytime i pressed it so my work around is press next track and mash the play button so it only skips one song).. the phone is receiving the command because it will do the commands after the song finishes or if i press any button on the phone eg. Listening to a song and i press next track in my ute then press pause on my phone it will at that point skip the song.. weird issue. Again it works on every other device i have just fine.

Hi all! I have an xdaiis & its running o2 1.40. I often listen to music whilst out however haven't found a way of listening to media player but not allowing the unit to function by an accidental tap of the screen or a button, and pressing power stops media player too. Is there a way of stopping this?
Thanks
Leo
You could use one of the many software tools available to lock your PDA until you unlock it via a specific combination of keypresses - I had one on my own XDA until I hard reset it - can't remember what it's called right now, but the icon is just a yellow padlock.
listening to music with your device off
Leo,
I accidently found the solution to your problem !!
Start the media player and then press the centre button of the navigation pad to black out the screen. The media player will continue playing songs without the device coming alive by accidental pressing of button or tapping on the screen. To bring it back, press the centre button of the navigation tab again.
Try and see if it works for you.

The Action button (centre D-Pad) on my 2i switches between play and pause in my install of Windows Media Player 10, just for the record.
Turn display off
go to wmp settings or options and navigate to buttons.. assign a button for display toggle.. Tat solves u
Thanks for your help guys!
Unfortunately the screen toggle only works with the screen & my buttons are still activated which my krussel case always presses against.
Anyone know of a way of stopping the buttons too? It's crazy that it has been designed this way!
Thank you
Leo

Try DeltaLock. It's very small and simple, and does just what you're looking for.

Problem is solved! Thank you ramjet73, Carty, christopherwoods & phantom1261 for your help! Now i can easily listen to music without being charged because GPRS connects!
Thanks again!

So, here's my situation:
After I go to the gym, I like to go to the hot tub. That's simple. What I do is put my Mogul in my backpack and play music through my HT820 Motorola headphones. Also easy. Problem is: I have shuffle through my WHOLE collection of music on my storage card to get anywhere, which can take minutes sometimes. Enter MSVC.
This seemed like the best thing for my needs, the only problem is that it requires hitting the blasted Voice Command button on the phone in order for it to do anything. Which, in my case, is not exactly possible (As the steam would probably degrade/destroy my phone). So, I was wondering whether or not it was possible to assign the Voice Command button to the right "M" button on the headphones. Unfortunately, after pairing the devices on the offchance that that button showed up under the "buttons" menu, I realized it wasn't going to be quite that easy. So... In summation... Is this possible at all, or is there some other means of accomplishing it?
Bumpity bump bump, as I could really use some help on this.
Did you want someone to read through the posts on assigning buttons for you and retype the answers here? I have some time next Thursday and can do that for you.
are you sure you are using your headset right , I have a sony ericsson hbh 970 stereo headset, and that has a button on it, that activates VC for me ! maybe you need to press and hold something.

Don't worry about it.
Hi guys, Just wondering if there is any media player that will allow me to set the next track function to lots of different buttons.
Basically i want to set all the face buttons well 1-9 and * and #, just so when its in my pocket i can prod my phone to change the tracks and not have to find a specific button. I have wmp and tcpmp on my phone now so if theres a way for either of those that would be great.
Cheers.

p.s cool forums btw already found plenty cool stuff on here.
Ok guess not, nevermind. What about my headset, it has the button to accept calls etc could i map that to the next function? ive tryed in wmp but doesnt recognise it. Also when i double click the button on my headphones it rings one of my contacts which ive done accidently once or twice now, anyway to stop this?
Cheers.
I'm having problems with the controls on my bluetooth headset(Jaybird Bluebuds) connected to my M8(stock).
The headphones have an inline remote with three buttons- one for volume up, one for down, and in the middle one for play/pause. The middle button is activating some redial command when all that it should be doing is play/pause. I was able to find reports of similar issues via the google which suggested several different applications which were suppose to fix this but none of them were able to fix the problem for me. They sort-of help by making it so the first few times I hit play/pause it works but then later on I get a little voice saying redial several times in rapid succession as if it is just getting queued up.
To be clear, this is just on a single press completely different from the long-press that activates the voice command thingy.
It was mostly working as desired a while ago, occasionally it would mess up but I attributed that to me not hitting the button right. Lately it has gotten unbearable. It has been especially difficult to try and narrow down this problem as it seems to be random as to whether it decides to play/pause my music properly or try to redial. Since I am constantly using my M8 as a podcast/audiobook player I really need to get this fixed, and if I need to do any rooting or custom rom stuff to get it to work how I need it to I'm willing, but I need to be pointed in the right direction.
Hello.
I'm new to the Galaxy S8+ phone i do have now, but i'm not new to Samsung's phones though as i have been using their phones constantly since 2011.
On my earlier phones, i have been running my phones with root access where i can fix alot of things. However, on my Galaxy S8+, i have decided to not root it or install any custom ROMs on it as long as it will cripple Samsung Pay.
So as i was running with root earlier, i always found a way to make the music players to change songs while pressing the volume up and volume down buttons.
For some reasons, that doesn't work in Spotify or PowerAMP on the Galaxy S8+ with the 100% original firmware and latest version of their firmware for it here in Norway. In PowerAMP, you can make it to change the songs in the 'Settings' menu by pressing those buttons, but it doesn't work no matter what i do.
Same goes for Spotify. Instead of changing the song, it just increases or decreases the volume if i hold the volume up or down button on either the phone or the headset button.
Does anyone have any solution to this issue?
Is this just me or is it a no go for everyone atm?
Somebody feel free to correct me, but I don't believe that this is supported on Samsung devices. I have had a Note 5, S7 Edge, Note 7, and now the S8+, and this never worked on any of them. If you're using headphones with inline controls, you can double tap the center button to go to the next song, or triple to (I think) to go back a song.

I've never noticed as I've always had my phones running custom roms and of course those options were always available but not useful to me...

Double pressing the center button on the headset control did work. But i can't get the tripple press for going back on a song to work though.

That's a tough move to execute I find. I have the same issue on my iPhone. Double press is easy but triple press has to be perfectly timed to execute properly. Also, like the normal back button it will first put you to the beginning of the current song and then you have to triple-press it again to go a song back. Reference below still applies.

I still can't get the tripple press to work though, so not sure if it's just me doing something wrong or if that thing is removed on the Galaxy S8 / S8+ over the Galaxy S7 / S7 edge phones.
Anyone knows if there is an app that doesn't need root access to fix this?

I'm going to test it with my out of the box earphones and let you know if it works on mine. I am not aware of any app that allows for this except for USB Audio Player Pro.
Update. Today i got the tripple press function to work like they should. So that's good. I already had the double press function working, so that was fine.
So after i have been changing songs this way for a little time now, i'm sure it will be as easy to do as the long press way is to do.
