I'm seeing this home button message on the always on display. TMobile US version, and apparently not everyone is seeing this message. Tried various options, restarted etc but the message doesn't go away. Anyone else have this message constantly display on their always on display? Suggestions?
Posted this like 3 times yesterday.
Do as it says and go though the guide. Basically hit next in the bottom right corner then it will turn in OK.
And you have see that again.
Yeah, I had the same problem. You have to go through the tutorial (do exactly what it says) as xile6 mentions and it will go away.

Hey all,
Praying you can help as I'm soooo pissed at AT&T. So my wife's Galaxy S6 is only a 4 months old and for the last 2 months she has been dealing with this issue of her phone just randomly switching between apps and programs. For example her phone will just be sitting on the table and we hear a clicking noise (the same noise like when you text) so I look we look at phone and it's switching between messages, pandora, phone list etc. there is not set of apps/programs it chooses them at random. I tried shutting down some apps and no good. I called AT&T and they had me do a factory reset of the phone, no good. Took it to the store and they sent us to the service center for replacement. But when we got there they said there is water damage to the phone so we are SOL. Now i'm pissed, her phone has never been in water. She works at a hospital and when she comes home, all she does is wipe down the phone with a baby wipe and that's it. I tried to explain to them I understand where they are coming from but this is clearly a software issue. They are refusing to help us. I told them I work in the IT field and again it's clearly software issue or a lemon device, but they are hanging their hats on water damage of course.
So my question to you all, is there some way to roll back the software or to jailbreak it to fix this issue?
Has anyone seen or heard of this before?
Lastly I have this on video happening if anyone wants to see it i can text or email it to you.
Sorry so long....Thanks in advance,
Ryan
Sounds like screen issue whereby a portion of the screen believes it's being interacted with. Factory reset may be a good start. Backup anything you need to first of course!
Settings > Backup and a reset > factory data reset. Failing that it's a hardware fault and the vendor should advise where to get the device looked and and repaired. Good luck!

Thanks for the reply yeah we did that and no go. And like I said above they did tell us to go to the service center and they said cause the phone had water damage (which it was never in or around water) that they won't touch it.
You could try this:
Open the dialpad and dial: *#0*# to start "Testmode".
The test "Touch" will test your screen for touch events, just leave it, and see if something happens without you interacting.
Test "Sub key" will test all the hardware keys. The screen will change color if a key is pressed. Again, just leave it and see if the screen change color by itself.
Use doubletap on back-key to get back to menu.
Let us know the results.

Ok I tried what you told me. In "Touch" test the screen is white with a bunch of boxes that form a box with an X in it. I hear the phone clicking back and forth like it does when it's switching between apps/programs, but I do not see them switching on the screen like I normally do. Other than than nothing else happens. If I touch the screen the boxes turn green as I touch them. When I turn all the boxes green it takes me back to the main screen
In "Sub Key" test, the screen turns a mustard color and stays that way. Again I hear the clicking like it is switching between apps/programs but I don't see them I just see the mustard screen. If I hit the back key twice to return to the main menu the screen turns purple and then violet and then takes me back to the main screen
At the main screen, again I hear all the clicking but don't see the apps/programs I just see the main screen that appears after I put in the sequence you gave me.
There are many other options, would any of those help?
Thanks again!!
Ryan
Lastly it seems to happen far more frequently in this mode than when using the phone normally

Mustard color in sub key test means your app switching key (to the left of fingerprint key) is pressed down by itself. If all OK, screen stays black.

OMG awesome!! so now I know what the heck is going on!! thank you sooo much. Now is that something I can get fixed? I had a S4 a few years back and dropped it in water not once but twice. I had to take that phone apart a few times to cover it in rice and to replace a few parts (camera, mic, and antenna). Is this something I can do myself or can take somewhere and have someone do it or am I just SOL?
I would leave it to a pro, but if you feel comfy with disassembly of cellphones and have the right tools, go for it. Let us know how this ends.

