I'm not sure what exactly happened but I've been pairing with my old Nexus through bluetooth for a while now with no problems, and suddenly I stopped being able to connect to it or any other device. I can turn on bluetooth, see devices, and even pair but when I press on a device name to connect it says "connected" for about half a second and then disconnects immediately. Thought it was the Nexus but I am unable to connect to any other devices.
I tried rebooting, un-pair and re-pair, clearing bluetooth cache/data, clearing dalvik, but nothing.
The weird thing is that this actually happened a while back, and when I turned off developer mode it started working again. But now that's not doing anything.
I saw that there are a few old threads about others with bluetooth problems. Has there been a fix for this?
I'm running RR on 6.0.1.
Thanks in advance!
I'm writing a cordova app that was starting bluetooth just fine until, without any known change, it suddenly just hangs and my gui just sits there like duh forever. note 4 android 6 cant root it so ive got the bloat and the upgrade cycle slooowdown

Hi guys.
I'm using a stock non-rooted Sensation on ICS. For the past couple of months or so, the bluetooth part of the phone has been crashing - even when I'm not using bt to connect to anything.
Even if I turn off the phone (and remove the battery) and reboot the phone, bluetooth SOMETIMES loads and sometimes doesn't. It'll take maybe 3-4 reboots before the icon reappears at the top and even then, it crashes after a few minutes.
Is there anyway of force-starting or restarting bluetooth rather than rebooting the phone, or maybe 'resetting' bluetooth so I can re-pair all my devices?
Thanks
Steve
Hi all,
I'm growing increasingly frustrated with this watch because of connection issues.
When I received this watch in January, I was able to set it up no problem. Everything worked great. I just had two issues-
1. The Bluetooth car system would no longer work because the phone would use the watch as the default headset.
2. Google duo would go bonkers when I was getting a call if the watch was connected.
Both of these issues were solved with a solution found here in the forums-by unchecking the option to use the watch for phone connection.
I noticed immediately after doing that that the connection became unstable. I would disconnect randomly then reconnect. As the weeks went on the disconnections became more frequent i.e. Every 2-3 minutes. Then the watch wouldn't connect anymore. Once the watch wouldn't connect anymore neither would my car. Nothing related to Bluetooth would work on my phone. My Tiles wouldn't connect anymore either.
So I went through and deleted all data and cache related to the three Samsung apps and uninstalled the apps. I deleted all Bluetooth connections. Then reinstalled the apps and connected the watch. Within an hour I was still in the same situation. (With no other things connected to Bluetooth.)
I figured out that if I restart my phone everything works again for about 20-30 minutes.
I'm at the point where I don't feel like it is worth keeping anymore. I can't have anything else connected to Bluetooth and I have to restart the phone so often that it just doesn't make sense.
After reading through the forums here it doesn't sound like this is a common problem. Is there something I am missing? Is the watch defective? Any suggestions is greatly appreciated.
Thank you.
You could well find the issue is with your phone and not the watch. I initially used my S3 with a Samsung phone that went bust. I went back to my Nexus 5 and found I had some issues and one app had disappeared from the app store. I contacted the app firm who told me that they were aware of it but it was Samsung that was blocking the app. On going back to a Samsung phone the app was available again and works fine. Can you check your S3 with a different phone?
I also have a S3 and a 6P. Disconnect the S3 Bluetooth from your phone Bluetooth settings and it should connect to your car. You should still see the "Gear S Plugin" notification if you swipe down on the the phone. You should still receive notifications on your phone but the Bluetooth will connect to your car. Connect the S3 to your phones Bluetooth again if you want to answer calls via your watch. Hope this helps.
I have the Mate 9 and the Frontier... when i enter my truck i just press airplan mode on the watch turning off all connection. bluetooth from phone to truck connects 1-2-3....
Clarification
Hi all,
Thanks for the responses. Probably because of my long rambling post there is a little misunderstanding of where I'm at now.
Right now my problem is that my phone can't stay connected to my watch. I have nothing else connected via Bluetooth to my phone. Once it can't connect anymore, I have to restart my phone in order for it to connect again. And then it only stay connected for a couple of minutes before disconnecting.
It is like the Bluetooth gets locked up on my phone by the Samsung gear apps.
Maybe it's my phone. Maybe time to get a Pixel.
Any suggestions are greatly appreciated.
Try this. I do it when I lose notifications. Go to Bluetooth on your phone. "forget your watch" it will disconnect. Reboot phone. Then re pair watch and phone after reboot using your phone and the watch (not the gear app). That usually fixes most problems for me.

A few months ago (I forgot exactly when), I updated to the latest available herolte LineageOS build for my (rooted) S7.
As I use a Samsung Gear S2 Classic smartwatch, I went about updating build.prop to make the Galaxy Wear app work on my phone (the app works out of the box on everything except flashed Samsung phones, which is circumvented by replacing 'samsung' with 'htc' in build.prop). However, my watch would not connect anymore, despite resetting my watch, reinstalling the app, etc etc. It simply did not show up on the menu. Then I noticed that I was also unable to connect to my bluetooth speaker as well, despite it being on and working perfectly fine as before with my laptop. Scanning for bluetooth devices simply shows nothing. The smartwatch would show up for very short periods of time and then disappear again, the bluetooth speaker is still listed as 'paired' but attempting to connect to it does nothing.
So, my Bluetooth is broken after this update and I have no idea how to begin fixing this. I have not attempted reflashing my phone yet. Does anyone have any solutions or suggestions for troubleshooting?
It seems the newest update has broken my bluetooth. There is now a device that my phone tries to connect to that doesn't exist. I've cleared all devices from my paired list and it still gives errors trying to connect to a bluetooth address. I can't connect to anything either once it fails to connect to whatever bluetooth device it is trying to pair to. I've tried clearing bluetooth cache and have also reinstalled the update but issue persists. Is there a way for me to delete whatever file stores bluetooth pairings? I am rooted as well.
I figured out the bluetooth device it was trying to connect to so finally got my phone to stop trying to constantly connect to it.
It was working marginally well. A couple of days ago it started not connecting for several minutes. Then yesterday it stopped working all together.
Dongle green light flashing, phone shows connected via BT and wireless.
I tried clearing the cache on both Android Auto and AAwirless and that doesn't work.
Direct connect pone to USB Android Auto works.
Where do I go from here?
Maybe someone can tell me where I can get some help to see if I can get the AAwireless dongle to work again.
