Ok, I've searched the internets and this forum and could not find this issue. Basically, everything on this phone works fine, except for phone calls. Mind you speaker phone and BlueTooth and using the 3.5mm jack, works great for phone calls, but no audio is coming from the actually speaker for phone calls.
This seems more like a software issue, as when I dial a number and it calls, it makes the call, but the ability to mute audio is greyed out. However when I switch to speaker phone, I get audio and the ability to mute calls.
The phone is rooted with the stock android. I also used bloatware freezer to freeze a bunch of the unwanted junk. I'd say this was an issue with an app I froze, but the issue didn't pop up until recently (LAST WEEK)and I did the root/bloatware freeze months ago.
Hasn't been a major issue as I usually use BT or plug my phone into my car speaker system for phone calls. But in the instances where I don't have that stuff handy, using the speaker phone is an embarrassing mess.
My gripe with g2x speakers is why place them on the bottom of phone...
I usually cover the speaker on accident when holding the phone and prefer having a speaker on either top front or top back of the phone. Its too easy to cover the g2xs speakers where there placed.

The Phone speaker is at the top front for regular phone calls. The bottom speaker is for Speaker Phone and Audio/Video.
....ಠ_ಠ.....
I m pretty sure is at bottom.

I'd say... Do a nandroid and flash a different rom. As I don't know the finer details, I couldn't tell you something more intricate to do.
If it persists on other roms... Well, someone else will have to take over from there.
I recently cracked the screen on my AT&T One X. All phone functions were working fine afterwards. I replaced the screen with the LCD/front housing from eTradeSupply.com. After reassembly, everything works EXCEPT the microphone!
I took the phone apart a few times to make sure I had all the wires connected. I inspected the microphone/nav light flex and it appears to be fine (visually). I know the phone has two microphones, one at the bottom and one near the power button. I don't believe either mic is working, since:
1. I am unable to record sound in voice recorder.
2. I am unable to record sound on either channel in video camera.
3. During calls, people can't hear me in normal or speakerphone mode.
I can pair a Bluetooth headset and make calls that way, but I'd prefer to make calls normally.
Does anybody have any suggestions? I have ordered a replacement microphone/nav light flex just in case, but I'm not sure it will fix the problem as both microphones seem to be affected...
Thanks in advance,
Phil
Did you figure this out? I also ordered a screen from the same place and both microphones stopped working. Odd.

So my cousin bought this phone yesterday and during his first phone call noticed that he could only hear the other end of the call thru headphones or speaker. Verizon replaced it without question and there was no issue there. Was just wondering if anybody else got a defective device.

My first replacement had a bad ear piece. Cracking when turned up during a call.
My volume is low on earpiece during calls. I can't hear much unless I am in a quiet room. In my car with road noise (New B'Mer not very loud) I can hardly here other party

If you're talking about using ur phone up to your ear, speaker by front camera, I would say replace it! Mine is very loud on full volume, honestly the loudest cell phone speaker I've ever had for the regular speaker, not talking about speaker phone here.
Is there any way to change the in call Mic to run off the speaker phone mic? Maybe a mod or something? My bottom Mic went out and I can only talk on my phone using speaker phone or Bluetooth and that gets old but I don't have the money to replace the bottom Mic right now.
Not sure if any one has this "issue" when calling without a headset but does sounds of your calls seem better from back of the phone? I have noticed when calling (no speaker, and no headset) the callers sounds seems be louder from the back of phone (as if the speaker was installed backwards).

The sound of earpiece also comes out a bigger hole which is on top of the phone, next to sim card tray. Maybe that is what is happening?

Was thinking the same. Not sure seems odd they would miss something this simple. Unless it is just my phone.

Samsung made the hole in the top for the air to escape as the front earpiece slit is too narrow and wasn't enough
