Hello all, first off I must apologise as I am not sure if this is the right place to be posting this or not, if it is not the right place I will move it off to the correct place as soon as possible, anyways on to the issues im having, I recently restored my TA partition and with it my bootloader, I didn't realise this would break the rom I was running on it beforehand, but not to worry, flashtool can fix that, in a sudden rush of crap to the brain though I did not for a moment think that they'd have changed how flashtool was done in regards to FTF files and as a result im a bit stuck at the moment, downloading with xperifirm works fine and what have you but creating the FTF via the flashtool bundler part doesn't work, it will just stop responding the moment I click create, I am not sure why this is and I am running the latest version with no luck, if anyone can help me out of this even if only a little I will be very grateful, many thanks in advance for taking the time to read this in any case.
Most likely you have an old version of flashtool. Install 0.9.23.1 and then replace the x10flasher.jar with the one provided at the bottom of the page : http://www.flashtool.net/downloads_windows.php
Hopefully that will solve the issue.

I tried to reflash stock on it with Flashtool but it get stuck at 0%.
Any ideas to fix it? Thanks !

You sure you followed EVERY step of the Cyanogenmod installation instructions exactly?
Forgetting even one step, or doing it work, can cause these boot issues.
For stock firmware, please post the log of the flashtool here, so we can figure out what's wrong.
On first thought it sounds like you haven't got a valid loader.sin though. You can download a good one somewhere here on the forums but at the moment I'm too lazy to search it for you. If you find it you should replace the loader.sin in the FTF file, or replace it after the files been loaded for flashing (before you connect your phone), in that case they are in the %Your_flashtool_folder_here%/firmwares/prepared folder.
If you can't figure it out, post the log, like I said. Then we'll help you further.

That's right, I am, but forum language is supposed to be English
I believe it's in the rules of XDA.
Well, I'm glad you got it to work, if you have any more issues, I will be happy to answer them, and if I can't, someone else here probably will
Phone wont turn on

Bro, can you help me ? I am in the same situation as him but i cant completely figured it out ? Would really love if you can help me
Alright, I admit, I have had smarter moves. I wanted to clean my phone a Sony Xperia S, remove everything, so it would be smooth again (lately it is just sooooo slow.) So I thought, whipe everything, clean install, voila.
Howeverrrr, I have been so smart to whipe my OS, and my SD card, so I can't install a new ROM, and my PC doesn't ofcourse recognize my phone, so I can't get a new ROM on it.
Any idea how to fix this?
Hi there,
I see you've already posted in the Xperia S Q&A section, that's the right place to ask and to wait for a response.
In the mean time, check this thread here: [GUIDE] Recover 2012 and newer XPERIAs from SOFT-brick
It may be of use, I had an Xperia T and using the flashmode/flashtool function should always save the device even when it doesn't boot and there is no OS
Hi,
Thanks for your answer, I'll take look there.
Sorry, I posted here too because it is well, kinda urgent since I really need my phone, and I have no idea how many active members have a Sony Xperia S, so for a quick answer I also came here.
EDIT: Well, the problem is, my PC doesn't recognize my phone, and Flashtool doesn't recognize it too...

Be sure to make sure you have drivers installed, I'd suggest checking here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2635830
Otherwise I'd wait and be checking the question in the Xperia S section. We're here just to send you in the right direction.

Hi! Alright, I got it all back working, thanks to you.
I used Flashtool 9.18, but that one kept crying about drivers.
So I downloaded flashtool 0.9.9.0 or something, and the firmware, and now my phone is booting again!
Could've thought of using Flashtool myself, but you sent me in the right direction! ^^ Thanks for your help!
Thank you and thread closed!
As topic says
to be honest, it's getting harder to find ftf uploads, as the tendancy now is to direct you to to xperifirm using flashtool to get it on your phone - hope someone comes through for you (I have a pre-rooted . 77 german version which ironically was sourced in these threads.....)
Xperifirm gives you the choice to download any customization/region you want and flashtool can bundle it for flashing. Its truly a wonderful combination. Flash whatever you want.

