Screen Brightness within Messaging, Chrome and other apps

I assume this is a feature and not a bug (and not a problem with my Mate 8). When I open the Messaging App, Chrome App or some other apps it would appear the screen brightness is reduced within that app. This has nothing to do with the normal Auto Brightness settings but appears backed into the phone's software.
Has anyone else noticed this?
UPDATE: Setting the Power Plan to Performance changes this behaviour! Wonder what my absolutely Amazing battery life will be like now?
For me it's the converse. When I open Whatsapp after unlocking the phone, increases the brightness. I'm not using auto brightness and use only performance mode

I have same problem, in messanging app, dialer or browser display brightness is reduced noticeably. Tried with different themes, power plans and brightness settings.

I have this issue and after updating to Android 7.0 Nougat i can't find Power Plans anymore. How can i set it to performance?
Change to performance power plan. Smart plan does stupid things. Not that smart huh..
Anyone? This happens on my Mate 9 pro as well...
It did happen after updating to nougat , plus a strange YouTube issue when playing in 480p and less the video appears stripped , and these strips disappear after switching to 720p

Tolino Tab 8 Screen Dimming Problem (Intel DPST, CABC?)

Hi,
I recently bought a Tolino Tab 8 with a Intel Atom Z3735 processor, running on KitKat 4.4.4. Everthing works fine but every time i switch between apps the screen brightness changes depending on the background of the app e.g. when i open twitter (mostly white background) the screen brightness goes up and when i go back to the home screen (black background) the brightness goes down. No matter if i enabled auto dimming in the settings or not. I've read that has something to do with Intels Display Power Saving Technology which is used to extend the battery life of the tab. I tried to edit the build.prop (mentioned here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=65422943&postcount=1786 ) to turn it off but nothing worked so far. I also tried to find the driver settings itself ( mentioned here https://forums.lenovo.com/t5/Lenovo...Tab-S8-50-Screen-Dimming-Problem/td-p/1873040 ) but could'nt find the right settings.
The Tablet was manufactured by Trekstor if this matters somehow.
Hope you guys can help me to solve it.
I also have a minor bug where i can't change video resolution in the youtube app above 720p even the Display has the resolution of 1920x1200 which i think has something to do with 4.4.4.

H959 screen brightness

I've been using my G Flex 2 H959 for more than 1 year and I'm loving it in every way except one thing, the screen brightness. The screen is damn too bright to use it in the dark. It is so bright that the only way i can use it in the dark is as a flashlight. Seriously!
So is there any mods that can adjust the minimum screen brightness setting? I'm currently on V15E-SEA ROM and haven't root it yet.

Hey, there is only apps that you can find on play store. In my case, I use "Night Owl".

Hi everybody,
I couldn't create a new Thread because I am new, that's why I Post this here:
i tried a few screen filter apps to analyze if they would actually improve my batter life with the following setting:
I Played a 40 minutes video file, sound off for no side effects
Battery not at 100% to avoid calibration shift stuff
No extreme load before to avoid other misleading battery measurements..
With A:
Pixel filter app: pixelize almost to the maximum (actually custom setting, i would say about 80-90 % dead pixels)
System brightness: to max (i assumed maximum differences with this)
B:
Darker app: darken to 20%
System brightness to max
C:
No filter app
System brightness to max
In each Case I dropped 9 to 10 % with every run... This is unexpected..
1st question: anybody else with the same findings?
2nd: any ideas for reasons for this? (i know that 40 minutes isnt THAT long, but 10% is i think)
I use Lux to go below the minimum brightness. It is also a better solution for auto-brightness if you can configure it well.
Yea, I tried Lux a while ago..
U are right, it is well configurable for auto brightness BUT
On the one hand it's interface is oldscool ugly and userunfriendly (just like a real professional Application) - so there is no well usable notification if u want to override lux for short e.g.
On the other hand lux doesnt dark the navigation bar buttons like darker does <- this is a critical point in dark conditions
And on the third hand, if you have or like, lux won't effect battery life like any other filter App, or is it just me??

How to disable high brightness screen when using camera

Is it possible to make a screen brightness normal while using a camera
I wish this was possible also.
It's limited by android.
You can flash CM on A9 to have this function.

Click to collapse
Yeah, weird issue, make sure you report it to Oneplus so it gets patched next update. Since it's the first Android 11 stable there still are some bugs
