Full screen pop up ads while opening any apps - General Questions and Answers

Hello, I got a free old Samsung tab 3 a week ago
At first the ROM was laggy like hell so I decided to root and install custom ROM.
The problem is every ROM, either it's KitKat, Resurrection Remix, Linage has pop up ads after my tablet connected to network around 30 mins.
Its worst on KitKat, even pop up every 20 sec ads
In lineage and RR, its appear if I start an apps.
How do I cure this infected tablet?
PS: no bad coded apps, only Gmail, Google Drive, total commander, titanium backup, and MX player and seven Guardian installed

Sounds like your router has been infected by a malware because you were used an app which injects your router
Go to 192.168.1.1 or 192.168.87.1 and login to access admin settings. If you don't know your password, lookup for default password.
Update the firmware to the latest version and it will remove the malware and factory reset your router.
There is no way that it can happen on any custom ROMs.

Did you root the device with Kingroot?
If so, that's where the adware probably came from. Try installing Malwarebytes from the playstore, it will scan and remove adware.

no, lineageos has built in SuperSU
Tried scanning with Malwarebytes it says nothing found
EDIT: here is the method i use to root https://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2525630

Post the screenshot or video of ad.
List all system apps and running apps here.
You might have downloaded modified ROM from dangerous source.

after some thought what @Droidriven said about Kingroot..
i have theory that the root method i use infected my tab
For now its re-rooted with cf-auto-root, reinstalling stock based KitKat ROM and try to use it a couple hours.

What method did you use to root the device before?
Did you re-root with CF autoroot? Is it still having the adware issue? I can guarantee you that CF autoroot will not infect the device, it's the rooting method you should have used the first time. If you still have adware then it's still there from what you did earlier. There are root methods that inject malware into system, generally, all of the Chinese softwares and rooting apps have malware that collects info from your device and sends it back to unknown servers in China for purposes that can only be guessed at. It is highly recommended that anyone using these softwares to root and customize their device should immediately convert to SuperSU and remove the Chinese software.

All you really needed was to flash TWRP then flash SuperSU.zip in TWRP to root. But, you got it rooted safely this time so it doesn't matter.

Ok i have an app called Bradford that wont work if your phone is rooted. Well suggestions was to use Voodoo OTA, unfortunately the app doesn't work for 4.3 android (Galaxy Nexus Custom Rom). Other apps have bad reviews cause A) it deletes the root and have to redo it. B) Bricks your phone C) causes root to deny access all the time. (..cough cough.... HIDE MY ROOT APP) Is there a way for me to hide SU BINARY SAFELY, or an app like xprivacy to deny Bradford to scan for rooted phone. PLLLLLLLZZZ HELP.

***root sm-t230 without computer/twrp***

So i recently updated my firmware and was checking around internet where i can root without change of fail, i found kingroot which will check out if root is avaible your device and if it is (this worked for my tab 4 7.0 OD2 kernel) it will install root and its ready to go! No need install twrp or other recovery stuff (sure you can install them later if need) rooting took less than minute but i also found out that theiy install their own superuser app which is pretty bad and adware aswell.... you can replace it pretty easily.
Rooting happens in app by launching their app it will check if root is avaible for your device and then press try it and let it wait till 100% and you are rooted!
No reboot needed. However you should install busybox to unlock full powers of root.

Kingroot also copies all your personal data to Chinese servers, just in case you hate not having your private data looked over by strangers in a different country

Im not sure what you mean with that link. Antivirus will detect it as virus because it uses exploit to enable root on your device. Also srsroot tool is virus because it contains exploits. There are no proof about virus (i havent seen in google). Why should you care about kingroot virus if facebook also has same premissions to use your device and billions of people use it all over world while it collects data all time. I havent seen any problems after i rooted my device and used for few months before i changed rom and wiped /system....

Wow, most of the time I remain silent towards your unprovoked, unsolicited slights, but I guess I've reached a breaking point. First off, kingroot does send your private information to a server in China, second I'm not an idiot, I know nobody from China is coming after me as a result, third, I'm not naive, I know it amounts to the same thing the NSA does on a daily basis, but four, there's a way to root without all this kingroot nonsense. Oh and finally, mind bugging the hell off, like just leave me alone? Maybe at least just for a week or so? Try out not sniping each and every one of my posts to critique everything I say, to see if it suits you at all?

