Hello there.
Honor 8 frd-l04 USER HERE.
After FORCING the Nougat update with FIRMWARE FINDER, I was having problems when receiving calls, the phone would answer itself while it was in my pocket, even while having the TOUCH DISABLE MODE and no raise to wake, raise to ear, flip etc functions turned off.
So i decided to rollback to MM, so just followed the instructions given here...
http://www.hihonor.com/us/support/index.html
Nevertheless, I couldn't do it. IT kept saying "software install failed" when installing the package, so I was stuck in the INTERMEDIATE PACKAGE ... FRD-L04C900B300
Later then I tried to install / flash the MM package... the one they give in honor support page, and it worked, but for some unknown reason it shows I have the FRD-C675B140 build numer... and in MODEL only says FRD.
Don't know what happened, it works fine but I can't flash any other versions now and says there are no updates while I expected it to show the Nougat update available OTA.
Anyone has any idea what might have happened or what can I do to return to stock FRD-L04 FIRMWARE?
THanks in advance.
I'm having this same issue. Did you ever find a solution?
Hey don't worry, just download mm firmware from official site then extract UPDATE. APP you'll see recovery and recovery2 files, flash those two files, keep UPADATE.APP file in dload folder and flash the . APP file using three button. That's it you're done :good:
all i know playing with firmware finder is risky., there are a lot of files there you miss flash one of them and its bummer., i am having some similar issue with secondary device P9-Lite VNS-L31 stuck on some B120 firmware on EMUI 4.1.3 MM, now installing a firmware shows software install failed error to me every time in the recovery

It told me the software wasn't compatible.
Ok, so the credit for this goes to technoguy09, but this finally fixed it for me.
HONOR 8 Bricked
Hello ,
It happened on my FRD-L04, but I think is the same.
Bootloader is unlocked ?
1. Do you have all drivers installed ? OK
2.Do you have STOCK ROM ? OK. If not, use Huawei Firmare Finder to find suitable ROM. Be aware what you choose !!!
3. Unzipp (WinRar) the ROM.
4.Download and install Huawei Update Extractor. Run Huawei Update Extractor . Choose Update.app from the folder you unzipped the ROM.
5. Select cust.img , boot.img , recovery.img and system.img and extract them on a folder.
6.. Install MultiTool by Team (Multi Tool Team). The instalation will make a folder named UNBRICK.
7. Move the files extracted : cust.img , boot.img , recovery.img and system.img on the folder UNBRICK
8. Run MultiTool . Choose option 6 (unbrick) and after that choose option 2 ( if you already have files on folder UNBRICK)
9. Let the tool finish the job.
NOTE : You must have all drivers installed and the phone in FASTBOOT mode ( turn phone OFF - Press VOL- and insert USB cable simultaneously.)
Good luck !

Hello, sorry bad english ^^.
1) I would like to delete the message "your phone is unlock" to sell my phone.
It is possible to delete TWRP and the unlock ? or just hide the message ? i need a clear factory phone.
2) update impossible !
- The "update" menu in setting disappear !
- HiCare say "Your phone is up to date" but i have the red badge (1) on icon Setting
- TWRP say error : 7 when i swipe the update xxxxB389 update.zip correctly
My phone is FRD-L09 C432B380
Thanks For Help :good:
First you have to "fastboot flash recovery recovery.img" and "fastboot flash recovery2 recovery2.img" from extracted update.zip of current B380 firmware (huawei firmware extractor). You just replace custom recovery with stock one. Second read the process of dload method. Then download rollback package for your model and firmware B131 (Android M). You could find them somewhere on XDA or download them through Honor site/Firmware Finder. First dload rollback package, than the same for update.zip and then update_data_full_hw_eu.zip. After all 3 files are flashed you should be back to stock and ready to take standard OTA to latest firmware without any sign of unlocked bootloader.

i don't understand, i'm novice.
i don't have a windowsOS to launch firmwareExtractor exe , but i have the fastboot command in terminal.
i have found and download the rollback package : hihonor.com/fr/support/details/index.html?DOC_ID=92133
Someone could send you the right recovery.img and recovery2.img if he has downloaded FRD-L09C432B380 and has got Windows to extract that. And you need a B131 firmware to download (2 zips).
Do I understand that you have nonWindowsOS PC and you have access to adb and fastboot respectively (and via that you were able to unlock your device in the first place)?
mmm yes i have unlock my phone via ADB on OSX
i have found B131 . : hidrive.strato.com/lnk/Rdljlogo
that all i need ?
Yes, b131 is only one zip file with aproximately 1,75GB, rollback package is about 74,4MB (both comprised). I do attach recovery files from FRD-L09C432B381 and which I used to flash over TWRP before updating to newest firmware. It should work. Start with flashing recovery via fastboot, than dload rollback and last would be the firmware. Good luck! Give others feedback if it helped you.

