when you drag down it completely can't you see any edit button? (something like Pen or any icon represent editing)
cause that's default in all android 7.+
:good:

Drag it down completely and tap on the 3 dots on the top right corner. You can edit their arrangement there.

I rebooted the phone, and the 3 dots appeared. Maybe it was something in Nova launcher restore?

possible to hide notification bar, but still pull down?

Is this possible
hide the notification bar
but still be able to pull down and reveal notifications
I've always wondered so. It would look so clean, and work so well with certain setups!

I know you can on ADW EX..... can't remember whether Go Launcher or Launcher Pro can.....haven't used those in quite a while....
Long days and pleasant nights............
ADW Launcher Ex does that. it's what i use. then just set gestures - swipe down - open notifications.
oh damn, thanks anyways
im on LPP
Launcher Pro does do this. At least hides the notifcation bar. I use a swipe up to show the notifications. Doesnt take to long to get used to..
Also try Zeam if you prefer something lightweight.

Go Launcher has a function you can set to draw the status bar up and down. It works very well, Drag up and it goes away. Drag down and it appears. Drag down and notifications then drag down.
Dave
ADW is what i'm using now and am loving it for this reason. On my hero and evo i always used lp, when i got the epic it was go launcher. Even though i used ADW in the past i just stumbled across that feature recently and it is by far my favorite.
+1 for zeam on lightweight launchers.
Ics launcher will let you hide the notification bar and give you a taste of ICS at the same time

im using launcher pro and i do not see any options to use a 'swipe' action for custom actions.
how ever i do have my status bar hidden and changed my home key button to show/hide my notifications instead of showing a preview of all my screen which works better for me since im only using 3 screen

long press one of the dock icons, you can then choose "Swipe gesture"
I do the same as lilmexx, hide notification and swipe up across my dock icon to open the notifications.

oooh okay i gotcha.. forgot about those settings. pressing the home button for me seems to work better though & faster as sometimes it doesn't pick up my swipe action on the 1st try all the time

[Q] - Move bottom notification / status bar to top?

Has anyone managed to find an app or way to move the back/home/recent buttons + status etc. from bottom to top of the screen? My daughter loves playing with games but she keeps hitting the darn bar with her arm etc. (she's about 2 years+months and luckily smart enough to start the game again when pressing back/home etc. but it's annoying) and I've searched around but couldn't find anything regarding this. Only to ' hide' the bar (by killing it's process), but not move it to top.
Any idea's? Or did I miss something?
I may be wrong on this, but I think Asus put an option in the settings to let the status bar lock itself, so you have to hold down on the center a few seconds for the buttons to appear. You might want to try that.
I use GMD Gesture Control (Pro for custom gestures) -- one of its options I do not use is hiding the taskbar (by gesture). The only backdraw is that wallpaper will be reset to the default one when you toggle the taskbar back on. If that's an issue for you, you'll need an app that changes the wallpaper back to what it was from a folder or something (I know there are several in the Play Store that provide options like that, and they have been named in the forum elsewhere, I believe).
Unfortunately I can't find that option. Tried pressing long on bar, clock, home, screen and every corner I could find... nothing. Also didn't find this in any settings.
Edit.
Marty, tried that app too. Thanks, but games go all iffy if there is no bar (some, not all). Plus there are some bugs that just aren't handy. And again. Don't want to hide the bar, but simply move to top where there about zero chance of hitting it accidentally. (No clue why it had to be at the bottom to begin with anyway)

It's probably an xml file in res/layout in the SystemUI.apk file.
I have not been able to recompile SystemUI.apk so I cannot try to move it.
As soon as someone has figured out how to recompile SystemUI.apk, I will try to move it to the top.

[Q] Is there a way to "TRULY" disable the "Navigation Bar"?

Greetings!
I know there's a way to put the device always in "Immersive Mode", that way you can hide the Navigation Bar:
Code:
settings put global policy_control immersive.navigation=*
But every time I swipe from the bottom to any place in the screen, the NavBar appears again (thats really frustrating >_<).
I use LMT Launched (pie), so... I don't need the NavBar to be there.
Is there a real way to truly disable the Navigation Bar???
On some roms, there's a way to do it from inside options (like in Pure Nexus rom for example), I'm currently using RenovateICE, but that option is not implemented yet.
Also, the old trick to disable the NavBar (qemu.hw.mainkeys=1) does not work on Android 7+.
Thank you for your time!!! =D
This is something I'd love to see a workaround for. I love the immersive mode feeling but I can't stand that you can't disable the nav bar completely. It hinders your ability to use swipe gestures whenever it comes back on screen and really it just defeats the purpose so I stopped using it for now.
I'll wait for a way to disable the nav bar completely on the stock ROM before I go back to "immersive mode" (if anything of the like ever comes along that is).

