[6045l] My phone stops detecting the SIM card on the stock ROM - Onetouch Idol 3 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

When I have the stock ROM installed, my phone stops detecting my SIM card after a while. It does not happen on custom ROMs. I have tried new SIMs, taking it out and putting it back in, and multiple reboots. The only thing that solves it as far as I'm aware is factory resetting. Does anyone have another solution? As well, does anyone have a flashable radio/modem/baseband for the 6045l (preferably stock 6.0)? I'd like to try that.

How you know that it works now also on the custom ROMs? When you are aware of making factory reset?
I think factory reset is always a first step when in trouble.
And you cannot use radio/modem/baseband/ from 6.0 on your 5.0.2 (i think, because you cannot use 5.0.2 r/b/m on 6.0).

Hmm I know when on 6.0 I can use either the 6.0 or the 5.0.2 radio but haven't tried it in reverse...the general assumption would be that it would work.

The marshmallow thread in android development has a link to a folder I created with some flashable radio zips including both 6045i ones however if you are on t-mobile then using the 6.0 one is just going to lose you features...specifically it loses band 12 LTE if you happen to use that band.

[Q] current d2lte ROM recommendations?

I followed the CM path through CM 11 on my S3 d2lte, then ran into problems with GPS after a nightly and couldn't resolve the issue. I moved to AICP and loved the ROM, but had more problems there, and now I'm seeing random reboots, plus the ROM seems to have been abandoned, possibly in favor of developing for Android 5.0.
I know this is not a "new" device, and it's been nice overall for almost two years, but I'm wondering if there's a ROM that might help me enjoy and get the most out of the time I have left with it, without constantly fighting with problems. Also, any stable experience with 5.0 builds?

I've tried more than one build on 5.0 myself and the same issue I had with each one, random reboots and issues with calling. I've been told to update to the NE1 modem but I won't go any higher than ML1.
I've ran nearly every rom out there, I've even went with the stable CM official versions and while they ran fine for a good two weeks or so after that the random reboots started happening again, the latest one I'm on is BlissStalk and so far after about almost 2 weeks I've had not one random reboot (knock on wood) and hoping it stays that way. I could suggest an older 4.3 rom which I never seemed to have an reboots on no matter how long I ran the rom. The choice is truly yours in the end

Thanks, ShapesBlue. May try this, esp. if there aren't any other suggestions. BTW, the latest Chrome on Windows doesn't seem to like the Bliss downloads:
Bliss_gapps.4.4.4.zip is malicious, and Chrome has blocked it. (same for the d2lte ROM zip).
Explanation links to this help page.
That's kind of messed up. Wonder what the problem is inside those zip files.

Try downloading it directly to your phone and adding it to the external SD, Windows tends to block .zip files so there is no surprise there

For Masta's builds you have to update to the latest modem for it to function properly. As for a good stable 4.4.4 rom, I really enjoy dirty unicorn last build. It comes with its on custom kernal & I've never had any issues. I would give it a test & let me know what you think

I flashed DU 4.4.4 7.8 unofficial (latest) last night using TWRP 2.6.3.1, followed instructions, after wiping everything but internal & external SD storage. Since then, no mobile signal, and "no service"/"emergency calls only"; Google Play thinks the phone has "no carrier".
BTW, after the install, also tried to update to latest TWRP (2.8.3.0) following their instructions to make sure that recovery wasn't a problem, but GooManager is full of "can't find recovery for your device"/"404"/"not found" errors. I had to download a separate app to re-flash the new recovery
image file. Anyway, I re-flashed with updated TWRP, still no signal.

Yea goo manager stopped being supported awhile back. They moved onto JRummys version of the same thing. I was going to say you'd have to be on the latest version of twrp but you've already done that. I just refuse to update to the latest modem, I'll be on ML1 forever

Yes. Is NE1 that bad?
Also, what firmware is recommended these days? Noticed that the latest versions of the latest firmware and modem ZIPs do not pass ZIP verification; tried multiple different sources.
Actually I'm getting a better signal with ne1

Thanks. Does this ZIP pass verification for you on flashing? Just wondering as other versions of the same modem file from xda threads did not (as mentioned earlier), but after disabling verification the ZIP seemed to flash fine. Same for the MF1 firmware files.
I just installed mastamoon's CM 12 build, which is really nice, and I seem to have good mobile with NE1, but problems I've seen on other ROMs are popping up with this one too (can't get GPS to lock, and can't get USB data transfer working). I'm wondering if a bad firmware/modem image is screwing with the phone, and whether there's a modem and/or firmware image ZIP somewhere that passes verification?
Which ROM's were you on that you had issues with GPS and usb transfer?

