I very recently purchased Honor 8. I had rooted my phone and had installed TWRP recovery.
Since the audio quality wasn't so good. I thought of installing viper4droid. Tried installing many v4d as it wasn't working.
At one point, it was stuck at bootloop.
I tried following the dload method to restore the phone but it didn't work.
Can anyone please help me un-brick my phone?
There are so many tutorials and many roms, I don't know what to follow.
If I go to huawei service center, will they help me?
Please guide me

Yes I have sd card in my phone.
I was able to go on TWRP but then i tried installing CM13. After that I am not able to.
I am able to go to rescue mode. I tried dload method with 2 more ROMs but it failed at 5%.

Can you share the link or the site from where I can download these roms?
How I am trying to install is just place the update.APP inside dload folder and then pressing the 3 buttons.

Since You Have TWRP You Can Download The Other File In The Website I Gave,
Steps
1. Get The 2 Files Fron The Website.
2. Flash The Other File First That Is Not The Update.zip
3. Next Flash Update.zip
4. After Finish Dont Click Reboot System
5. Go On Main Menu And Click On Reboot And Click On Recovery
6. Once In ER Recovery Click Factory Reset
7. Boot Up Your Done.
8. Can Take 5-11 Minutes
9. Once Finishing Your Set Up, Update Your Phone. Dont Try To Root It Yet Until Your On Latest Version

I tried again with the dload method and it worked. Earlier it was connected to the laptop, maybe that was an issue.
I flashed BOOT, RECOVERY, RECOVERY2 and SYSTEM.
Then I updated it using the three buttons using dload.
There's no keyboard in this rom. I am trying to install another one.

Oh In ER Recovery You Will Need To Do A Factory Reset And So You Have A Keyboard. If You Dont Do This You Wont Be Able To Update. You Wont Have All Apps That EMUI Has.

Look on the MoDaco site. There is a guy called Paul O'Brian on there and I think he has something to do with Honor.
He claims that the Honor is unbrickable.
Google MoDaco go ask him how to sort your phone.
If you can get some life out of it then it's mend able

*Were you unlocked?
*Were you rooted?
*Did you try flashing a zip file through TWRP recovery? if yes, which one?
*What firmware did your phone have before the problem?

Well, that's your problem, you can't flash the stock Rom via a custom recovery.
Try this, get the huawei firmware finder tool. Find the FULL version of the OS. I think the onky one for L04 is B162.
Then load it using the dload method. Should fix your problem.

Don't worry, your phone is not hard-bricked is probably just soft-bricked specially if you can get into bootloader.

The reason you are getting stuck at booting is because your boot.img got rewritten when you tried to install the new firmware. I think if you extract stock recovery.img and recovery2.img from the B162 full update and flash those through "fastboot flash recovery recovery.img" and "fastboot flash recovery recovery2.img" Then you should be able to use the dload method.

Wow! That procedure should have worked. Don't know what else I can recommend you to do.
I mean, if you have access to the bootloader then your phone is just soft-bricked. Hope someone has a better option than I do. Good luck. Sorry I couldn't help you more.

" fastboot flash RECOVERY2 RECOVERY2.img " and then u should be able to use the dload update (Volume Up + Power button), when u do the update it will fail (at a certain pourcentage like 85% i think) it's totally fine, u simply have to go into the recovery and do wipe data/factory reset and reboot, and it work again.

Hi guys I have TWRP insalled and it works fine but when I boot it shows the huawie logo and nth happens for hours I downloaded the UPDATE.ZIP the B560 of android 7 (https://www.obeygeek.com/download-h...oid-7-0-nougat-b560-firmware-update-official/) which was my android version before this happens I dont even know if I have an os on my phone now I tried to install UPDATE.ZIP via TWRP install ZIP functions and I got error 7 and failed so I extracted UPDATE.ZIP to use UPDATE.APP in dload folder on my sd card then I put it in pressed volume +- and power button so it got into update page but gave an error that its not compitable with current :/ I dont know what to do I thought it might be the TWRP problem so if i change it to stock version it'll be possible to update dload method but then Im afraid to lose TWRP and then every thing I am a noob in ROM Things please help me out.

I just got my build number is NXT-L29C185B200
but I downloaded and put in dload NXT-L29C432B560
Can it be the only problem why B200 when I asked support they said nth i was running B560 before this happens)

You make the dload method
When the dload method is finished, you make the factory reset with the erecovery
Reboot
If it reboot fine, after you'll install the TWRP if you want it.

