Hello everyone.
Yesterday, I got weird problem (in one hand). Phone screen on touch becomes blurry, like it's liquified... This never happened before and I believe it's hardware problem. Here's YT video which shows whats happening:

Anyone had this kind of problem? Maybe some advice?

There is something pushing on the screen from behind. Push hard on a laptop screen or anything LCD and it will do that. It's to do with how LCD works.
I know, but how come it happened out of nothing? Phone has not been opened...

Friend of mine who works in T-mobile told me the same thing. He said I should wait for it to stop working and bring it to service as I still have warranty.
Thanks everyone.
cool mate
hope u will get the phone back to u hands asap.... so that u can explore and enjoy sg3
Hmm, my cousin had the same in SG3, but it dissapeared. He doesn't do anything about it, just it was gone after some time...
Hello!
Please help me to fix two (maybe there are more, I haven't noticed yet; but I hope there aren't any more) stuck pixels on my Cynus T1's IPS display. One pixel is somewhere at the top of the screen and is blue when the screen is black and... is dark when the screen is blue. Another one is always white and located somewhere on the right side.
I tried to fix these pixels by running JScreenFix with maximal brightness. Overall this app has worked for... errr.. 3 hours with regular pauses when I wanted to know whether these pixels have been already fixed.
So JScreenFix did'nt help. Maybe run it for more than 3 hours? BTW can other pixels get stuck because of this app running and display working for a long time.
Another idea I have read in one forum is to... freeze the phone in a refrigerator (previously putting out acc, cards and sim). It is claimed by some people that this method will help to free stuck pixels.
To say more, currently my phone is in a refrigerator. I hope this won't at least damage more pixels... Or should I run and get it out of there??
So, what can you suggest?? I repeat: screen is IPS type....
Hi, i'm new and know very little about how phones work. I clicked on the ota notice. It downloaded until the srceen lit up with the little coloured balls were swirling on the screen for about 20 seconds. The it went to a very dimly lit grey blank screen. I left it for about 10 mins but it just got hot. Then i started pressing the on button to turn it off. All i can get now is the grey screen. The alarm went off on it this morning so it is still working in some part. hope this makes sense.
Help needed please
tx
ok. i'm getting notification noises through for twitter. notificatin lights flashing plus noise.
I had a new screen fit last week (copy i think) is it likely the screen has died on me?

Well, might be a stupid question but... Does the screen works ? I mean, do you have the black screen & google logo when you boot ? Or just the grey screen ?

All i get is a very very dim grey screen when i mess with the on off button.
Nothing on it at all.
The screen was playing up a bit a few days ago. Cost me £110 to get it fitted.
The original screen broke near the volume rocker.

Chances are high it's the screen then, especially if it was or has been playing up since you've had it replaced. Go back to the shop that fitted it and ask them to fix it at their cost.

So, this isn't the origal screen of your Nexus 5 ?
Well, it seems like an hardware issue if you've got the same grey screen when the phone boots..
Who did the reparation on the screen ? You ? Google/LG ? Or a store ?

I got it done at a local market store. he did say bring it back if i had any problems.
just seems a bit odd that it went on the update. It did get very hot though.
I'l take it in on saturday and see if they will have a look.
Anybody think i'l be covered for the screen being bad from a market store?
tx for the replies.

Well, you won't be covered by LG/Google waranty (unless your local store is regognized by LG and has authorizations to change screens without woiding the warranty, but i have some serious doubts here :/)
I don't think that the temperatures would have killed the screen but, you may not mention it to you local store (or they will probably say that the temps are the cause of the dead screen and charge you for a new one..)
Good luck
I don't really know what is happening but my year old nexus 5 seems to be developing a display problem.
It got a yellowish tint at the bottom of the screen but the top 3/4 is totally fine. What is causing it and is it just me who have this problem? Also, if you have any, please post some solutions to the problem without RMA or replacing anything.
It might be something about light leak but I am not seeing any when the screen is displaying a black picture.

I have a similar thing but it tends to only be on the bottom 1/8 of the screen.
I tend to find this is because this is the least used area of the screen - being where the soft keys go. Try running it full screen, full brightness on a white page (probably using something like this https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.gombosdev.displaytester&hl=en_GB). When you do this, does the yellowish tint fade over time?