Same for me.
Well, at this point it might be prudent to odin back to stock. I had to do it a couple months ago, had the brilliant idea to encrypt my phone. It took me about 2 hrs to get the phone back to normal. You have to run casual again to unlock, install recovery, install firmware, flash any current ROM.

[Q] Trying to flash custom ROMs on Sprint GS5 (SM-G900p) and FAILING

I'm new to the whole rooting and flashing scene. However, I'm good at following instructions, generally pretty good at figuring out how to overcome unexpected problems, and a pretty quick study. I've got the hang of rooting my phone down pat, and I can flash stock ROMs with no trouble. Unfortunately though, I have yet to successfully flash a custom ROM on my Sprint Galaxy S 5 (SM-G900P). First, I thought I'd try for CyanogenMod, but the CM installer says that my device is not supported, and refuses to work for me. I know it can be done without the installer, but I have yet to locate the instructions someplace to do it manually.
After giving up on CM for now, I found Alliance ROM for KitKat 4.4.4, which REALLY intrigues me with its high flexibility. What's more, it's KitKat, which I much prefer over Lolipop. Ever since I switched to Lolipop, my apps have all started crashing frequently, even after being updated, and even TouchWiz itself has started crashing frequently. I also don't like the new drop-down menu or the new Recent Apps display. So, I flashed KitKat 4.4.4 kernal and then tried to flash Alliance ROM, but I just got stuck in a boot loop. I booted back to recovery, flashed the stock 4.4.4 image again, and tried to figure out what to do to get Alliance working. I went through the entire Alliance ROM thread here on xda, and found THIS POST describing a method to get Alliance ROM working on a 4.4.4 kernal without having to flash back to 4.4.2. After following those directions, though, I still wound up in a boot loop. Now, when I did that, I wasn't able to use the de-odexed version, and had to use the odexed one instead. After waiting 2 hours to download both versions, I couldn't get the de-odexed one to flash at all. It gave me an error message about no md5 found, or something like that. Unzipping the zip file would have given me a bunch of disconnected folders, so I just tried to flash it from the zip, but it didn't work. The odexed version, however, had an md5 inside the zip, so I just unzipped and flashed the odexed md5. Still got boot loop, though, after I tried to install Alliance ROM afterward.
So, with all that being said, here's what I'm looking for.
Either:
1.) A reliable way to install Alliance ROM on my Sprint Galaxy S5 (SM-G900P)
2.) A different custom ROM that might be better suited to my needs. This is what I'm looking for:
a.) Rooted
b.) debloated
c.) wifi tether and USB tether
d.) KitKat Drop Down and Recent Apps menus
e.) Some badass-looking themes. I really like the look of the Black Glass themes from Alliance, so either THAT or something that looks equally badass
f.) I would like to be able to overclock
g.) want to see CPU usage
h.) battery percent
i.) want to be able to turn off camera shutter sound. (Maybe this can be handled by just installing a different camera app, idk)
j.) Working private mode
k.) fingerprint scanner functionality would be NICE, but not a must. I really only use it for Private mode.
I'm sure there are probably other things that I'd like to see, but those are the ones I can think of right now. So if anyone can tell me how to get Alliance ROM working, or has a suggestion of another custom ROM that would include those features, and that will work with my Sprint Galaxy S5 (SM-G900P), and where I can find it, I'm all ears.
Thanks!
So, from what I have read here, and I skimmed most of it, is a bootloader issue. You not only need version specific kernel but bootloader as well. You're issue might be that you have a kit-kat bootloader trying to flash lollipop or vice versa. Your best bet is to Odin the Official stock tar of which ever version of custom rom you want to flash, i.e 4.4.2, 4.4.4, 5.0. Then you can reroot and flash the coinciding custom rom. Does that make sense?

