How do you get the ROM from the HTC RUU?

I've read previous threads that instruct to search for rom.zip in the temp folder. I have found the rom.zip but it does not flash using CWM. How do I get the rom which I can flash through CWM?
You don't flash it through cwm, you rename it accordingly (PHxxIMG.zip) based on your phone model and flash it through HBOOT.

Okay. I do recall my phone searching for similarly named images when I booted the phone to recovery. How exactly am I supposed to flash them after renaming and placing them in the root of my SD Card?
Also, do normal regional restrictions still apply to this process? (Will it bail if I try flashing the phxximg.zip of a European RUU on a asian phone?)
Thanks a lot.
Don't know about the regional restrictions. To flash it you just put the renamed zip in the root of your SD card and reboot into bootloader. It'll scan for the file and ask you to press some key if you want to flash the update. That's it.

Regional restrictions apply unless you have changed your CID to allow for flashing of other regions ROMs. This is called "SuperCID". I'm not sure which HTC phone you have otherwise I'd link you to how to get it on your phone, but it's a simple google search "SuperCID *phone name*"
When you have SuperCID, it allows the flashing of any ROM by any carrier so if you intend on doing an Asian ROM on a Euro phone, check and make sure the hardware is the same, otherwise you'll bork something.
Example: if you flashed a CDMA EVO 3D ROM on a GSM EVO 3D, you'd likely lose your data, signal at least, given that the CDMA and GSM 3D's have different radios. You'd probably lose even more but the data and signal at least are for sure.

Exactly, just got an incorrect CID error. I'm trying to do this on HTC One V. The bootloader is unlocked. Can you please link me to the SuperCID for HTC one V? Is it software or hardware?
Also for this process, do I need to have stock recovery or having CWM won't cause any issue?
Moreover, is it okay if the bootloader is unlocked or do I "relock" it?

Can you please post me the link to the SuperCID for HTC One V. Googling didn't help much.
Another very important question, my stock ROM was an Indian one. I rooted and flashed a stock European ROM. Due to this process, do you think the original CID was modified?

You'll most likely need to re-lock before flashing the RUU. I haven't heard of a way to get super-cid on the One V yet, but if it's possible you should be able to find it in the HTC One V forums.

No signals on HTC TP2 after factory reset

Hello Guys,
I have a HTC touch pro-2 from verizone with mighty ROM. It was sim unlocked and working fine on GSM (in India ) since last 1.5 year. I realized it has become very slow and I did a factory reset.
It wiped off all the data as expected but now when i insert my sim it dont show any signals I tried with diffrent SIM cards of diffrent providers but it keeps on serching for signals. I checked and found it is still SIM unlocked but still keep on serching for network.
Following are the deatails of my phone:
Radio version :1.96.00wf
OS Ver : 5.2.21889 (21889.5.0.87)
Manila ver : 2.5.20132227.0
ROM ver: Mighty ROM
ROM date : 06/20/2010
CPU QComm(R) 7600
Please let me know if any other info is required.
Before writing in here, I tried every possible way to find my answer in existing threads but could not.
waiting for some positive replies.
Thanks..

+1, someone just had the exact same issue, and he found that the radio had reverted to the WV instead of WU. Make sure you're still on an unlocked radio...

Dear arrrghhh,
I am so thankful that you replied. I googled and checked a lot of pages on internet. It seems that my phone is security unlocked as it displays "SIM Unlocked" but the radio in my phone (1.96.00wf) is either works in US or a locked version of radio.
As my phone is already unlocked so I believe that I dont need to buy an unlock code again. I just need to upgrade the radio.
Is my understanding correct?

Your phone should stay sim unlocked once it is unlocked. Try replacing the radio, and let us know.
Also you might have better luck searching here than on google for something this specific.

You would have better luck asking in the sim unlocking threads. I am sure it is all probably covered there in the first post.

In need of major major help

I need some major help, good folks of XDA. I've purchased this HTC One S from a guy who got it from Fido; naturally it was locked to Fido. I was planning on giving it to my girlfriend who is with Telus. I used cellunlocker.net to unlock the phone to find out that it didnt work with Telus. It would pick up signal then lose signal, pick up signal and lose signal every 10 seconds or so. I thought if I put a custom ROM on it might get me signal so I unlocked bootloader, rooted and put Viper ROM on it but it turns out it still wouldn't pick up network on Telus. So I decided to try it on my network, Rogers, and it picks up network but only 2G!!! Now my One S has the stable CM10 on it with baseband 1.08ts.50.02.16_10.08e.50.04L, unlocked bootloader with s-on, hboot 1.06, radio - 0.16.31501s.02
Here are the solutions I have tried so far to this problem;
-Tried to install multiple RUU both with ROGER001 CID and Super CID:11111111 and I couldn't install any of the RUUs, kept getting Error 155 with Rogers RUU and Check CID errors with other RUUs.
-Used to have 1.13 hboot but downgraded to 1.06 so I could change basebands and everytime I flash a different baseband, nothing changes after reboot.
-There is a recent jellybean rogers ota update zip but I dont know how to install it
please someone help!!! Thank you in advance and even more if my problem ever gets solved
Wrong forum for this kind of question. Have you tried flashing the telus radio? Also modifying the build.prop with the telus settings might help. Odd that you're having that issue on Rogers since Fido is the same network. Sounds like someone may have sold you a dud...

