I have recently bought the Mate 9 (black version) and after using it for a while I have noticed that the fingerprint sensor area, even after cleaning it, remains smudged with an abnormal part that appears more polished and tends to attract oil, I even used rubbing Alcohol, but it didn't disappear. the sensor works just fine. Apart from this smudge, the device looks gorgeous, although the matt finish of the back of the device attracts fingerprints, but it can be cleaned easily. Does anyone have this problem on the black mate 9 or other color versions of the device? I have the Nexus 6p as well (silver) and it doesn't show any abnormal finishing on the sensor..
I know exactly what you mean. I have the brown M9 and I've noticed this too. I tend to just ignore it as it doesnt interfere with functionality. Would love to hear if there's a way to clean it though.
I have the same issue with my black mate 9
Sent from my MHA-L29 using XDA-Developers Legacy app
After a hard reset, I can feel that my fingerprint has slow down.I wipe the cache and cleaned the fingerprint surface but that didn't help at all.Can Anyone help me please ?.I don't know what to do.
Any trusted , quality source of huawei mate 9 screen? Got my digitizer shattered . seems its tough to get it replaced alone.
Had my P20 since about 3 weeks and it looks like something is peeling off the bottom edge of the fingerprint sensor...
Not sure whether it has any protective foil on it that i am ok to just pull off... or is this button just going to fall apart soon...
Confused...
I have phone for 3 months and nothin is peeling off
Did you guys see drop test of poco f1 on youtube ? The display shatters very easily, it's a point of concern.
There's a reason why the phone costs so less. Using poly-carbonate body and Gorilla Glass 3 instead of going for glass body and Gorilla Glass 5. Get a decent screen protector.

This is de rigeur with mobile phones IMHO.
I've never had a mobile and not used a screen protector. Accidents happen and it feels like you'd be a fool not to do what you can to mitigate against your screen getting knackered. I've settled on glass screen protectors which have occasionally smashed, saving the actual screen from smashing - seems the obvious way to go
A decent fall always breaks the screen no matter how good the corning gorilla glass is,they mainly provide resistance to scratches ! Better invest in a good case and tempered glass, its all about certain angle and positions,be careful to be safe
Mi A2 have Gorilla Glass 5 but still didnt survive fall according to this video,

Guys, he did drop test after bend test.
So, glass was already loose from body.
So, it's obvious that it's breaks after fall.
Anyway, I just opened mine, it's feels as strong as my OnePlus 3t was.

oh yes why did i not catch this part lol
I have a Nexus 5, so probably the GG is worst than GG3. When GG3 launched people liked it, now its crap? I dont think so, only it has better versions. IMO every phone should use a glass protector and case.
Do you guys think a tempered glass for Mi 8 will somewhat fit Pocophone F1? The size a pretty close +/- 1mm. Notch is obviously different but the point is to find a temporary solution while accessories for Pocophone are available.
Just out of curiosity, since the phone share the same kernels.
Is it possible to use Twrp for Mi 8 on a poco phone? And mi 8 roms on a poco phone?

I dont think so, twrp and roms are related to device's partions and diffirent drivers. be patient

no the phones doesn't share the "same kernel". they have different configs which turns on different display drivers, different ir drivers, different front cam drivers etc.

Policarbonate is more flexible and resistant than Glass and Aluminium
Yeah, looks cheap and it is but also has another quality over the other 2 materials apart from shock absortion: signal transmissions
This guy says he dropped Poco F1 from 5 feet of height, what happened next? Here's the link

I have clumsy fingers, using the included silicon case without screen protector for the past 20 days.
Must have dropped it at least 4 times from 3 to 5 feet and no problems so far.
Although have a couple of barely noticeable scratches on the front screen , so Def need a scratch guard.

Thanks for making me google "de rigeur" .. On other note, I've never used protective glass, and dropped my iPhone 4, 5, and LG G3 (that one fallen from 2m on kitchen tiles) and nothing happened. I do worry about screen edges here being uncovered by plastic.
And a screen protector glass can only protect from mild hits. It's just how mechanics work. You don't have a spring cushion between two layers of glass.

ohhh please stop this bull****...first I never used a screen protector and had my phones without a single scratch at the screen, drop phones with gorilla glass 1 2 3 4 and 5 a drop depends of so many things get a good ****ing case and stop complaining
lol one drop of phone screen facing down on all phone's screen will shatter. 10/10 peoples now a day use a tempered glass protector
Does the screen get scratched easley without the default screen protector?
Good question, I don't normally use a screen protector but since this one was already on the phone I left it on.
Now the protector has several scratches and marks on so I am wondering the same about the screen if I remove the protector.

Does it gets scratches on daily usage.
My friend got 7X, launched together with V10, he has been using the phone without screen protector.
He has few minor scratches on the screen.
This make me wonder if honor might have used the same quality of screen on both devices then definitely it will not resist minor scratches.
On the other hand V10 and 7X are totally different phones, V10 being the flagship and 7X being the mid-ranger.
Nothing can be said certainty.
I posted this question after watching this
Screen test is quite surprising.
The rest of the tests are totally expected from any phone if you take a knife to the ports etc so not the least surprising and don't need the tests to tell what it is made from, you can tell anyways.
Good to see camera lens survives.

But even an old gorilla glass 3 can stand against this test
