Just checked the TMO software update site and Nougat for the Note 5 now has moved from "Testing" to "Completed".

The OTA updates should be coming very soon!!!
There's multiple threads about this topic.... Why even post another one?

Because this is the first tmo confirmation of availability without Smart Switch or having to use Odin. We tend to forget that newbies get confused about options other than Ota.
Got my update last night. ☺

I saw on the Internet that KitKat 4.4.4 with security bug fixes has been launched only for nexus 5 through OTA but when I check for updates, the phone says your system is up to date. I'm running stock android 4.4.3 unrooted. Why is this happening? Any help regarding this?
P.S. - I don't want to update using factory images. Only using OTA. Want to know why my phone is unable to get the update.
Thank you

They roll out in stages. You'll have to be patient or check out the ota help in the general forum and download the ota zip

Floating around here are stock 4.4.4 zips you can flash.

Don't worry. I've not received it either. Google sucks with updates and gives absolutely no change log or support. Apple walks all over them in this area. I've read it may take two to three weeks for everyone to get it.

and thats why on update day at apple it takes 12+ hrs for the update to download because their servers are hammered.
pick your poison.
I'd definitely take the staged rollout. No question. Then again, I never wait for an ota. There are plenty of other options available if you're not patient enough to wait. Even waiting for the ota, you'll still get the update before most other devices. Some won't get it at all. Wait, or go a different route. Simple.

I don't understand why people who are so desperate for the update don't just install a custom recovery and flash the zip.
Or just adb sideload like a savage.

Use Odin
Link for the FW.
Follow this link for the firmware update.
It has the most recent update available for our phone other than OTA. It is 5.1.1 and there are instructions and a link to the ODIN software.
I finally got it to work, thanks anyways I'm on og7

Glad you got it

The link above has OG5. Good. Smartswitch gives you OG7. Better. OTA is OG9. Required for Samsung Pay.
Question: How long does it take for Smartswitch version to catch up to OTA?
Answered my own question. OTA was on 10/16. Today on 10/23, OG9 is available on Verizon Software Upgrade Assistant. I assume Smartswitch would've also had it if i tried it first.
I have chatted with Verizon asking when the S5 going to have Marshmallow. Well, this morning I asked then they said it is possibly coming out this month. They said "We do not have the resources to tell a date but we expect I to be released sometime this month." Who can't wait until the update rolls out. Leave in the comments your date for the release. I would post a picture but this is my first post
I expect it to be released 4/16

Sorry man.
Try Eclipse or FreedomROM
There's an old saying, "If a Verizon rep claims something in a forest, and no one is around to hear them, is it still incorrect?"
It's been my experience that if you get told anything by 1 rep, 4 are waiting in the wings to completely discredit the other. If you can get 5 out of 5 reps to claim something then, maybe, only maybe 50/50, it's correct.
I've had verizon for over 10 years... when they say it'll be out, it'll be out either a year after they say or never

You know big red will most likely patch it so no rooting or downgrade. I'm have been on bod5 bootloader since we found out you can no longer downgrade to kit kitkat so I can go from kitkat to lollipop sad thing is my cid is 11 : ((

Won't you be able to do an upgrade and keep root even if your Cid is 11

My only thing is, I want that firmware out so I can flash TW Marshmallow Roms. Unlocked my bootloader.

No, right now the only way to root M is to modify the bootloader, not possible on BL locked devices which is the case for 11s last I checked.

As of right now my bootloader is bod5 so I can downgrade to kit Kat if needed. If they can find a way to unlock cid 11 I would probably upgrade

If they can't fix the bluetooth issues on MM, I won't be able to upgrade.
I am currently downloading the Nougat Beta Update for my S7 Edge and wanted to let others know how to do it.
1. I registered through the Samsung Beta programs a few days ago from the Samsung App Store
2. I did a manual check for updates through the About section in the settings.
Downloading update as we speak.

You need to go to the Samsung App Store ans search for Beta and register.
There is no link because it is done through the over the air section under about/manual update in your phone settings menu.

Registration is over now right? I tried before 3 days but it said sorry maximum number of registration reached. so I missed the train. but I did flashed it's leaked firmware via odin then and due to some problem I'm on stock MM and hopefully will stick to it unless Nougat gets Finally official.

Actually you got it via OTA and mine was leaked version so might be a little difference could be I there. And also I wouldn't be getting the next update via OTA cause it wasn't from samsung source. On the other hand somehow after flashing the Nougat my sim card got killed. I don't know how. then I replaced the sim & now I'm afraid to loose my knox warranty tripped. also faced some minor bugs- like a notification never closing from the status bar and some more. that's why I came back to MM. by the way I'm not from UK neither from BTU csc. I'm actually XSG csc. Bangladesh.

Hey so I'm curious, I used firmware.science to update my t-mobile note 9 to pie. The build number currently is different from the official T-mobile build number, is it plausible that my phone would still recieve the official update, or would I have too use another method???

OTA updates are controlled by your carrier, if you update the device with a different firmware than what is offered by your carrier for your device, then yes, that may interfere with future OTA updates offered by your carrier.
But, you can always just update manually, some devices have updates available but actually have to update manually because the carrier doesn't offer the update via OTA, some devices never get OTA updates from the carrier even though there is an update available to the public for the device.

Thank you, that's good to know. My wife's phone updated last night and the firmware.science website now has the t-mobile build listed. Considered what you said as far as having a different build number from what t-mobile has and it possible affecting future updates, I'm thinking it might be a good idea to re update with the correct build as not to miss any critical updates in the future.

As long as you have a T-mobile specific build, you "should" never have issues with updates.
Other builds may or may not still allow you to get updates, but why bother with a guessing game when you can use a T-mobile specific build instead.