Thank you.
he stays 3hour download so i recaps ^^:
1 ) Flashing with FastBoot recovery.img and after Recovery2.img
2) What can i do with RollBack ? i have dload folder with UPDATE.APP inside
3) Swipe Firmware b131 with TWRP ?
4) i have a clear phone with no unlock ? and i can update in setting app
1) Yes. Estabilish fastboot connection with your device, put the files in the folder of your "adb program" and use the commands above. Now, you will lost TWRP and will have stock recovery.
2) Yes. I have sent you a link to check dload process. You have to dload rollback via button combination with your SD card. It's all there.
3) No. After flashing rollback package via dload you have to do the same dload process for the B131 firmware. It's just the same. Very short recap is here.
4) Yes, back to stock, only with "old firmware".
Yeah thanks i will doing this soon

Worked for you?
i have the last update actually, no root, no twrp, no unlock phone
Hi! This is my first post and going to be a long one! But kindly excuse me! I need HELP!
I have Semi bricked my Honor 6x firmware (bln-l22, android 6.0, emui 4.1, c675b132, india channel) while trying to manually update it to Nougat which I downloaded from "stechguide.com/honor-6x- b360-nougat-update". I downloaded the Asian version. I accidentally extracted and flashed update_data_full_BLN-L22_hw_spcseas.zip instead of the update.zip first. The update_data_full_BLN-L22_hw_spcseas.zip file got to 100% installed and then went to Huawei eRecovery. Then I couldn't flash the update.zip. I get a software install failed. Also tried to manually flash to stock Rom and other newer update versions of Nougat on SD card again but I get software install failed or Incompatible for this phone. I tried to factory hard reset but this also fails. I can wipe only the cache and reboot which goes again to eRecovery. The eRecovery on wifi does not work either. I looked up booting to safe mode but nothing happens.
After reading a lot on this forum, I tried minimal adb and fastboot. My device in fastboot & rescue mode shows up on minimal adb and fastboot when I type "fastboot devices" command (but adb devices gives no devices/emulator found). It also shows up as Android Phone (Android sooner Single ADB Interface) in Device manager on PC and android drivers is upto date. The Huawei suite loads up but can't connect to it (can't enable hdb).
My phone is boot locked, FRP locked, not rooted (and impossible to enable usb debug) so I can't flash any commands like recovery.img, system.img or twrp and cwm recovery. I always get the remote command not allowed.
Right now, On starting my device, Honor logo shows up, vibrates and goes dark twice then to eRecovery.
All the other combination functions of Power, Vol - and Vol + works.
Please help me restore my Honor 6x to stock or update to Nougat! Thanks a ton!
extract update.zip. Get the UPDATE.APP.
create a "dload" directory to your sdcard. copy UPDATE.APP in this folder
shutdown phone / unplug phone.
hold on VOL + + VOL - + POWER
UPDATE.APP will install. Then shutdown phone. remove UPDATE.APP from dload directory. Extract UPDATE.APP from second zip (smallest one: update_data_full_BLN-L22_hw_spcseas.zip)
copy this new UPDATE.APP into dload folder on sdcard.
Shutdown phone / unplug
hold on VOL + + VOL - + POWER
When install complete, try to boot, if not boot, recovery into recovery and wipe cache / data

Heya! Thanks for the reply.
Can you be more specific about Which ROM to use? The stock ROM or the Newer Nougat Firmware for my phone model?
I have tried the following:
Honor 6X B132 Stock ROM and Honor 6X B320, 330, 360. Yet to try B320, 340 & 342 Firmwares.
I don't remember which one says incompatible, wrong update package or software update failed after 6% installation but bottom line is they all fail to install. I can't do a Hard reset and only wipe cache. I do wipe cache before flashing with SD card dload method but still unsuccesful.:fingers-crossed:

Unless you are unhappy with your phone performance, I'd recommend not to rollback provided our rollback package is even available to perform that!

Can you kindly send me the firmware download links?
Edit:
I dug deeper into this B360 nougat update and I now know for sure I've tried to flash a wrong update for my Phone wrongly.
The B360 for – [Asian variant] Honor 6X is BLN-L22C636Bxxx which is different from the Indian build – [Indian variant] Honor 6X BLN-L22C675Bxxx.
Am I missing something here?

to fastboot
reboot phone, and power + volume down hold
if not connect usb and try it again
then unlock bootloader
twrp
wipe partitions,
you can install throght twrp
for flashing you can try this manual:
https://forum.xda-developers.com/mate-8/general/how-to-install-nxt-l29c432b560-official-t3540042
if you want B321 i think, you need to downgrade EMUI 5 (with rollback)
or you can try flash B580
- you can try srk tools for unbrick
Ok

I found this method can any one explain how to do that in details
Also I need stock firmwares c185b580 and c185b560 where can i found them?
The method is

ADB-Fastboot-Driver –>*Download Here
Huawei Firmware Extractor tool .rar –>*Download Here
1. Downloader rom (UPDATE.APP) put in Huawei Rom Extractor folder.
2. After you puted “UPDATE.APP in folder you first run “split_updata” and it will create “output” folder with extracted files(It script will not work without ActivePerl installed on your computer.)
3. After “split_updata” finished you need to run “HuaweiFinder” script and it will compile “system.img” and “boot.img”, you need cut or copy “boot.img”(18mgb) and “system.img”(1gb img file) in fastboot folder.
4. Reboot your device into bootloader(holding Vol- and power button)