Hi all
Just wondered if anyone else has had a BSOD?
Brand new out the box, my Z5 connected and Google instantly downloaded my apps and contacts associated with my account from previous phone (Sammy Galaxy S4). This was OK, but it took a while and was about 70 apps. I rebooted after it was all done, of course, but occasionally I get this damn Black screen where everything is unresponsive (can't upload screenshot yet)
The only way to wake the phone up from this dark coma is to either reboot or switch user to guest then switch back again. Nothing else seems to work. Its probably one little app incompatibility but don't know how I'm going to find it except uninstalling 1 app at a time and testing the phone to see if it reoccurs. Could take ages to figure out.
Anyone suffering from this?
YES
Finally! Someone who seemingly has the same issue as I do!
It seems to happen most often when I hit the home button from snapchat, or some other camera app, but not always. Other details about my issue:
Screen goes black, but is clearly on. Status bar can still be dragged down, notifications can be pressed but do not respond. They can be dismissed.
Home screen, back, and recent apps buttons still respond, but do not do anything EXCEPT once in a while I can get it to go to just my background... no apps, icons, or anything else. At this point, the recent apps button disappears.
Prior to getting the black screen, my phone will not lock. It will turn off the screen when I press the power button, but when I press it again it is already unlocked.
Not sure what's up, or what I can do! Rebooting the phone helps for a little while, but I get it usually once or twice a day. It seems like it happens more on weekends, but that could just be confirmation bias since I used it more.
:crying:
Hmmm...
for me it doesn't seem to be triggered by anything - it just happens. (I don't have snapchat installed)
I've uploaded the screenshot as my profile image, so you can see the back triangle is the only thing that is not blacked out, that and the very top (battery/clock,signal, etc). If I tap the screen bottom right where the square is instead of seeing a list of recent apps the screen will flicker as if the list is scrolling up the screen but it all stays dark. I'm thinking of factory reset then reinstall everything. A PIA but as I have unlimited data it's no biggy.
Thanks for replying, Vargasm, and good luck with solving it. If you find anything out post back!
I have the same issue on my Z5 premium. There is no solution except reboot it. T^T
i have the same problem here. Phone is only a week old and totally stock. Have heard it may be due to a screen protector if you use one. I am loathe to remove mine though.
Sitting in a theater, trying to keep the screen from coming on, when suddenly I got 2 lines of Koren on the screen and a button on the bottom in blue labeled OK. Took the place of my watch face. Had to turn it off and on to get rid of it. Did NOT hit OK. Anyone seen that before?
It is used by MRTIMEMAKER appwhich has a non-loclized part in it.
It just states to accept the recently chosen watchface. Pressing OK just loads it to the screen
Is anybody else getting the split window feature just turning on randomly when doing something else. I can't figure out what is making it turn on, if I'm hitting the recent button accidentally or what but it tries to turn on split window randomly at times and I cannot figure out what is making it do it or how to turn it off.

Pressing and holding the Recent button brings up the split screen option.
Maybe you are accidentally hitting the recent button with your palm while using it in your left hand.
Little update, I took it to Best Buy and the Samsung guy watched it happen, as well as the camera came on and shut off on its own. I got the phone swapped out and this one seems fine.
Also happening to me. I have the GS7 from TMobile. There is an app that some people has recomended to deactivate the split acreen feature; it works, but is not a permanent solution. Hope Samsung fix it in a software update... I hope is not a hardware issue. I don't have a cover nor a screent protector.
I went to the T-Mobile store to try to exchange it for another one. Since the issue is hard to prove (it doesn't happen every time), casually, the person that helped me at the store was the manager (who was greeting the customers that came in). After describing the problem to her, she told me that T-Mobile had received an alert in their systems about this issue and that it appears to be a hardware problem. They exchange mine for free even when I had exceeded the 14 day window.
I have an HTC Desire 610, a little over two years old.
Out of no where I started getting the error 'com.android.systemui has stopped' that I usually can't get passed. If I hit 'ok' it pops up again right away, and changes my background back to default with all my wiggits and apps still showing.
I reset it a bunch of times, left it off to charge (realized today that was a correlating issue) and it seemed to stop. I redid my background, and it messed up again.
I'd just downloaded a bunch of new apps, but nothing I hadn't used before (it was going slow so I uninstalled just about everything to try and speed up)
I reset it through the phone settings, and was still getting the error in the set up page.
Tried turning it on and off a few more times and I either get the error message, or my screen will come up, but without the soft buttons and top menu bar.
Let it charge for the night, and seemed to be fine, but as soon as it turned off again, back to errors.
Noticed today, if it's charged (maybe over 20%) the error message doesn't pop up, but neither does my buttons or top bar.
Done safe mode,just got message.
Recovery, no bars.
Tried messing with the settings for the top bar, noting.
Didn't have anything fancy done to it, not rooted or anything, and none of my peeps have any idea.
