it seems im the only one who has this problem?...
When radio starts while GPS-Card is plugged in, nothing happens, only black screen.
hard-reset wont work. nothing helped, only unplug the GPS-Card/Slot helps.
This **** happens every time.
Doenst matter if normal boot, recovery, or just flashing image whith following reboot.
GPS-Card was flashed as FAT32 and then with internal tool. Still same issue.
is this a MCU Bug?
I have latest MTCD KGL 1.92a

My universal was upgraded from tomal (ranju) 7.7 rom to the 8.2 and now im stuck on the boot screen and cannot go to bootloader mode because my power button is broken, so now what? im assuming im screw'd. right?.. anyone?
Also, what is kitl mode? can that help me?
Doh, got it all wrong. Try http://wiki.xda-developers.com/index.php?pagename=Uni_Stuck_Bootloader but I had success just getting the PC recognizing the device and re-flashing the ROM. The bootloader screen appeared at some point during the flash.
Thanks for the reply. The problem is that i cannot connect to activesync because my universal is stuck on the screen where it shows you the rom and radio. I can use my memory stick to load any files via my sd card port on my laptop but i cannot connect my uni to activesync since its stuck on the splash screen. If i need a specific file to boot my uni straight to bootloader boot when the phone boots up via the sd card i can do that. Any suggestions?
-UPDATE- Oh wow once i got back to the reply i saw your correction...lolz. ill try that.. thanks X-D
Ok, try hard resetting or a soft reset first. Well, you probably already tried, but nevertheless... DON'T PANIC!
How broken is your power button?
oh its broken...off the motherboard need to be soldered broken.lolz.. i tried the method you said and it doesnt work =-(.. Is there any file for windows mobile that you can put on the external memory card such as the sd for the uni so that it can force the phone to bootloader as soon as the phone boots?
-Edit: it seems like the only way i can fix this problem is if someone backs up their rom to their memory stick and sends it to me some sort of way so that i can put it on my memory stick and do tomals sd upgrade and hope that it re-updates it.. =-(

The only file you can use is called Enter Bootloader, it comes with a standard ROM upgrade folder, I recommended it at first, but then realized you won't be able to access it from your Uni, seeing you are stuck. There is a ROM upgrade from SD thread somewhere, it can be done, but not if you are stuck, it's for the broken USB ports.
mtty?
Mtty no good because it doesnt pick up the phone via usb
Have you tried the below method on wiki
Method 2
Steps
download the tool
disconnect USB cable from your device
disable USB connection in ActiveSync
reconnect USB cable
wait some 30 seconds
run the tool
If successful, device will boot itself.
Hi,
I was a keen follower of the Cyanogen Nightlys. But after build 38 when my phone was idle for more the 10-20 mins, my phone display went blank and none of the buttons worked. So the only way to fix this was to reset the device by taking out the battery.
So I went back to build build 38 and restored my device with Titanium BackUp. Same thing happened (blank screen, buttons didn't work) after awhile. Then I just put build 38 with no backup, worked for awhile but after I installed an application (Whatsapp) and restored my contacts from Google, after 15 mins the screen went blank again.
So i ended up getting frustrated and decided to wipe everything (including the sd card) and put cyanogen fresh. So I plugged in my Nexus S to the computer and did a normal (FAT 32, default allocation) format. Windows then said sd card was empty but once I unplugged and checked the sd card, everything was still there. Plugged it back to the pc and and everything was still there.
Then I tried using the format storage option in settings--> storage itself, same thing happened, it said it was formatted but nothing changed on the sd card. Even tried formatting using clockwork recovery, same thing.
What makes things worse is that now every time i place something on the sd card, windows says its there, but it disappears once i unplug it. So it seems that the storage doesn't want to change anything on itself. So since the last ROM i put before the format was a fresh update of cyanogen build 38, every time i reboot my phone it runs setup wizard (asks for my google access details). And freezes every so often.
Please help, i have no idea what else to try. I was gonna used odin, but I need to buy/make the cable. So is it really necessary?
EDIT: Every time i install a new rom eg. MIUI, it says it has been installed in recovery, but cyanogen loads when i reset the phone
EDIT: I tried ODIN, it didnt worked, now it just gets stuck on the google screen. I can still enter recovery and the bootloader. But the sd card seems to be corrupt.

