Hi, would it be possible to return my phone to the previous firmware?
Its currently running build number 39.2.A.0.442 and i would like to go back to 39.2.A.0.417 as a couple of my apps no longer function properly with the latest update.
the phone is not rooted and is running android 7.0.
thanks
Jon
First, you can try factory reset and clean install. Otherwise, you can use flashtool to flash your phone back to previous version.

Trying to update after rooting the device and this is what you are met with. I remember with older devices you could still update even though it broke root, and you would have to reroot. Which what I was hoping to do. Apparently they have figured out how to block you now. Especially since I can never get Kies to work right.
Only way I found to bring otas back is to uninstall supersu, odin flash stock Rom, and try again
Dude download xposed module and download Wanamaker kit to trick the system thinking it's still official. I tried this with and twrp couldn't install the latest version. If you are still on stock recovery good for you

Hi. I'm using a T-Mobile LG-G2 with firmware version D80120g. I used AutoRec to install TWRP, but now I'd like to go back to stock everything so that I can get the OTA upgrade to Lollipop. I was planning on using this method, but upon trying to use download mode, it tries to update the firmware, but hangs at 0 percent, while saying ROOTED in red letters at the bottom.
Is there a way to either a.) Go back to stock without use of download mode, or b.) Fix this "ROOTED" message so that it can update the firmware normally and enter download mode properly? Any help is appreciated.
EDIT: Here is a picture of the error on download mode that I'm talking about.
Have you tried the LG Mobile Support tool to update to the latest OTA?

Thought about it, but I wasn't sure if doing that would give problems since I'm rooted and using TWRP. I've heard of OTA updates bricking it if you're rooted, but I didn't know if using the Support Tool would do so as well. Will it cause problems to do so? Thanks.
I had no issue updating a rooted and a unrooted phone from 30a and 20g respectively. I'm not sure if anyone has had the issues your concerned about. But in my limited use of it, I'm running both phones fine and loss no data, just straight upgrade with the tool
When I have the stock ROM installed, my phone stops detecting my SIM card after a while. It does not happen on custom ROMs. I have tried new SIMs, taking it out and putting it back in, and multiple reboots. The only thing that solves it as far as I'm aware is factory resetting. Does anyone have another solution? As well, does anyone have a flashable radio/modem/baseband for the 6045l (preferably stock 6.0)? I'd like to try that.
How you know that it works now also on the custom ROMs? When you are aware of making factory reset?
I think factory reset is always a first step when in trouble.
And you cannot use radio/modem/baseband/ from 6.0 on your 5.0.2 (i think, because you cannot use 5.0.2 r/b/m on 6.0).

Hmm I know when on 6.0 I can use either the 6.0 or the 5.0.2 radio but haven't tried it in reverse...the general assumption would be that it would work.

The marshmallow thread in android development has a link to a folder I created with some flashable radio zips including both 6045i ones however if you are on t-mobile then using the 6.0 one is just going to lose you features...specifically it loses band 12 LTE if you happen to use that band.

After that I tried to go back to Panasonic firmware only with a different pc, This time it did work and I got signal but that is on the panasonic firmware is there a way for me to get Signal back on stock?
Hello so i have Galaxy S6 that does not have original firmware... surprise surprise..but i have been wondering about something.
Lets say that Samsung makes official android 8.0 oreo for galaxy s6. So how do i upgrade to it because i have custom rom called frankenstein os
...but i also have a twrp made backup of official samsung firmware that i can restore but the reason that i am not using that firmware is that its
really laggy bcs of something, i rooted the phone barely unbricked it and the official firmware is almost unusable to me...ah and yea i don't know
is it going to be able to install the update(android 8 if it comes) without the stock recovery that i also have. I am afraid of flashing stock recovery back because i had that "brick" problem where i could not flash anything through odin not even twrp. And is it possible to flash stock samsung firmware when it comes out from twrp? Like i download it from sammobile and can i just flash it through twrp? And can i flash now android 7.0 (official) from sammobile with twrp bcs odin does not work to me for some reason.
Thanks for your time
Short answer? No.
Lomg answer? You'd have to flash the firmware using Odin. Or wait a bit after it's released as someone should be able to make a flashable version of it (or even better - a flashable debloated deodexed version of it). That all is off course IF it gets released for the S6, which is unlikely, at best.
Best hope is it gets released for a phone that's similar enough to be able to port it, such as the A8 2016 - that's what people are hoping for, currently.

Also, you seem to face an error I had. When you flash a firmware using Odin, make sure to go into recovery and clear cache, as well as Dalvik, and then try to start it up.
Anyone been able to revert to Android 10 from the developer preview without unlocking and using factory images? OTA back to Feb not working for me. Am I screwed into using it untill March OTA comes out since it will be newer? Any help would be appreciated

I just put my 3 XL back to stock before selling it. I like my little 3a so I'm keeping this one.
I had to unlock -> flash factory firmware -> relock. Data is wiped definitely. You cannot downgrade with an OTA it will absolutely need reflashed and wiped with a factory image.

I'm not surprised that you can't go back to the Feb OTA update and this means that the March OTA update isn't going to work either.
The "issue" is the fact that you have changed major Android versions - from Android 10 to Android 11. You can generally move to a higher version using an OTA update, but you can't downgrade or move back to a lower version without flashing a factory image. Even if the image is pushed out via an OTA update (like would happen if you revert to stock from a beta release), the phone still has to go through a factory reset to ensure everything is downgraded to the lower version. This is something that the regular monthly OTA updates aren't set up to do.
Long story short, you have two options - one is to go ahead an unlock the bootloader and flash the Android 10 factory image. The second is to wait until the Android 11 beta program starts, enroll in it and install the Android 11 beta, and then opt out of the program and be reverted to Android 10. To be honest however, I'm not 100% this will work because I really don't know if you can move from the Android 11 Developer version to the Android 11 beta version via an OTA update. In either case, you are going to experience a factory reset and loose all of your data and information, so plan ahead and backup anything you want to keep.
Solved. Unlocked bootloader, flashed factory Feb. Relocked. All set. Had issues work some apps and Android pay. All expected.
