Hi There,
About a week ago, there was an update to the Gear S-Plugin on my phone. I installed this update and all of a sudden when I received a call on my phone, the name would be displayed on my watch. GREAT. I've been wanting this feature. Then I started to notice that my watch was constantly disconnecting/reconnecting to my phone. I've been playing around with settings for the past week trying to get it to work. Today, I bit the bullet and decided to re-install all software. I reset the watch to factory and uninstalled all related software and started from scratch. Not 10 minutes after I finished, my watch disconnected again. It spends more time being disconnected than connected. Am I the only one experiencing this issue? For the past year and a half since I got the watch, it is been working flawlessly. Nothing has changed on my phone other than app updates.
Any thoughts or suggestions as to what to try next would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you,
Jason...

Ok, I have had the Sony SmartWatch 2 for about 6 months now and it has worked great for me until I got a new phone. I upgraded from a Samsung Galaxy S4 to a Galaxy S5. When I did this, I wiped the watch completely and reinstalled all the apps to the phone in which the apps pushed a new firmware to the phone, this was to allow for the 3 watch faces. Once I did that, the watch/phone connection works great, untill...I disconnect the bluetooth connection between the phone/watch for an extended period of time. I am not sure how long extended is but from the time I get home at night until I get ready to go to work the next morning is what I have been doing lately. Once I get up and get ready, I turn bluetooth back on and the phone will not connect to the watch and the Sony SmartConnect app starts to crash. The only way to get this to work again is to wipe the watch and reconnect all over again.
I went through yesterday and uninstalled all the apps, including the SmartConnect and the Smatwatch2 app needed to connect the watch, re-paired the two together and it worked until this morning when it failed again.
Any ideas? I really don't want to have to scrap the watch for something newer.
Thanks.
I went from S3 to S5. I notice that sometimes the watch is unable to reconnect to the phone until I restart Bluetooth on the phone. Also, I am using the previous watch firmware (hacked version allowing overdraw of watch widgets). Maybe you could try this version and see if that works?
Where can I download the firmware you are talking about? I have tried to restart bluetooth on the phone and that doesn't help. Seems like whatever has happened, the fact that Sony SmartConnect is crashing is causing the majority of the problem. Once that crashes, I can't get anything to work.
The most easy is to clear cache on the 2 android app -> SmartConnect and Smartwatch2.
After unpair and clear device on phone, on watch setup reinit watch. All this at one time.
Ok, cleared the cache on both the SmartWatch SW and the Sony SmartConnect apps then I unpaired the watch from the phone. I was able to repair it and get it to connect. I had to re setup my watch faces and my background but it looks like everything else is working.
Now, the big question is later today when I disconnect the watch from the phone and then come back a few hours later to reconnect it, will it reconnect or will it fail and if it fails, I can't see clearing the cache every time as the final solution to fix this.
Any ideas to consider if it fails again?
Thanks.
Use only one watchface perso with widget and 2 other as original in first time.
I noticied that have much problem with my SW2 when I load a lot of personalized face. All face fill the SW2 memory and there are some issue with memory. Before my SW2 rebooted often. Now I try to see with simple face and no more problem since this.
Recent update or something seems to have bricked my ability to connect to my gear. I've reset the gear, uninstalled and reinstalled, all to no avail. Even cleared data on accessory service.
Hangs on connecting to gear? Anyone else having that happen?

