Hi guys, Just wondering if there is any media player that will allow me to set the next track function to lots of different buttons.
Basically i want to set all the face buttons well 1-9 and * and #, just so when its in my pocket i can prod my phone to change the tracks and not have to find a specific button. I have wmp and tcpmp on my phone now so if theres a way for either of those that would be great.
Cheers.

p.s cool forums btw already found plenty cool stuff on here.
Ok guess not, nevermind. What about my headset, it has the button to accept calls etc could i map that to the next function? ive tryed in wmp but doesnt recognise it. Also when i double click the button on my headphones it rings one of my contacts which ive done accidently once or twice now, anyway to stop this?
Cheers.
Is this possible?
I've got a problem: While listening to the music, my raphael is locked. But one touch on the tiny button of the headset the "telephone" activate itself, and after another press the last call will be called again. Not sooo nice....
Is there a choice to deactivate this?
Noone an idea? I think this isn't a tiny problem...
Does anyone know of a program that will let me remap what the buttons (volume) on my BT headset control? I would like them to control the up and down on my phones D pad when I am using the TV out on my Touch Pro. This way I can kill two birds with one stone. I can put to use one of my old crappy headsets and walk around the room while doing a powerpoint presentation. It seems pretty simple but in searching around I havent found anything...
Thanks!
I'm pretty sure the only data hardware key on your headset is the Call button. the volume keys don't transfer any data to your device.
I doubt you can remap them.
ahhh yes. Didnt think about that. Darn it. foiled again.
It is still possible for you to use the call button for 'down' to go forward a page.
Check out my posts on http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=435742.
You should be able to adjust this to suit your needs by putting a value of 40 in vjkeypress for down.
just wondering.. but why not use your phone for powerpoint presentations rather than the headset?
it's been a while I really wanted a special app, but now it's time, two days ago i bought a new BT headset a Samsung bhs3000, the problem lies in the answer button press (read by mistake) redials the latest dialed number. with a call confirm app like Call Confirm so it stops the redialing, BUT I want it either just started when bt hedsetet is connected or/and between certain hours. Is anyone having any suggestions?
only thing I've found is just the reverse of what i want, it turns the call confirm off on bluetooth connect.
I would like to see in the app:
dialog box with something like "would you call?" buddy picture, Number , buttons: call and cancel.
maybe 2-3 simple themes say dark, light, and anything else? (not necessary)
opportunity to have it running regular, on/off at BT connect, between certain hours and on/off bt connect AND times.
do not know right away if I got everything so input is warmly welcomed.
I've been looking for something like this for a while as well. The best advice I can find is, buy a Bluetooth earpiece (headset in your case) where you don't accidentally press the button. I was directed to one with a slider that keeps the button inaccessible. But I don't want to buy a whole new earpiece, and I suspect you don't, either.
Now there is an app in the market, for free, and I forget the name (sorry) that changes what happens when you tap the Bluetooth device's main button. Default is voice command. You can set it to anything you like (or nothing). But I emailed the dev, and they have no control over the long-press of the Bluetooth's main button (seems to be universally redial).
Call confirmation would be a good feature overall. When you call (with Contapps, for example, it's easy to accidentally call if you forget long-pressing a contact calls them, you might think it would bring up a menu) you should be presented with the contact's picture, name, phone number, and maybe other details, with a "swipe to call" and a cancel button.
If something like that were especially elegant, it would even be worth laying down some coin for.

I think we are on the same track here, as for buying a new headset it's not a big deal but the thing is that the Samsung one supports apt-x for better sound quality as do my upcoming sgs3 and changeable ear prices. Long press is fine for voice dial well for me it is. But the single press redial is not
Was searching for that app you mentioned but came up with nothing im afraid :-(
I don't need call confirm all the time only when i have the bt hs connected which I have from 08:00 to 17:00 but to appeal to a broader audience the app could work with that too.

one way to handle this on a rooted system would be to remap the key in /usr/keylayout/avrcp.kl, you could even comment the line out so it doesn't respond to it at all.
Yeah been talking to a guy on a big swedish android forum, he told me the same thing as you but not much more like how and what I should edit.
So any ideas? Is it the same on all phones? Got a xperia play Samsung has F ed up the shipment of pebble blue sgs3 to Sweden.
My file well on the play anyway looks like this :
key 200 MEDIA_PLAY_PAUSE WAKE
key 201 MEDIA_PLAY_PAUSE WAKE
key 166 MEDIA_STOP WAKE
key 163 MEDIA_NEXT WAKE
key 165 MEDIA_PREVIOUS WAKE
key 168 MEDIA_REWIND WAKE
key 208 MEDIA_FAST_FORWARD WAKE
I'm having problems with the controls on my bluetooth headset(Jaybird Bluebuds) connected to my M8(stock).
The headphones have an inline remote with three buttons- one for volume up, one for down, and in the middle one for play/pause. The middle button is activating some redial command when all that it should be doing is play/pause. I was able to find reports of similar issues via the google which suggested several different applications which were suppose to fix this but none of them were able to fix the problem for me. They sort-of help by making it so the first few times I hit play/pause it works but then later on I get a little voice saying redial several times in rapid succession as if it is just getting queued up.
To be clear, this is just on a single press completely different from the long-press that activates the voice command thingy.
It was mostly working as desired a while ago, occasionally it would mess up but I attributed that to me not hitting the button right. Lately it has gotten unbearable. It has been especially difficult to try and narrow down this problem as it seems to be random as to whether it decides to play/pause my music properly or try to redial. Since I am constantly using my M8 as a podcast/audiobook player I really need to get this fixed, and if I need to do any rooting or custom rom stuff to get it to work how I need it to I'm willing, but I need to be pointed in the right direction.
