Changing brightness with Youtube full screen - Honor 8 Questions & Answers

Hello!
I'm having a funny glitch when I watch videos on Youtube in full screen.
When I start the application it looks good. When I start playing videos on normal screen it looks good but when I put full screen, within a few seconds the brightness changes to a slightly pinkish tonality. When I leave the full screen, that tone remains. If I go out and enter again it looks good until I put full screen.
Will it be a problem with EMUI 5.0?
I have not set the auto brightness.

I have the same issue and I only noticed it started since updating to 7.0 B380.
EDIT: Started on b360 and still present on b380

Does anyone agree that sony still hasn't rolled out the "fixed" nougat?

I'm on Xperia Z5 (E6653, Vodafone UK) haven't still got Nougat, I know it takes some time for it to arrive to carrier based devices but the problem is that this new 32.3.A.0.376 Has only rolled out to regions that received Nougat before. XperiFirm shows that only 4 regions; Australia, Philippines, Russia and Thailand have got the update. the same regions were also the first regions who got the first Nougat build, Judging by a little number jump on the build number (3 to 6), I'm thinking this is a little update to fix some little bugs, not major stuff. I think the major update is yet to come with big fixes. What do you guys think?

You have NOT nougat. (376)
You did not experience nougat. (376)
Why did you ask this question?
What do you expect from Nougat?
It has nougat features, but nothing special.

Look I might not have Nougat but I've seen it on a friends Z5 in which he flashed it, it's good but he says it got bugs. your third question I won't answer because It's already answered on the first post. and all I want from Nougat is a bug-free and smooth running update, although Xperia X lockscreen and manual camera controls would be nice which they didn't include.
You have a good point and I was thinking along the same lines, but I wouldn't be surprised if this is the fixed Nougat and it is just that buggy.
The update rolled out near the end of the week and they don't seem to roll out updates on weekends often. If I recall RU was also one of the first to get Marshmallow and places like Taiwan only got it a week later. 6.1 took even longer for some places...
EDIT: Also, TH did not get Nougat before. They got the small .11 update in the weeks after Nougat was pulled back.

Let's just hope it gets to UK fast, or I'm gonna flash the AU firmware.
I have audio playback issue, Music and third-party apps' sound won't play together and there's lag in call log, though photo analyzer is fast now.
Anyone with the same issues or a fix?
Well I do think they're taking too long this time around.... The weekend is over and still no Z5 updates. They did roll out the update on the Z4 tablet yesterday but that was it...
I am in Middle East, Iran , got lastest update android N via flash tools ( also I got it OTA)
But It is a total shame!
Battery drains so fast , apps get crashed some times , and you can't believe it is your SONY Z5!
I had real bad experience with Nougat, so decided to roll back to 6.0.1 , much better.
Waiting for an update from SONY to get best features.

It's worth upgrading for me. Super smooth, no battery drain, pleasing battery icon, no more sim tag in status bar is awesome. Call log UI is great, finger print sensor is blazing fast. Not obsessed with X locksreen anyway. Camera swipe to change camera is great.
Disappointing is that we don't have Vulkan, I don't know why.
I have this issue : when placing a call with speaker on, the mic doesn't work. Could you guys try and tell me?

Which version are you on? 376 or 372? I'm on 372 still haven't updated to 376 and I can say the volume bug is the worst bug I've ever encountered, I can't hear my ringtone. There's also this bug in which contacts and phone apps' accent colors don't change.
I had to rollback to mm, actually using romx because Nougat has a terrible thermal management and battery give me about 2 SOT

I'd hate to disagree on that. Nougat has better thermal management than on MM. But I guess it varies from person to person.

What variant are you using? I tried Au and phi, I got about 2 sot, on mm used to get 4 hours.
Someone told to try the Russian variant
I updated to 376 and I can say that the battery life is much much better, fingerprint is very fast sometimes I just press the power button and it unlocks, volume bug is fixed and thermal management is great; there's no annoying heat. And the reason there's no Vulkan is that the drivers for it hasn't been released for 810.

Your accent bug is fixed on phone and contacts? Here check this screenshot, I'm running a dark gray accent theme but the phone app shows a blue accent, other apps like messaging and settings work fine. Just phone and contacts.

