cannot upgrade the firmware

i have honor 6 H60-L04 with firmware B106SP01. I cannot update the phone to B109SP01 .i have downloaded ota update, flashed through stock recovery . But it always say update failed. I dont want to root the phone as it belongs to my sister. Can anybody help on it

i had the same problem but i rooted the phone...
do you unlocked the bootloader?

its my sister phone she will not allow me to unlock bootloader nor root her phone. the method u suggested in the link need the phone to be rooted and its risky if something happens to phone my sister would kill me. If its my phone phone i would have rooted the phone on first day itself as i done in moto g and moto x gen 2

i've just downloaded the "official" rom from Huawei site, then i've flashed it with "3 buttons" method nothing else
If it still doesn't works do a factory reset and than retry

Dear, I put update.app in sdcard0/dload/update.app, after power off the device and press 3 btn, but it says no update.app found fail to update..... How u install this Rom ? plz explain..
and also you said this is russian rom,, so it will support English language ? because I from india..

try sdcard1. The 3btn flash is like a factory reset, all data will be erased from you phone

The best way to upgrade ROM
Hi guys,
I usually upgrade my honor 6 to new ROM via SDCARD even my phone has been unlocked boot loader and rooted.
List how to do it:
(1)Please prepare for a SDCARD(32G) with Fat32 or exFAT format. Then put it into your honor 6.
(2)Get on Huawei website to download full ROM that fits your honor 6 model. Extracting it and copy the folder of dload to your SDCARD.
(3)Get in the "updater" where locates under " settings. The click "updater"
(4)Choose"menu", then a menu would pop up
(5)Choose "local update", and then press " confirm"
(6)Your honor 6 will reboot into bootloader mode and upgrade procedure is going. You will see a progress bar running.
(7)After finished it, your honor 6 will reboot. And then done. Enjoy your new ROM.

Sdcard must 32GB ? my ext sdcard 16 GB.. I put update.app in Sdcard1/dload/update.app, I tried both a way to update ( 3 button press and system upgrade in local updater) but fail to update :crying::crying: till my phone version is H60-L04 EMUI 2.3, B106SP01....... I think no solution for my phone..... Any have thnks dear for you reply...

No it mustn't needs a 32GB !
16 GB works well (as mine)...
About the solution
Follow this steps:

5. Delete cache and reset to factory defaults (This is v. important as otherwise the ROM seems to think you only have ~3.8GB of internal space - doing this in CWM just causes bootloops or still states incorrect space)
6. Power up and then install CWM/Root as usual...
This personally worked for me and as it is stands as the only way to get 3.0 on my phone as dload/web update refuses to work at all...

So i found an app called 'firmware finder' and there was the nougat update (BLN-L21C432B342) for the honor 6x - L21 (EU)
I installed it and got nougat and emui 5
now my build number is 'NRD90M test-keys'
I dont know what this means

There's another file you have to flash, something like update_data_full_BLN-L21_hw_eu.zip . I don't remember where i got it, but if you check the Nougat beta threads you'll find it.

You have to create a folder named dload on your internal storage and put the update.app file in this folder then turn off your device, press volume up + volume down + power button and wait until it flashes.
Thats it
You have to unzip the 800+mb file and then you can put it in thatfolder

THere is a debranding guide in my signature for BLN-L22.
download the OEMINFO file from that thread and the small data zip. Flash the oeminfo file via multitool or TWRP and then small file via TWRP or dlaod and it should be fixed.

Hi I tried many different firmware and always install stopped at 5% (software install failed! Incompatibility with current version) is there any way to install nougat?

Are you trying to install the OS via OTA?

My phone can't see OTA udate I don't know why. I downloaded it with firmware finder but result is always the same. I think my phone is locked for updates?

Pv one would work with regular dload or via twrp? Just checking as haven't flash yet myself evee so woukd be handy for future

That one also doesn't work the same problem reached 5% and than "software instalation failed...."

Main zip had 4 and data zip 5 files for bln-L22 and worked fine. Posted in debranding guide aa well

On a side note, why does this PV work and the other ones (MF) won't?
I've been facing the same issue that our friend here stated, but mine won't go beyond 360, and I see that there's 386 already!

Have you received OTA in past? If so you will get this also. PV works with twrp and fullOTA-MF works with stock.