I am able to connect to my Note 4, but after the update I stopped receiving notifications. I restored the watch, tried everything in the notification manager and nothing happened. Then I turned offline mode on and off and it started working. But I turned off the watch over night and got the same issue again. Until now nothing made it work. Plus my watchface doesn't recognize the battery on the phone properly, so I guess it must be a connectivity issue. Tried everything on bluetooth and nothing. The watch became useless. I search for a new update every hour on the app but nothing shows up. Hope they solve it quickly.
2 days ago i had an update for my Note 4. Since than my Bluetooth is acting up like every 10 minutes. Either is closes and restarts on his own or simply disconnects. As my only device connected through BT is my S2 watch... i can't be sure its Note's4 fault... but its most likely

Just as the title says I have a Nexus 6P and cannot for the life of me get my new Asus ZenWatch 2 to connect to it. All other Bluetooth devices I can connect to the phone just fine. The watch sees my Nexus player just fine and connects to it. But it will not detect my 6P. I've reset the watch about 10 times now with no luck. It goes thru the normal setup process of pairing and I get the pop-up with the code to pair in my phone, they match up, them it updates then it syncs for 10-30 minutes then no connection at all. If I go into Bluetooth settings on my phone it sees the ZenWatch 2 60B5 as a paired device but when I click on it... Nothing.... Doesn't do anything at all, anything else I click on in that menu and it immediately says "connecting" but not the watch.
I've uninstalled and reinstalled Android wear and the Zen watch apps, and factory reset the watch like I said at least 10 times now.
Put in a ticket with Asus and followed all their instructions on clearing data/cache on Google play services, Andis wear, Google play store and another app I believe too. Still no luck.
I know the Nexus 6P has a crap Bluetooth system in it, but has anyone else had this problem with the ZenWatch? I had a cheap$20 Pebble watch that connected immediately and never dropped connection ... But the more expensive, more high tech, ZenWatch won't even connect.
Has anyone else had this issue? Shoulda I just return the watch and call it a fault of the phones Bluetooth? Or do an RMA repair on the watch? It has 90 days.
Oh and I dug out my old LG G3.... Watch found it and connected to it immediately. But hell that's what..3 years old now. The 6P is only a year old.
Finally got it connected. Now syncing for 20 minutes fingers crossed.

how did you do it
i went to settings on phone and forgot the watch.
then uninstalled android wear from phone
factory reset watch
at the very first screen, language selection, after the watch starts leave it there, install android wear on the phone and run it. it should be able to detect the watch at that time and link them
Folks hopefully someone can help me with this problem.
I have the gear S3 Frontier and its been perfect since launch but since the last update R760XXU2BQC5 my Bluetooth seems to have gone a little wonky.
My phone is Samsung s7 Edge but since this update my gear refuses to reconnect to the phone at any stage automatically. I can manually reconnect it no problem but this is basically making my gear unusable. Once I leave Bluetooth range the watch goes into stand alone mode and will never come out of it. I've to search again via Bluetooth on my phone to reconnect.
I've tried resetting the gear deleting the gear app on my phone and I cannot get it to work.
Any help greatly appreciated
I had the same problem on my Note 4. I had to reset the watch, then on your phone, go to settings, application manager and look for gear. You'll see that there are 2 entries on the list, named "gear s plug in" and "samsung gear". You need to clear all the data from both of these. Now delete the samsung gear app, reinstall it and this should fix your issue. This was trial and error to begin with, but if you follow these exact steps you should be fine.
Legend mate cheers I deleted one but never noticed the second one
Nice one, did that fix it?
Did for me as I had the exact same problem (thanks Google)
I just recently got an iPhone 8+ ( )after being an Android owner for years and initially had no problems with it and my watch. After the IOS 12 update, my phone was having a problem with the battery draining, so I did a complete wipe and reset of it last night. The watch worked fine on 12 before the reset. This morning I tried to install an app and a few watch faces and the Samsung app will not let me. When I hit "install", I get a message on the app saying to "check gear". On the watch, it is asking to connect to a wifi network. I have it set to auto, which is how it has always been. I tried setting it to on all the time, and verified it was connected, but I get the same message when trying to install apps. I tried removing and reinstalling the app, but that made no difference. I really do not want to reset the watch due to the fact that there is no apparent way to backup my watch faces, and I have about 20 of them!
Has anybody else ran into a problem like this?
Never mind! I figured it out. Was just a dumb error om my part!!
