Someone mentioned calling hulu support and they need to change the stream format. Does that affect your other devices as well and how is the quality?
Thanks in advance

Hi All,
can someone please help me out with the settings for Handbrake to convert MKV to Mv4 and what the settings i have to be on to have smooth rolling video and sound. I am always getting in some kind of a mess with doing this. So far i have converted it twice and the video always has a lag. It does not sync up to the audio. Not sure if someone can post up the settings that they use for best results on the Gtab.
thanks again..

What ROM are you using? That might be your problem and not an encoding issue. I know the Froyo's are good for video but I havent heard of any Gingerbread's with a good video play back.

or mobile converter??
Those are all great ideas and im not sure why nobody has seemed to try to make an app for recording in mp4..
Our phones DO record in .MP4 format already. 3GP is just a file container. If you would really like to change the format from .3gp to .MP4 you can most likely do it with perm-root/ S Off and / or possibly with another camera app.
Don't get too worked up though because you are already recording in .MP4.
Hope this helps DAWGS.
So what are the chances of us getting support for AVI and MKV containers? Also I think we need some DivX and xvid support.
We have h264 support yet not xvid. We have mp4 yet not avi?
So do you think MS will ever add support or will it have to be 3rd party. Will it even be possible for us to get support for the above mentioned containers and codec's?
Thanks
i dont think ms will ever add support for these codecs and file extensions the only way is if somebody makes a homebrew app cuz i dont think that ms would approve of such app in the marketplace
Sent from my OMNIA7 using XDA Windows Phone 7 App
Yea, I was thinking the same. Is there anything preventing someone from making a homebrew to provide us with support for the codec's and file containers? Or can I still hope that someone will make such an application?
Quick question: What types of video files will this actually stream? I know that MKV will never work, but I had assumed that MP4 would. I am guessing that there is also a codec requirement, and not just a container one, but am not really an expert at DNLA so some help would be appreciated.
I know, I should just buy Serviio Pro, and I will, if I can't get this to work...
Will someone kindly tell me-
1. When to turn deinterlace on or off? I tried to understand it by checking it up on web but I still have no idea about deinterlace.
2. My videos are playing fine. Should I download custom codec?
I apologise if this isn't the right place to ask this question.
1. Deinterlacer turns interlaced image into normal one:

You need to use deinterlacing only if you're seeing interlacing (all frames have such lines). Deinterlacing of normal videos will hurt performance.
Unless you're trying to watch remuxes (DVD (VOB), BD (BDMV), TV recordings (TS, MTS)) you'll probably never ever will run into interlaced videos, so it safe to forget about deinterlacing
2. AFAIK "Custom codec" is exactly the same as the one shipped with player - but compiled with DTS/AC3 support. You'll need it only if you want to watch videos that use that audio codec (otherwise you'll have no sound).
Thanks for your reply. Your answer is pretty helpful.