Yeah, or for example, when the keyboard pops out, the NavBar appears. D=
I'm pretty sure that there should be a way to do it!!!
Hi,
I was facing the same thing, and decided to take the plunge and root my phone, just for this since I have an exynos version.
From then you can edit the prop build file and remove the navbar permanently.
I use Swipe Gesture (app) to navigate around the phone with every apps full screen, it is a game changer. You can even customise actions (long press launching split screen, ect...)

What line did you added to build.prop???
qemu.hw.mainkeys=1 ????
Lilolilo27, if you could elaborate on which parameter(s) you had to change in the build prop I would be forever thankful! I didn't think there would be an easy fix for this so soon!
Hi,
Yes just add the qemu.hw.mainkeys=1 line to the end of the build prop file with a root explorer and reboot.
Just for precaution, make a backup of the prop file before hand AND set up Swipe Gesture or any other navigation app BEFORE making the change (or your keys will be gone and you wont be able to navigate around your phone)
Thanks lilolilo27. I'll have to give this a go when I have a few minutes and see how I come up. Thanks for the heads up btw.

WOW, that worked now!!!
I tried this on the S7 Edge and Google Pixel (with android 7+) and I had a bunch of FC's.
I just applied this tweak to my S8+, and it worked smootly!!!

enjoy!
I personally love it, don't see myself using a navigation bar ever again
shame we dont have the same option as windows phone , the swipe up to hide the nav bar , simple but perfect

Added it to my build.prop on Oreo b2, and had the same issue. Have you tried the layers solution? I would, but I haven't purchased the Samsung extension and don't really want to until I know it works (my hunch is that it only works on Nougat)

Question Can you move the settings gear in the notification drawer

Hello. I have come from the Samsung One UI to the new Pixel 7 Pro, on the Samsung One UI the settings gear used to be one of the first you saw when you drew down the notification bar, is it possible to have the same on the Pixel 7 pro, cause as now I have to pull down twice to see it and that is pretty annoying.
Following
not that my suggestion is a solution or anything, as I wish it was easier to get to the Settings as well...
but in case it wasn't known, if you pull the notification down with 2 fingers, it brings it all the way down, so you don't have to pull down twice....
clearly very difficult to do this one-handed, so obviously not really a solution...but more of a workaround until OP or someone finds a satisfactory solution...
just wanted to mention this little bit for general knowledge spreading...
Can't move it, but other than the above mentioned workaround, you can do other things like put a Settings icon on your home screen, or using a custom launcher like Nova, designate a gesture to open Settings such as two finger rotation clockwise.
Matter of fact, I might designate that right now.

At first I didn't like it either but think of it this way... you have one hand available, you swipe down twice with your thumb, and with one hand you can now reach the settings button. If it was at the top you probably would not be able to reach it with one hand unless you have Pro basketball size hands with llllooooooonnnnnnnggggggggg fingers!
I 'walk" the shade down using my index and middle fingers.
Because I use Nova, the default gesture to open app drawer is two-finger swipe down, and I use that often, so my personal workaround is to 'walk' the shade down with 2 separate fingers in 2 separate swipes, but it's quick. Otherwise, two-finger pull down from the top edge does indeed pull the shade all the way down.
I like Rode Warrior's idea of a two-finger clockwise gesture in Nova though, I'll give that a spin (pun intended?)

pull down from the top, right bottom corner is the settings icon.
or put your home screen on 5 rows and put it in there.

Question App Icons Changing locations on its Own

Hi,
Does anyone faces this issue?
I have moved the app icons to the layout that I want and also lock the home screen layout.
However, the icons will still shift on its own to another page after a reboot. Then when I try to shift it back, it said the home screen is locked. Its weird that I cannot move the icons but the phone can move the icons even though the home screen layout is locked.