Low power saving mode

Hey guys,
Am new to the Honor 8, when i bought the device on 17-07-2017, it was running MM but the same day received update to Nougat.
The phone is just awesome in terms of performance and camera, but, yeah, but, the battery. I battery is draining pretty fast overnight even when I have kept the mobile data, WIFI and GPS off.
So if you guys can suggest me some tips to save the drain that would be great.
I also saw a mode under the battery settings which stated as Low resolution power saving, which should reduce the screen resolution to save power.
But I didnt notice any difference visually , also to be sure I checked the resolution using CPU-Z which confirmed that it is 1080 x 1920
Is it a bug? or am I missing something?
Sorry if there is an existing thread for the same.
Try this guide https://forum.xda-developers.com/honor-8/how-to/guide-battery-life-nougat-t3623980
Just be sure you don't use power saving modr, it's totally useless
Always backup and factory reset the device first. That usually fixes most software issues with this device, including battery drain.
As for the screen resolution, the app only reads the native resolution of the screen, not the software based down sampling.
And yes, power saving mode does work, but it does so by turning off auto sync. Not my preference but it does work. If yours isn't working, see my first sentence.

Is b340 indian version?
In fact after I received the B340 OTA update, my overnight power drain problem disappeared almost completely, where I used to see a 10/12% drain overnight (between mid-night and 8 AM with phone in airplane mode for that duration) now I see a drain between 1 to 2% only.

B389 OTAs

It seems that android OS is constantly on, like the phone never goes idle. Neither Doze, nor sleep. How can I fix that? I have already performed a factory reset. So maybe I have to wipe cache too.

Android system always consumes 15-20% of battery. Also I see there is activity during night, which is kinda strange given that it isn't being used. Battery decreased 11% during night even though it was supposed to go into Doze mode.
Also I performed one more factory reset just in case but it didn't have any impact.
Rommco05 said:
Yes something is wrong. First think, you have poor mobile signal. WiFi is still on during the night? Facebook app take lot of battery, try uninstall FB and use Chrome for example. You also using Messenger? If you I suggest use Messenger lite

Nah, 7% for Facebook and less for messenger is not the problem. My problem apparently is that the device never goes into Doze or even sleep mode, and Android system never goes idle. I really don't know why is that happening.

1.24.400.2 update received, UK

Hi, just as an update/ fyi, I got the 1.24.400.2 update this morning in the UK.

Does anyone know what improvements this will bring? Is it the HDR10 update?
As usual, it only said 'software improvements'

Me too, I think this is not the HDR update
But is not taiwanese version , this update is for Hong kong version.
Is there anywhere we can find out what improvements/ fixes are included with this update?
I did a quick Google search and nothing relevant came up
can you please check what is the google play services version? it might have updated that (as far as I see the EU version uses the Nougat play services)
I think if it was the hdr10 update, they'd list it
Yes got the update as well. Too soon to notice any significant changes but did notice the always on display backlight starts in the bottom middle rather than is lit up from the bottom right hand side, so the display looks a bit more symmetrical in very dark environments.
Mhhh.. Nothing here. (The Netherlands)

The U11+ shipped with oreo. This update is just "system enhancements".
Things I noticed:
The bottom nav bar is now white when not hidden in an app.
The brightness behavior is now changed. Inused to leave it on "auto half" and now I need it lower.
Screen capture and edit tool now works very smoothly.
Sent from my HTC U11 plus using Tapatalk
ok it sounds like to me they did an update to the tw version just before Christmas which was 1.23, then the same update got applied to the HK model but have named it 1.24, and i imagine they will do the same to the EU model shortly and call it 1.25 (or something like that)
I have the white navbar since I got the u11plus, EU version. October patch.

That doesn't mean you can't get into troubles after the upgrade. In fact, my phone received EMUI 11 yesterday, without doing any tricks to get it, and now I have a problem, the upgrade enabled VoLTE by default and the option to disable it is not longer available on the settings...

For one terrible discovery: when using gesture navigation, you can now have one-handed mode only with emui launcher.
With Emui 10 you had to swipe diagonally from one bottom corner of the screen. With Emui 11 you instead have to swipe horizontally on the bottom edge of the screen and keep pressed, but this gesture only works with stock launcher.
Stupid
I didn't really notice any other true change, so this update for me was worse than worthless, is it possible to downgrade?

I didn't, but in the last few weeks I've been using my phone as a wireless hotspot so it's either plugged in for charging or fastly discharging due to high 4G traffic
Btw, thanks for the tip about downgrading. I'm not very keen to reinstalling and reconfiguring everything, so I'll see how much this missing feature bugs me before going down that road