By Over Time do you mean 30 minutes or a day? I tried this method before for about half an hour and it does not seems to be working. Will try it again now. But will it really help?
My OCD is killing me. I told myself not to look at the tint and I end up just staring at it.
Hi,
When I have low brightness the screen the screen shows black horizontal lines as if it was like an interference.. (it's very visible on 0:27 in white background)
Do not know if its a hardware or software problem but when I increase the brightness the lines disappear.

It's very annoying, anyone else experienced this?
I haven't had that issue with mine. Could be software or hardware. If you really wanna make sure just do a factory reset without restoring apps and if it comes back it's a hardware problem.
Hi, anyway to backup everything so I can test ?
I'm also having this exact problem and i only received the phone today.
Mine appears to happen more significantly straight after an unlock of the phone (from the lock screen) , it does not appear to happen as frequently when the brightness is turned up fully however.
I have factory reset the phone (without restoring ANYTHING from other accounts/backups) and this has not helped. What's interesting is this is happening during the phones initial installation/setup also.... so before I've even entered any account info , i lock the screen and then unlock and i'm presented with flickering horizontal lines which remain for about 10 seconds and then the screen eventually rights itself, so this proves that it is not a user data issue.
It's also worth noting that this does not happen every time i lock and unlock. I've tried removing expandable memory, with an without charge cable , with screen brightness set to auto and off auto , taking the sim out, auto rotation on and off and none have stopped the issue. I'm going to call my provider tomorrow to see if i can get a replacement , but if thought i'd add my 2 cents

Hi
yes occasionally it happens with lock screen... and yes with max brightness it seems not happen...
Everything on my phone works perfectly, I don't have any other issues common which are reported here but this it's so annoying :s
I think it's the auto britghtness service but I don't know how to disable it.
Can you test if in VSCO app when you change filter it happens too more strongly (like it happens to me)

I've always just disabled auto brightness using the check box labelled (auto) next to the brightness slider .....?
And I've downloaded that app and yes it's also happening when i change the filters.
I've just come off the phone with my provider (vodaphone) and ordered a replacement which is free, as i only got the phone today
I haven't found any similar threads for this same problem for the S7 specifically (at the time of writing this) , but there seems to be similar issues with some nexus devices too , which also use AMOLED screens so could just be that we're the unlucky ones and have faulty devices. If your's is in warranty i would get it replace

the problem is that I 'm not already within 14 days and I did not want to be several days ( or weeks ) without S7.
How do I know if they give me a new one or try to fix this one ?
Can you show me the links with this similar problem on nexus?
what piece of hardware is faulty ?
what is for sure this is not a software issue. is it a problem of the screen or the integrated graphic chip ?

Bad news matte, I had the same problem ... I had to put the phone under warranty and there was told they would have to change integrated graphic chip. Now the problem is gone for good

Hi there! Do they have to change the screen also or is the chipset something standalone? Just happened to me today...

Hello,
It seems we have the same problem, I will proceed with warranty.
After a month of purchasing, the brightness sensor is failing, and the screen horizontal white lines. (Image 1)
drive.google.com/ open?id= 0B2Kw-KtTnhcSSGFraExIVEZ1Qzg
Then adjust the sensor to the maximum or minimum lines become smaller. (Image 2)
And finally if I expose the sensor in the sun or in this case to bright light (Figure 3) lines on the screen disappear.

may i know what model is your affected unit? is it s7 edge color black?
same issue here on my girlfriend's s7 edge from EE. im going now to ask for a replacement. i dont bother i have insurance but i'm still curious if it is the oled related problem or other component. in my opinion as technician it's a hardware related issue. I only think about i've never meet any software /os to have that issue ever. how can a software can do that if there are lines overthere specified for drawing certain things, the stripes/lines cannot come out of nowhere
First it was the dead pixels issue on the screen on the s7 n now the screen flickering lines on s7 edge n s7 ... These are not software bugs these are serious hardware issue very disappointing samsung shame even their gorilla glass is also a lie easily scratchable screen
Finally found a complete solution here.
Works like a charm.

Yes, I have my phone 3 years and the screen has been getting more and more dim over the last few months. The bottom 7/8s of the screen is darker thsn the top 1/8.
