Scroll stuterring/lagging on Galaxy S8+ - Samsung Galaxy S8 Guides, News, & Discussion

Hi guys!
I got my S8+ Black yesterday, and I love it, but I have a couple of setbacks. In the first place, my screen is reddish, but adjusting the red slider in the settings makes it better.
The reason for me opening this post is other: Lag while scrolling through ANY app in the phone. Please look at the comparison I made with my Nexus 6:
This happens in every app, and it's driving me crazy. Can it be caused by the Samsung bloatware? I can't explain it otherwise. This phone has an absurd ammount of processing power! It should be smooth as hell!
Anyone else experiencing this?

Samsung Omnia W - Blurry lines on Super AMOLED Screen

Hi all, previous LG E900 owner and current Omnia W owner.
Since there is no dedicated thread for this phone (why?!) I think this is the appropriate thread to post this.
As the title suggests, my phone has blurry lines on screen. Like a burn in or something. Imagine you have a dirty window after a rain but with vertical grainy lines. I cant actually express it better and I do not have a good camera to take a photo of this.
The lines do not move as the images and colors move. They are static. The problem is heavily apparent on gray background. Worst exhibits are on the keyboard and on the numeric pad of the phone app, right there where you press numbers to make a call. Also, it is clearly visible on lower brightness, not so much on higher but still there. It is also visible on other colors too, even bright ones like red and lime.
After googling it I found out that many Samsung Galaxy S and S2 users have experienced this problem, even on newly bought phones. Many exchanged them, others learnt to live with it. So as far as I understand its some kind of defect on these screens and it really is a matter of luck what you get.
Any ideas on the matter? Any owner of this phone that experiences the same problem?
Let me state that I dont have a screen protector on the screen, yes I have cleaned it like a hundred times in the two days that I have it in my hands.
Please, try to avoid answers like its banding of colors or dust under screen and such. I have used LCD and AMOLED screens alot these past 2 years and this is the first time I see this.
Regards,
cybernouris
I have this problem too. It's a pain in the ass, I don't know why and how to fix it. My phone is a Samsung Galaxy S Advance, I've decided to open a thread today, like you, because no one reported the same problem. It's like a minor issue for anyone but it's clear that something is wrong with these Super Amoled screens, for me it's a real problem because it takes value from the phone and of course I think it's a piece of junk. I wouldn't be able to sell it on the price that I want it, imagine the deal...
Ok, if anyone knows what a heck is going on I'm gonna be more than thankful.

Weird scrolling on GS6

Has anyone experienced a change in the way their GS6 scrolls compared to their previous android phones? It seems to stop scrolling at exactly the second you stop your finger, rather than the natural slowing down. Its a bit jerky. I've read about it on some other forums. Would like your thoughts and opinions.

See through the screen?

Just got an S6 and it looks like you can see into the screen almost like you are can see the frame inside. I only noticed it in sunlight and on a white background especially in instagram. Any ideas? I'm considering returning it.
Found another thread on this issue. Sorry guys. Close thread.

Galaxy S6 Front Facing Camera Problems.

Hello everyone. I don't know if I'm within the rule book while starting this new thread. But after about half an hour of search, I couldn't find an appropriate thread to post my problem. So I thought creating a new thread would help. Sorry again, if I'm breaking any rule.
So I bought a Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge on the 3rd of August. Took it home, set it up, and just out of curiosity, compared it with another Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S6 Edge in the family. To my utter shock, I found out that the front facing camera on the newly purchased Edge was not as good as the one on the older ones. It was foggy and a lot whitish. The skin tones were coming out different and the colors looked washed out too. And in a relatively dark room, I felt the new Edge didn't let as much light in as the older ones did. I immediately reported it to the service centre and after a lot of speculations and contemplations and prejudice, it was finally replaced. I got a DOA Certificate issued. I took it to the dealer I got the S6 Edge from and this time decided to go for a Galaxy S6. I set it up, got it updated from the service centre to Android 5.1.1. So now, I have this newly purchased Galaxy S6 and the older Galaxy S6 and S6 Edge in the family. I again compared mine with the other two, this time with a bit of apprehension rather than curiosity. Needless to say and shockingly enough, this Galaxy S6 is pretty much like the S6 Edge I got replaced. The Images look darker, skin tone doesn't look fresh, feels like it's not allowing as much light in as it should. Let me mention the fact that the older S6 Edge and S6 have absolutely same front facing cameras. Not even a thin line difference there.
There are conditions where (especially outdoors during daytime) the three front facing cameras perform almost the same. It is when you come indoors that the new S6's camera takes a beating. I don't know what the reason is. All three of them boot the same Android 5.1.1. The Display settings are the same (there's no question of it as I clicked images and put them on my Laptop to compare) and so are the Camera settings. I even reset the new S6 to no avail.
Does anyone have any suggestions as to why the two back-to-back Phones had a problem, if at all it is a problem that is! Or is it that Sammy has started optimizing their front facing cams differently? The S6 Edge was manufactured in May 2015 whereas the replacement S6 got was manufactured in March 2015. No connection whatsoever there. And yes, the display tone on the S6 Edge is slightly warmer. The older S6 has a different display and the newer one is yet again in its own territory.
Will really appreciate any help from any one.
Should I report this to the service centre? Or are there any solutions?
The battery life is ridiculous too, especially after I got it updated to Android 5.1.1.
Thanks again.
Kind regards.

Questions and troubleshooting issues aren't to be posted in the General section, but here:

The mods will move it shortly. Good luck troubleshooting your problem.
Older Galaxy S6s had a different camera module, they used a Sony module.
Newer Galaxy S6 uses a Samsung module.
A lot of people prefer the older Sony cameras.

I think he is talking about the front camera. Its the rear facing camera that has got two modules, The Sony IMX and the Samsung ISOCELL. Regarding the front camera, we still dont have proper information as to which is which.

Image scaling

Ok so a quick question. Maybe the wrong forum did my best to find the right one. Please move if it isnt.
Ok so ive made a launcher pretty sick actually. On my galaxy s5 looks great. But anything with a bigger screen such as a tablet everything including the app icons are scaled-up terribly. So i was wondering how most solve the issue.
I figure if i design everything to 1080p and let it scale downwards that would work. But it might look a bit bad. And was wondering how the other launchers have appoached this issue. Also the app icons being small and scaling up i have no clue how to solve that.