Hello guys,
I had some problems with my Honor 6x L21 so I tried to flash new custom ROM that I didn't like in the end. I tried to revert back and found update.app method. I somehow relocked my bootloader and now tried to install update.app which fails at 5 % and says it is not compatible.
Now, I have erecovery with me that can get nothing after connecting to wifi. No update from SD Card option available.
When I try to unlock bootloader again, it fails.
Also, when I run command 'fastboot oem get-bootinfo' the following lines do come in result:
<bootloader> unlocked
OKAY [0.009s]
Finished.
However, my phone shows Phone Relocked and FRP lock.
Any help guys?
@amannan: I have a US BLN-L24, I was able to use the dload method to roll back to Marshmallow from Nougat. I'm not sure why it sometimes fails at 5%, I think Huawei recently implemented something to cause the update to fail if you haven't passed an online verification check. So basically, no upgrading offline for some of the newer firmwares, someone correct me if I'm wrong. I think it has something to do with Nougat too.
In your case, all hope isnt lost as long as you can access eRecovery and fastboot. What you need to do is find the stock MM packages for your device. This will most likely consist of a small rollback file and a much larger firmware file. Go search Huawei's downloads section on their website until you find what you need, use your model as a reference point. There should also be a PDF file with instructions in it, read it.
For each of the 2 files you get, extract the zips, make a folder called dload on your MicroSD (not internal phone storage). In my case I had to first place the update.app file from the rollback zip into the dload folder, boot to eRecovery (hold volume up and volume down, then hold Power, let let of Power when logo appears but continue to hold the other keys). From there the file will automatically flash. Then I had to extract update.app from the large firmware zip and put in dload, repeat same process again. You should be back on MM.
If either file wont flash then go download Huawei Firmware Extractor. Use it to extract boot.img and recovery.img from the rollback zip's update.app, then boot to fastboot mode while phone is powered off. Plug in a MicroUSB charger into phone then plug other end into PC.
Then:
fastboot flash boot boot.img
fastboot flash recovery recovery.img
fastboot reboot
Make sure to install drivers for the phone first, just install HiSuite on Windows is easiest way. For ADB and fastboot, install '15 seconds adb fastboot" (Google it). If the terminal on your PC says something like "file not found", then either use the cd command (change directory) to move working directory to boot.img/recovery.img location, or move the files to C:\adb.
Once you're back up and booting you can then proceed to bootloader unlock, root, ROM flashing, etc.
Hope this helped!

Dear AnonVendetta, Thank you so much for the help. I was able to use the dload method. I read somewhere that the last firmware version needs to be updated using dload method. I had B361 before it got all messed up so tried that update and it started working.
Also, the fastboot won't flash any img file since the FRP was locked somehow.
Thank you for the help
@amannan: Glad it worked out, you must have already made progress before I posted, your response was too quick.
I do believe you cant flash anything via fastboot if the bootloader is still locked.
I've only owned my Honor 6X for about 2 weeks, I've had to do an emergency recovery several times due to various issues. This is my first Huawei but I've owned many Android devices before, and rooted/custom ROMmed most of them, so I'm just a newbie to Huawei but not Android in general. I'm getting the hang of things.
Good luck!

Yes, dload method is the only way to restore the device in such scenario. If frp is locked then condition is worse as you can not flash anything but only dload will help you. Correct package should be flashed and will succeed.
I was trying to root my phone but messed up really bad. Before, whenever I bricked my phone, I just used the dload (UPDATE.APP) method to fix it. But now, when I put a UPDATE.APP file in my SD card and press Vol Up+Down+Power. It doesn't go into dload. It just gets stuck into Your phone is booting up.
Now I only have access to fastboot mode and TWRP. Nothing else. TWRP says no OS Installed
What was your build number and what's your model number?
If you can boot into bootloader mode:
1. Download a firmware compatible for your honor from firmware finder for huawei
2. Download and install huawei extractor
3. Extract system.img, boot.img, recovery.img from the firmware
4. Plug your phone to the computer and boot into bootloader
5. Open command prompt and type:
Fastboot flash system system.img
Fastboot flash boot boot.img
Fastboot flash recovery recovery.img
6. Shut down your phone and boot into recovery
7. Perform a factory reset
8. Should be done!

When I bought the phone, it came with FRD-L19C636B360 firmware but it says FRD-AL10 on the back of my phone. So, I don't know what's wrong there. Now that I managed to flash erecovery and go back to stock ROM (FRD-L19C900B131), I'm stuck with EMUI 4.1 and no updates.

Hello,
So it's a rebranded phone, many of imported Honor phones come rebranded by reseller...
I advise you to debrand your phone, a rebranded chinese phone from chinese to europe version can't get working firmware above B380.
To do that, you need to unlock your bootloader and root your device. (Guide: here)
Then you can use this tool to change "vendor/country": Huawei_Multi-Tool_by_Team_MT_v7.1.exe (Avoid v8 update if you can, but if you can't you can launch "v7.1" from v8 interface)