What cable? Admittedly, I've not used Odin on the Nexus S, however i've used it plenty on the Galaxy S i had previously, all i ever used was the standard USB cable that came with the phone.
I thought u needed a special cable? I really dont want to use odin cause i hear people bricked there phones using it. I hae the i9020
I don't know that I would have use windows to format the card. I would have done the oem lock and oem unlock to clear the sdcard storage. Doing the oem unlock again totally clears the phone and then you should be starting all over from scratch like day one when you purchased the phone.

I tried " fastboot oem lock" and fastboot oem unlock" but everything stayed the same. And yes i agree, using windows was stupid, I really wasn't thinking properly.
Ok so does the option, setting*storage*erase sd card work?

No it didn't, it says its formatted. But when i check back on the file explorer, everything is there...
Could the problem be that i choose FAT32 as the file system when formatting using windows?

It's working here. Do USB icons show up next to the clock?
Just flashed the same ROM. USB works fine for me.
no USB icon next to clock, tried re-flashing, even ran a super wipe script.
the weirder thing is that with other ROMs everything is working fine, except the 3g on tf101g.
we'll try flashing again.
OK tried re-flashing, re-wiped trough cold boot menu, format each partition seperatly still not working.
does anybody maybe knows which files of the rom are responsible for the 3g working fine.
that way i'll b able to create a hybrid.
thanks for any help guys

Don't wipe with script. Do a normal wipe and install it again.
did it already, with and witout a script.
startong to think that maybe something is wrong with my firmware.
how can i check my device's firmware?>??
it does not show at the About section...
Got it fixed you guys..
so if anyone ever encounter these problems hre the steps i took to sort it out:
Fisrt, symptoms:
1)device isn't being recognized when connectd to a pc
2)device reset it self every few miutes
solution:
reflash recovery bootloader and firmware, i used that zip file:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1552303
then, you will see that the recovery console has changed and that you can't install CM9 Rom.
so what i have done is re-installing the new recovery by Roach
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1213723
then format all partitions and re-installing CM9 everything worked for me after these steps
GoodLuck

Used to get a similar error with one particular SD card, worked flawlessly with a different one (both were FAT32 and the same size), so maybe try another card if you've got one.

will try i have a smaller HDD mini SD can use it, however the PC picks up the SD card no problem. any ideas on my second issue can't re flash stock ROM using ODIN cause usb port not seeing the phone (using cable came in box) but every time i plug it in it goes on a loop reconnect cycle.. could be something simple like a virus manged to get thru avast security and frak up phones OS so only resolve is flash it put stock back on. Is there any software out there that can fix the USB connection issue.
Could try just using a different cable. That is a known problem with odin. I have a one-foot-long micro usb cable that came with an old bluetooth headset. It is now the only one I use for Odin since my oem cable that came with my note 2 does nothing except make odin hang on "SetupConnection..."
tried that

Is there any zip files i can try that won't give me any E/: errors so the file can unpack successfully. Or is it back to shop for replacement handset.
Hi, I've got a A510 that is stucked in unlocked? bootloader.
I was able to do a factory reset using the key combinations but it does not help.
I tried to boot into update.zip but it does not work. SD card is 32 GB with MBR-partitiontable and FAT32 primary partition and update.zip in root.
update.zip is OS_Acer_RV28RC04.PA.CUS1_A40I_A.zip
Booting Version 0.04.04.ICS-MDRR (unlock mode)
Erasing Cache before SD update
SD update cmd: recovery
--update_packate=SDCARD:update.zip
booting recovery kernel image

My guess is, recovery is bad and system is bad.
I cannot get any connection to the device from PC. Once I got ???? when listing fastboot devices, but usually I just don't get any reaction in syslog.
Switching off only works from bootloader. All other options cannot be switched off, have to wait until battery runs out.
any idea?
ps. will fetch a few more cables in case the MicroUSB cable is bad.

Try to force a reboot by holding power and volume down.
Let me know if it doesn't work.
When it is on and cannot be switched off? ok, will try.