Yeah, that makes sense. Where do I find the Official stock tar? Also, if I flash back to 4.4.2, then reroot and flash Alliance for 4.4.2, can I upgrade from there to 4.4.4 without having to flash again? Or do I have to flash stock 4.4.4 followed by flashing Alliance for 4.4.4?
4.4.2 and 4.4.4 are both kit-kat, so you can flash either one. Look in Sprint Galaxy s5 Android development for the tar files

Just tried the Alexis Rom and same thing.. stuck on boot. I reinstalled Alliance hoping for diffrent results.. can text message but no audio during a calls.. ugh! Back to stock again lol..
Provider - Telus
S6 920w8
Stock Android version - 5.0.2
Stock Kernal 3.10.61-4808800
I am using TWRP v2.8.6.0 and am wondering if the version or kernal may have anything to do with getting stuck on boot with almost every ROM i've tried to install..
My procedure when installing a custom ROM is to do a factory reset from TWRP (i dont do data or format because there is no sd card slot to store my rom or backup image), install ROM, clear cache/divik, reboot to system.
Any Ideas??

Reflash any ROM giving you sound issues and then flash either hacker kernel or arter kernel as they are the only two compatible as far as I know. Once you have flashed arter kernel and then rebooted your phone. Reboot your phone back into recovery once more and then flash this https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B4Gyz91x5k7gc2NBS2N5TFQwY0k/view?usp=drivesdk it is the call audio fix for our devices (925T / 925W8)
(920T / 920W8)
Just make sure you DO NOT FLASH THIS BEFORE DEVICE REBOOT AFTER FLASHING CUSTOM KERNEL. Or you will get into a bootloop and say this doesn't work. (Your system needs to build with kernel settings first)
Here's a step by step I hope helps.
1. Flash custom ROM
2. Flash custom kernel
3. REBOOT
4. Set up ROM.
5. Reboot into recovery.
6. Flash call fix.
7. REBOOT
8. Profit.
Hope it helps you and welcome to making your phone truly yours.

Another reason why you are not booting is because you are on 5.0.1
You will have to update the bootloader to MM 6.0 first in order to use 6.0 custom ROMs this can be achieved by flashing any of our latest Canadian firmwares. (Does not matter what company if you are changing FW after.)
ALSO you can use the advanced wipe settings on TWRP to wipe everything but 'internal storage' that is where the ROM is downloaded.
I had alot of issues installing custom ROM's.. so i decided to upgrade and install OEM marshmallow 6.0.1 then re-root my phone. It worked.. I'm running Griffin ROM atm but will play around with other roms now that i have a good idea of where i went wrong.

I do not. However I always have mobile data running, maybe toggle yours and see if it sends. Some of the new ROMS have incorporated a tweak that auto toggles data to recieve pictures and send them. Griffin AFAIK does not have this tweak yet so when sending MMS you need to manually turn mobile data on and off.

[FIX] No signal after update/flash to 6.0 (MM)

Hello, everyone. It's been a long time since I posted, maybe since my S4.
There may be some of you who are not getting signal or just "Emergency Calls Only" after update/upgrade/flash to 6.0 (MM).
There's a simple solution which I found after many and many tries.
Modem: https://www.mediafire.com/?14az40tk2dkd3gw
Step 1. Download the Modem attached.
Step 2. Open Odin, look for the file and put it in CP.
Step 3. Flash it.
Step 4. There's not step 4.
Enjoy your signal.
Edit:
If any of above does not work you can use this method by dhiru1602
Happened to me. I had no signal after flashing Marshmallow. Reverting back to any lollipop baseband fixed the issue. I did some digging and it turns out there was some provisioning parameters changes done from Lollipop to Marshmallow which was preventing network to work after flashing Marshmallow baseband. The RIL was using the wrong radio technology setting.
I did the following to fix the issue.
1. Dial ##72786#
2. Press Yes to reset the Provisioning Settings to default.
3. Reboot the Phone.
CAUTION: I am not responsible for broken unlocks. I tried this method and my phone was still unlocked. I don't know if it works for everyone without breaking unlock..

It's the lollipop radio, so it will work fine, and yes, it will work in Marshmallow, tested by myself.
Is there anything i need to do first? After flashing lollipop or marshmallow my phone will start and stay on for about a minute with no signal and then reboot and do it all over... ive done factory reset. Turning airplane mode on delays the reboot but will end up rebooting. The area for signal bars is there just no bars

Should i do rtn for sprint clear efs and have modem in cp slot with the lollipop or marshmallow in ap slot or do separately? Sorry for blowing up thread i just dont want to resort to calling sprint with no resolution from them.
To check if it's a situation about CPU reboots install TWRP and put the phone to do some random operation that TWRP has, if it does reboot even in Recovery then your phone is faulty, if not then let's do something about it, I wil guide you.
Sweet i appreciate it, im flashing marshmallow back on then i will flash twrp, the sim card wont react when putting one in or out such as requiring a reboot. I just called sprint and they set an appt but id rather not. I will post as soon as twrp mode and let u know if its rebooting there.