Flashtool is super easy just follow what it says and should have no issue

A way to upgrade to a later version of android where this big may be fixed. I really need the hotspot to work as its my life line. I'd like to keep it stock for now if possible too. Thanks Guys

(I think you meant "in dire need of help" unless you're specifically looking for low quality answers )
Downgrade using xperifirm to get the rom, and flashtool to install it, using this guide (note: you'll have to choose a different rom to the one mentioned in that guide):
http://www.xperiablog.net/2015/03/1...peria-lollipop-using-xperifirm-and-flashtool/
OK that's great. What is xperifirm in regards to.the importance of getting the room. I have downloaded 4.4.4 from.another source before I started this thread. Will I not be able to.use thaT? What I mean is is it significant to the process??

No, nothing special about xperifirm; It's just the only place i've ever got a rom from so i know it's legit. as long as flashtool likes your 4.4.4 it should be fine.
So I've coklme across a new problem. When installing the flash program I tried the windows key and r and typed in the stuff needed but I'm not getting what it says on the instructions. Therefor unable to install allbthe drivers. Running Windows 8.1.
I'm lost nnow. Could it be zipped with the drivers pre installed?

Probably need to put a little more detail about what you expect to happen and what's actually happening. (I used windows 7 and it installed without problem, but I think I read that windows 8 required a little more love to get the drivers installed. )

First off it wouldn't download and install all the drivers. So I installed the Sony companion and then when I went to flash the tft file it said unable to extract.ini or such. May just be a bad roM. I'm not at the computer now but I'll try again tomorrow

You have installed the wrong program, Install flashtool from flashtool.net and flash the FTF (not tft) using that
The sony flashtool only works on unlocked bootloader phones, but the original developed here on XDA is far better and works on locked bootloaders as well.
It was an ftf file it just blooming autocorrected. Right I'm going to try again and I'll take shots too
Hi All,
Firstly let me apologise if this is a stupid question but I can't find the files I need for the DRM fix on my Z3 D6603 (UK, network unlocked)
I have unlocked the bootloader and installed this ROM : D6603_23.1.A.0.726_R5C_Customized UK PreRooted and I have a backup of the previous stock rom and TA partition.
First question, does this already include the DRM fix? I suspect not because my camera quality is ****e, however the xreality display stuff is there. (I can't tell if it works or not to be honest, all looks the same to me so maybe not)
Assuming the fix is not included I need to do this here : http://forum.xda-developers.com/crossdevice-dev/sony/xperia-z1-z2-z3-series-devices-drm-t2930672 to get my functionallity back.
These are the steps I am struggling with :
- Windows 7/8 and Flashtool http://www.flashtool.net/downloads.php (I have managed this one, no problem )
- .77 (KitKat) Firmware, download it with Flashtool software. I use 23.0.1.A.5.77 Branding 3_SE
- .690 Firmware, download it with Flashtool software. I use 23.0.1.A.0.690 Branding Telenor_SE
I can't work out how I am supposed to use flashtool to get these ttf files, an explanation of how that works would be greatly appreciated. I have looked at guides but they all seem to assume you already have the ttf. I have tried to find the correct ttf using google without success.
I am sure if I can get the correct ttf files I can sort it out from there on my own so I would really appreciate it if one of you more knowledgeable guys could help me out and ideally link me to the ttf I need or explaion how to do that from within flashtool.
I am really sorry if this has been covered before but I have been unable to find an answer after an hour trawling this marvelous site.
Thanks very much in advance
edit : Is this what I need? is the ttf included in that rom bundle?
https://mega.co.nz/#F!5JRBgDaY!o5gqM8qVj6zkvMzFP9bvsA/
Or better yet, is there a ROM I can flash which includes this fix?
You can use Xperifirm to download the firmware and flash tool to bundle the files into a ftf