Rooting an LG G3 D850 with Marshmallow

All the methods I have tried do not seem to work or are temporary
If I try installing SuperSU it ask me to update but the update fails or if I try using TWRP it does not reboot on its own to update and I end up not being able accomplish anything
Kingroot does work, some of the time, but it is temporary and I want something permanent
the majority of root methods I have found do not work with the d850. I do not want to install any custom roms or do anything too fancy; I just want to be able to delete bloatware and maybe use file recovery software that requires root. What can I do?
I do not think MM is rootable at the moment

https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=darkslide.com.supersumepro Use this to get rid of KingRoot. KingRoot has to be installed when applying this app, it works of you follow the instructions to the T. But if you don't, you'll brick your phone. Been there done that. Good Luck!

I thought that deleting apps is what got me Security Error. Maybe it was removing kingroot without installing this app? Or maybe it was deleting a certain app. I tried searching around to find what caused this.
It was this type of screen http://attachments.gfan.com/forum/attachments2/201304/22/151007telkutce0c1ddsrr.jpg

You have to let the app remove kkngroot to replace it with SuperSU. Whole purpose of the app. If you remove kingroot then your removing root. You need root for the app to work. It removes kingroot and places SuperSU in its place, the only way to permanently root marshmallow on the lgg3 for now.

I Understand that Part, I just couldn't figure out what happened to cause the Security Error. IDK if it was uninstalling Mcafee improperly or what. And I'm lucky the LGUP method was discovered, as that was the only way to recover from that

recovering root access

G'day all.
Rooted my old Galaxy Tab 4; flashed a ROM that seems to be working just fine.
Somehow I managed to delete/disable/screw up Google Play Services to the point where I had to do a factory reset. I still appear to be using the new ROM, but SuperUser now says I don't have root access. When I run the rooting software (KingoRoot, Kingroot, and RootMaster) they say I'm rooted. But Root Check says not.
Any thoughts as to how to recover access? I'd like to be able to get rid of some of the bloatware that still infests the machine.
regards

I'll have a look there but I think the issue is not necessarily related to the machine but to something with the software permissions. Somehow, Superuser is ignoring the rooting software, whiich did not happent he first time I did it and I think that's because something happened during the reset.

Samsung devices are not like other Android devices, very heavily modified android.
Very few devices can be rooted by KingoRoot, Kingroot, or RootMaster anymore.
As long as the SU-binary is present in /system/bin the device is rooted. Check for this.

Thanks. Presumably that's under Device Storage, yes? I don't appear to have a system folder there. A search doesn't turn up the file itself.

And I do not appear to have access t the root files, so can't see if anything is in /system/bin. Indeed I can't see the folder itself. mite turn up on adb, I suppose. I'll try that when a get a few minutes.

Random app movements causing paranoia

I have been noticing that some apps on my home page change location without my doing. Most commonly happens with reddit app but I've observed others too.
FYI. This is a used android phone given to me by an elderly family member with no technical knowledge. I factory reset the phone before starting to use it. I rooted the phone about 5 days later using FonePaw recovery tool's rooting feature to try and recover some files.
What could be the cause behind this app movement?
What's the likelihood that my phone has been hacked?
Thank you in advance!
I would say,
Your phone is not rooted properly and now causing errors. Because it is rooted using a third party, I can say that it is not rooted properly. Please flash any recovery in your phone like TWRP, Orange Fox, CWM, etc. then root it with Magisk properly by flashing its flashable zip using the installed recovery. I think problem is gonna be solved after that.
welcome
Thanks you

You can just Root with Magisk properly so that previous Root that was causing errors can be removed by the process and then you can uninstall Magisk Root to stay unrooted but with no more errors.
Magisk Root is trust all by developers around the Globe. So, when you uninstall it, it removes itself perfectly so the user can stay Unrooted without errors.