Hello guys, honor8boy here.
I unlocked the bootloader on my phone and after that I flashed a custom ROM, then I was going to upgrade TWRP and thats when I noticed that FRP was locked so I couldn't flash TWRP and so I googled for a solution and found out that if I lock my bootloader and then unlock it again it would work. So I locked it again and then I was going to unlock it but it said "FAILED (remote: Command not allowed)". So now the only thing that I can access is fastboot and eRecovery (reset doesn't work).
Does anyone have any idea on how to unlock my phone or maybe flash stock firmware in fastboot mode?

and extract the zip1 and open dload copy the UPDATE.APP to your sd card/dload(create one)
Then power off and press and hold all three buttons and release power when vibrate, it takes sometime and update sucesflly
now take another sd card/same sd card and do the same copy the Update.app which is in large size to dload folder of sd card and
again three button combo after successfully update go to recovery and factor reset once.
Your bootloader is re-locked.

Just go to recovery and factory wipe once it works
If not works even after factory reset ,just dload the second link again now it surely boots to home screen
So is it fixed?

Glad it's fixed.
I'm trying to flash RR custom rom but I need to be on B360. if anyone can help me it would be very nice. I'm on Build 342, I can't update because I have TWRP and root access. I tried updating but after it reaches 100% it says failed to authenticate, deleting update file...
I was doing some research and people said that I need the stock recovery to update.

Yes You need Stock Recovery and then do rollback to mm then You can do Upgrade to b360

I'm new to all this flashing custom roms and recovery and stuff. Please tell me the steps as I will probably not figure it out myself being the dumb one I am.

Hello all, I am on this version and I was not able to install TWRP. It doesn't load at all. Now I want to reinstall the original image and I am looking for the original recovery.img file. Do you know where I can find it? I am able to boot into the ROM pressing all buttons and doing a reboot after. But it is terrible not having a recovery in case something happens.

What was your exact model and build number?

I need a stock recovery image too.. this is EMUI 5.0.1, US variant of the honor 6x...
im on some half way working backup that is different than what i backed up with twrp.. in this one.. videos wont play, doesnt matter the app sound doesntwork at all not for apps ringers, etc.. headphone jack doesnt work blue tooth wont detect anything.. and camera doesnt work.. i dont know what else wont work.. but atleast i have cell service and SMS capability..
i did find a stock firmware on the internet and its PV point version kind would it work or installing through twrp?
do i want OTA-MF or FULLOTA-MF? and then what check box do i mark? are those just different names?

so i just checked all 3 boxes and downloaded it.. how do i extract? if im supposed to transfer files to computer, where did they get downloaded on the phone?

i understand i extract the update.app file but where it is? i hit the little dots on the side of the bar, and it has me look for a file? where is the update.app file after its been downloaded?

Better do this via FF app on PC rather than on phone.

There is a good chance that once you flash the stock recovery things will not go as planned. Best bet is to just roll back to stock firmware and use updater then unlock and reroot again.
For situations like these since it seems so many are having issues with the BLN-L24 recently as opposed to other models of the 6X, IMO the best thing to do is have someone flash Elite modded TWRP and make a compressed,omplete backup of every single partion on a fresh update/install and host it on mega or somewhere with a lot of bandwidth. That way if someone is having troubles they can just flash the modded TWRP and restore everything at once saving a lot of time, frustration and lots of swearing at these damn finicky devices. This version of TWRP alone allowed me to recover a device that I wrote off as unrecoverable and could not even get regular OpenKirin TWRP to boot on.
If this was a few weeks ago I would volunteer to be that person but after spending close to 3 days this week recovering a device that isnt even mine anymore from a simple OTA update gone awry, I am officially done tinkering with Huawei phones, forever. This was the nail in the coffin for me and Huawei devices.
My phone was crashed yesterday & it's now bricked! I can still enter into TWRP but I don't remember what ROM I was on!! I tried flash each one stored in the SD card but none worked! Every time after the reboot it just stuck on the "Your device is booting now.." screen.
My phone is NXT-AL10, the bootloader is unlocked, I have 4 ROMs stored in the SD card: EMUI5.0 B575,B577,B587,B589, they're all Kangvip Roms
Tried several times to flash in TWRP but none works! Really have no idea what's wrong, please help! Thanks

enter to eRecovery and restore your stock rom and recovery,, i think it will be b589.

Tried eRecovery several times but all failed, also tried flashed stock recovery then Dload method but still no luck..

dload method will not work, you tried eRecovery after you flashed stock recovery.

or try downloading full b589 rom for your version then use HWOTA to flash it or use huawei update extractor and flash system, boot, recovery from bootloader