To flash ota updates you must return 100% stock. Check your model, and
1) flash stock rom for your model via tprw & vendor.zip
2) flash stock recovery
3) flash stock boot.img
4) relock bootloader
5) put "ota update".zip in internal stoarge into download folder
6) turn off wifi, reboot and click on the notification that will appear
If update fail you have something to change because you are not stock.

Stuck in recovery.

I tried to update my Honor 8 from settings. Update started and it crashed somewhere around 50% after that my phone is stuck in recovery mode. If I choose the option "Download latest version and recovery" it connects to wifi and then says "Getting package info failed". I have spent all day looking for a solution with no success. I tried dload method with some packages I found online but it says that the package is not compatible with current version. On the back of the phone it says FRD-AL10. Maybe someone can provide package for this version. I dont have usb debugger enabled. Im out of options, any ideas?

Not sure. I downloaded rollback file and got it installed. My phone booted but its stuck in EMUI first load screen. It just loops around all the first time settings.

You had installed only this Little roolback, if yes now you have to put the entire firmware in dload folder. This entire firmware its about 2 Gb

It is emui4.1. Where can I get full firmware with emui 5?

Yes because you use a roolback to return back, and now you are trying to flash an inappropriate firmware (in your case emui 5). Fistly you have to flash the emui 4.1 full firmware if you had already flashed the roolback, and after you have to update via OTA

I am trying every package I can find 4.1 and 5.0. Its always stuck at 5%. Maybe you can provide some links.

It depends by which roolback you user. If you want the firmware try with firmware finder

That is the version I managed to install after rollback, but its just stuck at first time setup screen. I cant find any newer version. Maybe there is someone who can provide a newer version ?

Firstly we have to know if your phone can still run this os, try formatting data and wipe cache by pressing volume Power and Power +. I searched online and your stable version for nougat is b386

To unlock oem I need usb debugger enabled, right? I can get to lock screen and dial padand some settings from there but not the full settings view. Dont know of a way to enable debugging from there.

Debugging is not necessary, if you plug your smartphone and type fastboot devices, is it recongized?

Yes. To unlock oem I need working adb, right? I had some problems with drivers, couldnt figure it out, will try with a different computer. But what will oem unlock do? What would be the next step?

HONOR 8 Phone bootloop indian Version

I very recently purchased Honor 8. I had rooted my phone and had installed TWRP recovery.
Since the audio quality wasn't so good. I thought of installing viper4droid. Tried installing many v4d as it wasn't working.
At one point, it was stuck at bootloop.
I tried following the dload method to restore the phone but it didn't work.
Can anyone please help me un-brick my phone?
There are so many tutorials and many roms, I don't know what to follow.
If I go to huawei service center, will they help me?
Please guide me

I am able to go to rescue mode. I tried dload method with 2 more ROMs but it failed at 5%.

These are the roms I tried.

I really don't want to give up on this phone

From where to download these roms. In the official site I could see only two roms.
Can you share the link or the site from where I can download these roms?
How I am trying to install is just place the update.APP inside dload folder and then pressing the 3 buttons.

Oh And Extract It So You Can Get Update.app
And Yes, That Is The Correct Way To Install Dload. Sometimes Some EMUI Version Wont Let You Use Dload On Them. BUT B330 Alows You To Do That

Since You Have TWRP You Can Download The Other File In The Website I Gave,
Steps
1. Get The 2 Files Fron The Website.
2. Flash The Other File First That Is Not The Update.zip
3. Next Flash Update.zip
4. After Finish Dont Click Reboot System
5. Go On Main Menu And Click On Reboot And Click On Recovery
6. Once In ER Recovery Click Factory Reset
7. Boot Up Your Done.
8. Can Take 5-11 Minutes
9. Once Finishing Your Set Up, Update Your Phone. Dont Try To Root It Yet Until Your On Latest Version

You saved my phone and me.
I tried again with the dload method and it worked. Earlier it was connected to the laptop, maybe that was an issue.
I flashed BOOT, RECOVERY, RECOVERY2 and SYSTEM.
Then I updated it using the three buttons using dload.
There's no keyboard in this rom. I am trying to install another one.

Oh In ER Recovery You Will Need To Do A Factory Reset And So You Have A Keyboard. If You Dont Do This You Wont Be Able To Update. You Wont Have All Apps That EMUI Has.

I was able to wipe cache partition but I wasn't able to reset the phone.
Any suggestions?

Yeah even that didn't work.
I think I can live without some stock emui apps.
How is this ROM, did you face any other issue other than few missing apps?