Basically in a nutshell how it happened is I upgraded to marshmallow via oden and everything was good, signal everything. So then i installed twrp 3.0.0.0-3 or what ever and through twrp installed supersu 2.68 and rebooted and thats when signal was gone. Reflashed marshmallow via oden and same issue up til now. Have flashed ok3 and marshmallow with no fix.

I now have tried installing moar rom through twrp and it bootloops about the same timeframe it would reboot in stock only not getting fully booted but rebooting while the boot animation is going where the stock would fully boot and then about 30 seconds it would reboot. Flashing stock would successfully boot the first time and then the 30 second reboot, flashing custom reboots 30 seconds still only not fully booting the first time. Sim status and imei status have no information on stock and software version shows unavailable on stock with both lollipop and marshmallow. The only place it doesnt reboot is twrp or philz touch or stock recovery

Try the general steps but flashing the official firmware or using the one from that thread? The biggest issue currently besides no signal is the rebooting every 30 seconds unless im in download mode or recovery be it twrp or stock. The software version under settings and status shows as unknown as well as sim status and imei status on both lollipop and marshmallow. If i could get it to stop rebooting i could play around in hidden menu or build prop or csc settings but i cant do anything hardly in 30 seconds before reboot. Does the same thing in safe mode
im in the same boat after i tried to change my kernel.
its looking like a fd up efs folder. we need a good backup to resotore in twrp to fix efs, or efs repair tool

No.
Hi , my note 5 was originally N920P(sprint) before I bought it. It was rooted and the model number was changed to N920F (IDK how they did it) . I guess they did that to bypass network lock. Please how can I flash official firmware without relocking the device to sprint? I heard others with the same phone as mine are getting no network reception after flashing official firmware. Thanks
Thanks Buddy. It worked.
But I have another phone with the same problem
Will this file and method work for Sprint Galaxy S5?

Hello, everyone. It's been a long time since I posted, maybe since my S4.
There may be some of you who are not getting signal or just "Emergency Calls Only" after update/upgrade/flash to 6.0 (MM).
There's a simple solution which I found after many and many tries.
Modem: https://www.mediafire.com/?14az40tk2dkd3gw
Step 1. Download the Modem attached.
Step 2. Open Odin, look for the file and put it in CP.
Step 3. Flash it.
Step 4. There's not step 4.
Enjoy your signal.

Why is my S7 Stuck on the T-Mobile screen / Doesn't work and how do I fix it?

So, I rooted my S7. It worked fine. One day, randomly out of no where it bootlooped (Google play services crashed. I restarted phone and it bootlooped. )
I have not made a single system modification other then rooting it. Didn't mod anything or mess with system files, and I had barely even been using the phone when it happened.
So I unrooted it (The phone still gave me the "Custom" symbol though) and Just now-- It randomly restarted. I didn't restart it. it just did it by itself. And it came into a bootloop. I don't understand why. What can I do to fix this?
MORE SPECIFICALLY: By Bootloop, I mean it stays on the T-Mobile screen and vibrates every minute or so and does not do anything (I even left it alone for ~ 30minutes and it never got past this screen)
Factory resetting the phone fix's it, but I don't want to factory reset my $400 phone every week! I don't understand how I could fix this either.
What method did you use to unroot? Did you flash stock firmware with odin?

All I did pretty much was flash stock s7 firmware. (More specifically boot.img)
Originally couldn't find a stock s7 image then I just used one I already had and it worked fine
EDIT: Flashed the entirety of G930TUVU4APK1 firmware, (Rom and all) Hopefully this will fix my issue and stop it from happening but if Anyone has any ideas or suggestions, I'm all open

Just now noticed wat your problem is sorry for being late so yes to fix the bootloop refladh stock firm and when you go through all the root steps install xposed (yes it's possible it's insane on how they got it to work but it's possible I've done with my self)after getting xposed installed through flash fire go to xposed and get xtouchwiz something it's a blue gear install that And it will set your system status as official