Just asking, why is this the wrong (forum) as you say cuz this forum handles all devices does it not and I don't see anything wrong with his post?
SuperCID lets you flash any RUU, that error is most likely down to the bootloader being unlocked so if you really want to run a RUU then you want SuperCID and the lock the bootloader then run the RUU and also before you start the RUU be in fastboot mode first.

Try hex editing mmcblk0p23 .... There is a method here for flashing RUUs that is discussed in the development forum in the sticky for downgrading your bootloader.... Try the hex edit, and then lock and then flash.
You could also try flashing a different baseband radio. For Canada, I didnt get the best reception from 1.08. You can d/l new baseband radios either for your phones radio partition or for CM10 (which uses a different location). There is a thread with radios collected in them in the development section.
I would try flashing a different radio before the RUU... The RUUs will upgrade your bootloader and then you cant flash new radios and other partition on SENSE seperately (ie ROMS wont flash properly and you will need to fastboot the boot.img every time)...
Funny , I unlocked my Original Fido One S to use it on Wind and it works perefectly. It should work on Telus ...have you tried inputting telus apn and restarting the phone after?

Is this a radio problem?

Hi guys, So i have a GB HTC Sensation and have moved to the US I brought a AT&T Sim and assumed i could just use it since my phone is fulled S-OFF and Perm Rooted. It keeps asking me for my Sim unlock code so i found it and it says sim unlocked sucessfull But it does not find any signal what so ever and when i turn my phone on and off again i have to keep typing the sim unlock code in. when i go to Settings-wireless&networks-Mobile networks-Network operators It says error while seaching for networks. Im not sure why...
So when i went from sence to ICS I remember i had to flash a new radio and when i did as i was on Orange in england i selected the Orange one. So im assuming that the phone is locked to the Orange network with that radio (I dont know much about radios soo please tell me if im wrong)
So will i have to flash an AT&T radio to my phone? if so can someone point me to a thread on how and where to do so as i can not remember

i really don't know but you can use getril app from playstore
it will tell you the best combination of radio/ril
Just an idea.
Go to your dialer, put in *#*#4636#*#*
Then do Phone Information
Once in there hit the menu button and select Radio Band
And then select USA Band
See if that does anything for you.
Use any guie forum brow

Try this http://iphone-unlock.blogspot.com/2012/08/how-to-unlock-htc-sensation-4g.html and this http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1693491
But generically try to wipe cache and dalvik cache and/or wipe data and/or try to flash another ROM and another Radio.
If not, may be hardware problem. Verify that the case is fully adjusted to phone, and try also to clean contacts.

HTC U11 Dual Sim / International Unlocked: not all features are working on T-Mobile

I have a HTC U11 Dual Sim / International Unlocked version that I was able to get while I was in Taiwan.
The CID of this phone is set to ChungHwa Telecom - the Mobile Carrier in Taiwan (CID = HTC__621 TWM-TW).
I am using the phone in the US with a T-Mobile SIM card, and generally it works ok. However, there are a few problems that i have, which I think are because the phone is not set to the correct CID.
1) If I am on a mobile data network, I cannot simultaneously make a phone call and use mobile data (browse using Chrome, use Google Maps, etc). I can browse data as soon as I end the call. This is not an issue when i am on a wifi network.
2) I cannot get T-Mobile's VoLTE function to work.
Questions: if I set the phone to Super CID, US Unlocked, or T-Mobile, will everything work correctly? Do I also have to change the MID, or can I leave this alone?
Is this the procedure that I should follow to change the CID? https://forum.xda-developers.com/u11/how-to/convert-sprint-branded-u11-to-unlocked-t3664154
Sorry, but I am somewhat of a noob when it comes to this, but I think that I have to use Sunshine to get S-OFF and then enter the command lines fastboot oem writecid BS_US001 or fastboot oem writecid 11111111
Then I have to flash the RUU to the US unlocked, but how exactly do I do this?
Supercid is no longer valid so the cid must match the firmware you're flashing. Yes you will need s-off, change cid, flash firmware, done.
Your first issue I have it too. I can't use data while on call. The data connection cuts the moment my phone starts ringing. And I don;t know what to do, but I can live with it.
For VoLTE, I think you need the T-mobile firmware.

As far as Volte goes, if you change to us unlocked it'll work fine. I'm with mint sim that uses tmo and all works fine. And It's great being able to surf while talking.
US unlocked is the way to go imo.
Surf and talking are allowed only if data and call comes from the same Sim.
HTC U11 is not dual active

So, I managed to unlock the bootloader, used Sunshine to achieve S-Off, changed my CID to BS_001 (US developer). The last thing that I have been trying to do is flash the ROM to the US Unlocked ROM. I am running the installation utility and getting this error message: "Error [130]: MODEL ID ERROR. The ROM update utility cannot update your Android Phone. Please get the correct ROM Update Utility and try again."
I did notice this: the ROM that I have installed on my phone is: 2.42.709.1 (this was released for the Taiwanese version of the U11)
The most recent US unlocked ROM is: 2.42.617.1 (this is the one that I am trying to install on the phone).
Is this causing a problem?
Do I need to change the MID (model ID of the phone)...if so, how do I do this?
What do I do next?
